It seems she's having some TREE-OUBLE though, as her spellbook was stolen by a trevenant and his phantumb goons! After being ambushed by the latter, the party's belongings were stolen, and we last left out heroes racing into the woods after them!

[19:49:04 ][@Doxy] The phantump can float above the various fallen logs, rocks, gnarled tree roots, and overall dense foliage - you soon lose sight of most of them, except one that seems to be lagging behind.
[19:49:08 ][Percival] "Nah, we just learned about fairies, ghosts seem even worse with the whole passing through deal."
[19:49:28 ][@Doxy] "Does uh, does this happen to you guys often!?" the witch asks, trying to run while keeping their hat on their head
[19:50:25 ][Percival] "Sorta, we're a bit too trusting with our belongings it seems."
[19:50:42 ][Adrienne] "It happened once, and we should've learned," Adrienne grumbles.
[19:50:50 ][Dann-] "We should just stop setting our stuff down when we stop to help someone with something."
[19:51:03 ][Lucian] "Yeah, running into us was probably the worst thing that could have happened to you."
[19:51:13 ][Lucian] "...OR, the best thing, because we have some experience with this?"
[19:51:16 ][Dann-] "Though I do enjoy getting a break from rock duty."
[19:51:35 ][Lucian] "I guess it depends on how much you enjoy running through dusty forests."
[19:52:07 ][Percival] "Hopefully we won't have this happen too much more in the future."
[19:52:38 ][Adrienne] "I enjoy it, but not like this. I spent money on those supplies!" Adrienne sounds indignant as she keeps running, pretty intent on getting all the stuff back.
[19:53:14 ][Lucian] "Well, either way you were kind of fucked the moment these ghosts decided to pick on you."
[19:55:01 ][@Doxy] As you race through the dark forest, you finally enter a dimly lit clearing.
[19:55:54 ][@Doxy] The Witch stops to catch her breath and try to discern the direction in which the ghosts fled. PUFF PUFF. "Wait.." PUFF "Look, there!"
[19:57:31 ]* Lucian skids to a halt, kicking up a screen of leaves as he whips around to look at whatever the Witch is pointing at.
[19:57:35 ][Lucian] "At what?"
[19:57:44 ][Percival] "What's up?"
[19:57:46 ][@Doxy] She points to the top of a tall nearby tree. High up in the air in front of the tree, a large Trevenant is floating. In one hand it's holding an old, thick book. In the other it's holding what seems to be... a long thin root. It smiles down upon your group.
[19:58:04 ][Adrienne] "Is it holding a wand?"
[19:58:34 ][Percival] "Oh that's your book now isn't it?"
[19:59:07 ][@Doxy] "Hey! That's my book! Give it back!"
[20:00:01 ][@Doxy] The Witch tries slinging a bolt of flame, but the Trevenant is far too high up. It just laughs at her attempt, spinning around once, delighted.
[20:00:06 ][Dann-] "You know, evil tree sorcerer actually seems like it could be a nice change from uncapturable rage machine."
[20:00:13 ]* Dann- mutters as he catches his breath.
[20:00:57 ][Percival] "Hmph, I sure hope it can't read that book."
[20:01:22 ][@Doxy] Right on cue, the Trevenant opens the book and begins reading it.
[20:01:24 ][Lucian] "I don't know, at least we knew what we were getting into with rage monsters."
[20:02:26 ][Lucian] "Does anybody have like, a Silence move?"
[20:02:28 ][@Doxy] It begins chanting out in slow rhythmic syllables, and its entire body begins to glow! The root in its other hand, you notice, begins to curl up on itself
[20:02:42 ]* Lucian stands next to Roy as the strange magic begins to come to life.
[20:02:43 ][Percival] "Ok maybe it can, that's really not good at all."
[20:03:07 ][@Doxy] As it does so, you feel a sudden shift on the floor next to you.. and see that roots and vines all around you have begin to move and quickly wrap around your ankles and knees!
[20:03:29 ][@Doxy] "Oh boy."
[20:03:39 ][Dann-] "Ah!"
[20:03:56 ]* Dann- swings the sharp edge of his shovel at the vines twisting around his legs.
[20:04:31 ][Lucian] "Roy! Spin around and get us free!"
[20:04:49 ][Dann-] "Kai, whatever you do, do not light these vines on fire please."
[20:05:04 ][Adrienne] "Crap," she mutters, reaching for one of her Pokeballs while attempting to disentangle herself from the roots and vines.
[20:05:48 ][@Doxy] Roy tries to Move, but he's caught too - as are any other Pokemon that may be out. Suddenly the roots and vines move quickly and all at once!..
[20:06:32 ][Percival] "This is not ideal, you sure you wouldn't want to get a bit toasted and free?"
[20:07:15 ][Lucian] "There are roots all around us Percy."
[20:07:34 ][Lucian] "We're not going to be able to put them all out while it extends to the rest of the forest."
[20:08:30 ][@Doxy] Your feet are dragged out from under you, and in the flash of an eye you're all being dragged along the floor towards each other, thrown together unceremoniously in a large messy and not to mention uncomfortable people-pile. Roots wrap around your hands, wrists, and ankles, so you can't move them more than a few centimeters.
[20:10:21 ][@Doxy] It takes a few moments for everyone to regain their bearings as you struggle against the vines, and try to get your knees out of each other's faces and so on.

