Byeongcheol was never meant to be much. To put it nicely, he was never meant to be alive. His parents didn't want a child and couldn't have an abortion, so he arrived. His parents were two hard-working people who barely sat above the breadline, they had no time to tend to the unwanted baby. They tried to show him love and affection, but can you fake something like that? At a young age, Cheol discovered that the answer was no. On top of the neglect, the Lee household was smack bang in the middle of gang territory. Yeong really had 0 positive influences and became slightly warped as he grew.
When Byeongcheol was 10, it was announced he was gaining a baby sister. His first thought was "why would I want one of those?" However, after close contemplation, he realized he finally would not be alone. When little baby Bohui finally came along, Byeongcheol fell in love. This little baby became his entire life's purpose and began to raise her with the best of his ability. Life was great, finally. Byeongcheol was trying in school for once, he wanted to make something of himself for his sister. However, when he was 18, something terrible happened.
It was a sunny day, the breeze that shook the trees held a comforting warmth and Cheol was on schedule as he made his way to Bohui's school to pick her up. Everything was going according to plan as he whisked the bubbly 8-year-old away from the decrepit building. It wasn't till they rounded the corner that tragedy struck. A gorgeous butterfly with golden wings descended in front of the two as if it was a message from a higher power. Enamoured by the bug, Bohui chased after it and away from Yeong. It was all fun and games until Cheol realized that she was running towards 3113 gang territory. Fear gripped his body and he sprinted after her, but fate was not on his side. The rival gang, 060, had begun a turf war that Bohui and her brother were not privy to. She was caught by a stray bullet and died on the scene.
From that day forward, Cheol vowed to make something of himself and get some form of revenge. So, he left home, left education and joined forces with people who could help him achieve his goal.

Naturally, Cheol is a kind and sheltering soul. Having never experienced any affection from his parents, he is full of unspent love and care. Like with his sister, he demonstrated his fatherly tendencies and amazingly sweet affection. However, after she passed, he never really found anyone else to love or cherish. He put up a front, half out of self-preservation and half out of determination to get where he needs to be. On the outside, he is cold, brash and uncaring. He contains his emotions incredibly well and isn't much of a talker. But at his centre, he is a sweet and trustworthy boy desperate for some intimacy and connections. He is not one to express himself outwardly and is more of a listener but at times gives great advice.
On the flip side, he sometimes explodes. By this I mean, as he bottles his emotions all the time, when angered he will become volatile and unpredictable. He can be impulsive and quite dangerous. He hates this side of himself and aims to keep it under control but sometimes it gets the better of him.
Cheol can be fiercely protective and has amazing strength. He is a great bodyguard and a great friend when he lets you in.
