M6A2E1-2 Heavy Tank

M6A2E1/T29 hybrid

During the time between August of 1944 and March of 1944, the M6 Heavy Tank was dropped due to the tank concept becoming redundant-- medium tanks with less armor and firepower could still outperform it. Ideas for a new design were being spitballed, which sparked the idea of either developing a new heavy tank altogether, or modernizing the M6 design, mainly the A2E1 variant. What happened between the decommissioning of the M6/T1 project and the start of the T29 projects is left to the archives. What little is known is that an early version of the T29 turret that would eventually be put on the T29 chassis, (T136 as we know in-game) was tested on the A2E1 chassis. This test bed wasn't given a name, or we simply do not know it. The turret ring of the M6 chassis and the T29 turret is the same. The turret of the T29 weighs significantly less than that of the M6A2E1's turret, so the tank may be more nimble and accurate.
