☆hyeon is a pretty outgoing person, despite his raging anxiety. he tries to make friends with everybody and lives in the present moment as much as he possibly can. he's what some would describe as a daredevil as he likes doing dangerous things that could result in the end of his life. deep down, he does all these things because he afraid of dying to the hands of the deadly disease plaguing his body and if he does end up dying of heart failure, he wants to at least experience all the wonders of life before doing so. the only time he's not super outgoing and friendly is in large crowds. then, he gets shy very suddenly and looks for the best way to get out of whatever crowd he's in. ☆

《BACKSTORY》
☆hyeon was born into a family of 5, him being the 6th member, that definitely wasn't rich, but had enough money to support the family without ever being in debt or any financial crisis. his parents were always very accepting and so were his 3 sisters. he did very well in school and actually ended up skipping grade 2. however, that's when god decided his life was too good. at the age of 7, he was diagnosed with a heart disease that ran in his dad's side of the family, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. the child was suddenly not allowed to play at pe or recess, his parents afraid of his heartrate getting too high. all his friends eventually got bored of him because he was never able to play. his youngest sister stopped talking to him because he was taking all their parents' attention. he turned to other things to stay sane, which included alcohol and marijuana (he was about 14 at this time). he enjoyed that rush of adrenaline and danger he got, knowing the activity could literally destroy him. it was around that time that his heart almost failed for the first time (this was also around the time he was diagnosed with anxiety). he was hospitalized for a month and put in a wheelchair for another. after he was able to start walking again, he took physical therapy. he told the therapist that he didn't do anything close to excersize because his parents were afraid of it. she suggested that he take dance classes. although dancing would be dangerous, it would allow him to get exercise without having to do anything even more harmful for him. so he took ballet classes. when he was 17, he had a heart attack and was hospitalized again. this time, he received an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator, a device placed in the chest that shocks the heart if it begins to beat dangerously irregularly. with this new device, hyeon felt a lot more safe dancing and left his home city at the age of 18 to go pursue dance in seoul. and, now, he does a few gigs here and there for money and works as a barista on the side. he cut back on the drugs and alcohol to stay healthier for dance.☆
《RELATIONSHIPS》
☆his parents, kang haejin and kang wonwoo; he has a good relationship with both. he knows that they love him, but he got sick of their constant worrying and just uses them to get what he wants now.
☆his oldest sister, kang chaeyoung; they're best friends, inseparable. she has always helped him through the early stages of his disease, and even now, she moved to the big city of seoul with him so he wouldn't be alone pursuing what he loved.☆
☆his 2nd oldest sister, kang mijung; they have a normal sibling relationship. they're friends, they like to tease each other, and they fight every now and then.☆
☆his youngest sister, kang mina; they absolutely hate each other. when mina stopped talking to him when she was only 8, to now. she has tried many things to sabotage his dancing career and even to almost killing him once by scaring him and /actually/ giving him a heart attack.☆


《MEDICAL》
☆he has a heart disease called hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, a disease where the heart muscle becomes abnormally thick and makes it hard for the heart to pump blood. it isn't curable, but there are ways to keep it from getting out of hand, such as limiting exercise or getting a pacemaker or implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (what hyeon has). ☆
☆he also has a very mild case of generalized anxiety disorder☆
