  12. These people are real super hero's, dedicated to serving the public with current alerts and warnings that will save many lives when disaster strikes.

  15. It is only a matter of time before a natural, or unnatural disaster will occurre, and these warnings are put in place as a preliminary defense.

  18. The Mount Ray-Near, LuhHarr Siren-project is part of an overall emergency communications system for Pierce County.

  21. The focus for the sirens is to warn the residents in the Pew-owl-Up River Valley of the need to evacuate due to a volcanic disaster from the Mount Ray-Near Volcano.

  24. When imminent volcanic danger threatens, the sirens will be activated.

  27. Citizens will be advised to evacuate the valley floor and head to higher ground by vehicle or foot.

  30. The outdoor LuhHarr warning sirens are tested at noon on the first Monday of every month.

  33. The sirens will wail for approximately two to five minutes during the testing.

  36. The sound you have been hearing during this video was recorded during a routine test.

  39. They will continue to cycle on and off during a real alert.

  42. The Emergency Alert System (Eey Aey-Yes) is one of the many means used by alerting authorities to send warnings via broadcast, cable, satellite and wire line communications pathways.

  45. The Eey Aey-Yes, is also used when all other means of alerting the public are unavailable, providing an added layer of resiliency to the suite of available emergency communication tools.

  48. The NOAA Weather Radio (NWR) system is an "All Hazards" radio network, making it your single source for comprehensive weather and all hazard emergency information.

  51. In conjunction with federal, state and local emergency managers and other public officials, NWR also broadcasts warning and post-event information for all types of hazards,

  53. including natural (such as earthquakes or avalanches), environmental (such as chemical releases or oil spills) and public safety (such as AMBER alerts or 9 1 One Telephone outages).
