  3. With increased support coming from General Resource Ltd., the UPEO was able to field the Ranger combat mecha. Built on a heavier and more robust chassis than the Defender, the Ranger is more durable in combat and carries more armor. It also features a ground-effect hovering system similar to that employed by the Pathfinder. This hovering system gives the Ranger faster ground travel than it could normally achieve.

  5. Because of the additional weight of the Ranger's chassis and fuel tanks, it is less maneuverable than the Defender. The ranged armament is similar to the Defender, with a submachine gun as its primary weapon and two Panzerfaust rocket-propelled grenade launchers. The Ranger's submachine gun is of a heavier caliber than the Defender's, and the Panzerfaust launchers are mounted in the arms instead of the legs, which house the hovering thrusters. It is equipped with a beam saber for close combat, but foregoes carrying a shield as the added weight would cause a drastic decrease in maneuverability.

  7. Combining increased durability with the Pathfinder's speed, the Ranger is expected to serve as a skirmisher deployed in small numbers to conduct quick strikes against enemy targets. General Resource engineers are currently attempting to improve the Ranger's design in order to equip it with better weapons or armor.
