speedbooster
xray

charge a spark in kraid's room, enter varia room
shoot capsule, switch to xray
spinjump over varia, hit angle up just before hitting it
this accomplishes two things: activates your shinespark at the same time as collecting varia
during the varia cutscene, hold run with xray selected, and either left or right
