Tournament related questions

Q: How do I join the tournament?

A: First of all make sure your game works Online. Play a few matches and see if you have a stable connection with most people around the world (or at least in your region).
Now that's done, make an account on Challonge.com, open our tournament's site and press the big button saying 'GO TO REGISTRATION', then 'SIGN IN' using the nick you use on Fightcade to avoid confusion. It's as simple as that!


Q: What's a Check-in?

A: Before the tournament officially begins, all participants need to hit the Check-in button on the tournament's site to confirm the attendance at the tourney. Check-in starts 30 minutes before the tournament begins.
Tournament Hosts will be calling out all participants that haven't yet Checked-in in Fightcade's lobby and on Discord. If you have any issues with Checking-in, contact a tournament host on Discord.


Q: What does 'Double Elimination' mean?

A: Double Elimination is a system where every tournament player needs to lose their sets of matches TWICE to be officially removed from the tournament. That means as long as you didn't lose to two of your opponents, you still have a chance to win!
This also applies to the Grand Finals in case you haven't lost a single match before. The winner of the loser's brackets needs to win in the Grand Finals twice to take 1st place!


Q: What's 'Best of 3' and 'Best of 5' supposed to mean?

A: In Bo3 system, in order to advance to the next round of the tournament, a participant needs to win 2 out of 3 sets of matches, that means win two full games (not just ingame rounds) to proceed.
Bo5 system is the same except you need to win 3 out of 5 games.


Q: How do I set the scores on Challonge?

A: Once you're done fighting, click on the icon near your and your rivals match and simply change the scores. Alternatively, report the scores to one of the tournament hosts. If there are any kinds of disagreements when it comes to the outcome of the match, report it to tournament hosts as well.