[20:11:44 ][Lucian] "It could be worse."
[20:11:56 ][Lucian] "This could be freshman dorming at my old high school."
[20:12:32 ][Percival] "This isn't exactly how I wished to get to know you people more."
[20:13:23 ][Dann-] "I'm pretty comfy, personally."
[20:13:40 ][@Doxy] "Right, right, let me think."
[20:13:53 ][Adrienne] "Dammit, Dann. At least be uncomfortable with everyone else."

[20:14:48 ][@Doxy] "I can't counter the spell without my book, but, if we can destroy that root it used as the focus of the spell, I think it'll undo the spell and free us!"

[20:15:43 ][@Doxy] "Of course we can't destroy that root while trapped here. So let's all find a way to pass the time while we wait to starve to death or die from exposure or get eaten by animals, whichever is first! So what are your names?"
[20:17:03 ][Percival] "I mean there's hope something might come by to eat away the roots or old age might come first."
[20:17:50 ]* Adrienne doesn't like the prospect of being stuck with Miss Cheery, so she attempts to wiggle in her bindings. Maybe if she dislodged a Pokeball she can have one of her Pokemon help.

[20:22:42 ][@Doxy] Nathan, Merric, Pyuki, and Layla pop out of their balls, looking at your group with concern.

[20:23:26 ][Adrienne] "... Okay, I'm one step closer to believing magic is an actual thing. Layla! There's a Trevenant holding some kind of root, if you break it we'll be free!"

[20:25:02 ][Dann-] "Do what you gotta do Nathan!" Dann calls, opening his mind up to any probing Nathan may attempt to figure out what's going on.

[20:26:42 ][@Doxy] One of the Witch's Pokeballs is also launcher clear, and out pops the charmander from before!

[20:28:50 ][@Doxy] Your Pokemon all nod, understanding their mission, and head deeper into the woods to look for this root!

[20:35:20 ][@Doxy] "N-no, we're looking for a SPECIFIC root! Also uhm, nice to meet you all..."

[20:35:43 ][Merric] "Haha You're a fire-type! Lucian says you're weak against me."
[20:36:09 ][@Doxy] "T-that's true... but uhm, we should be working together so..."

[20:39:56 ][Nathan] He picks up another stick, pokes Layla with his other hand, and then snaps the stick again. He then points at the sky.
[20:39:57 ][Merric] "He has glasses and books and talks bad about people who don't have glasses and books.:
[20:40:01 ][Pyuki] "He looks sorta stuck."
[20:40:47 ][@Doxy] The charmander shakes its head. "I-in any case, we should start moving.. we don't want to keep our Masters there for too long..."

[20:40:53 ][Layla`] "I think I get it!"
[20:41:02 ][Layla`] "If we eat the Trevenant we can fly!"
[20:41:05 ]* Merric scoffs, "Lucian is smart, not strong."
[20:41:16 ]* Nathan points at Beryl and nods vigorously.
[20:41:24 ][@Doxy] "A-all those people TOUCHING Master Robin like that, tsk, no, no, that won't do."
[20:41:38 ]* Merric jumps in place, "Okay, let's move out team. Lucian said I was leader so I'll lead us to victory."
[20:41:39 ][Pyuki] "Y-yeah, I don't think they look comfortable, what sort of root is it?"
[20:41:46 ][Nathan] He then whips his head back to Layla with wide eyes and shakes his head even more vigorously.
[20:42:28 ]* Merric marches off in a direction, expecting the others to follow.
[20:43:08 ]* Layla` doesn't even see Nathan, she's bounding ahead to walk alongside Merric! >:D

[20:46:03 ]* Nathan ponders on what he saw in Dann's head and realizes that Merric is going entirely the opposite direction.
[20:46:47 ][Nathan] He telekinetically whips a nearby branch down in front of the departing pair.
[20:48:03 ][@Doxy] "Uhm, I think uhm, we have to go this way actually..."
[20:48:11 ]* Merric squeaks in terror, "We're under attack!"
[20:48:14 ][Merric] "Everybody get down!"
[20:48:16 ][Layla`] "!" Layla looks around! "Oh!"
[20:48:20 ][Pyuki] "O-oh, sorry about that. Yeah that might be a good idea."
[20:48:23 ][Merric] "Sacrifice yourself for me!"
[20:48:33 ]* Merric buries his head in the dirt.
[20:48:38 ]* Layla` bonks Merric lightly with her larger mouth. "You got the wrong way!"
[20:49:10 ]* Nathan sees an opportunity and waves more branches around on the wrong side of the party, in an attempt to scare them away. He feigns terror, and points frantically in the correct direction.
[20:49:55 ]* Merric pulls his head out of the ground. "Obviously. I was just testing you!"
[20:50:01 ][Merric] "You failed, obviously."
[20:50:12 ][Merric] "Let's go in the right direction this time."
[20:50:47 ][Merric] "Nathan, you are now Official Royal Navigator. You're in charge of getting us to the right place."
[20:50:58 ][Layla`] "Merric is bad at being leader!"
[20:51:10 ][Pyuki] "You have a strange method of testing, lets see what might be up ahead then."
[20:51:22 ][Merric] "Merric is the strongest!"
[20:51:26 ]* Nathan does his best version of pinching his nose between his fingers (given his lack of fingers), and nods. He feigns intense thought for a few moments, and then points dramatically in the correct direction.

[20:52:13 ]* Merric does his best impression of Roy and sort of rolls toward the direction Nathan pointed them in.
[20:52:34 ][Layla`] "(I could probably fight Merric)," Layla says privately to herself.

[20:58:38 ][@Doxy] Eventually as you continue onward, you reach what seems to be a gate in the middle of the forest, which provides an opening in a tall wall of thick, thorny hedges.
