Despite abortion being legal in Ireland under specific conditions, namely if the continued pregnancy were to place physical danger or affect the mother’s mental health, the opening of an abortion clinic would push the religious boundaries that has divided Ireland, the British Protestants and the Irish Catholic, thus angering citizens.
