  13. [2013-09-04 13:32:55] <Kkat> 3The Advanced Securities Department lays open before the group. Turrets and robotic guardians are silent and motionless, powered down thanks to Bookwright and Sweet-E, the newly sprite-bot-enabled cloned mind of Sweetie Belle.
  14. [2013-09-04 13:33:50] * Noble_Heart trots in the direction of the ASD, glancing about slowly. "So what is it We are searching for here in specific?"
  15. [2013-09-04 13:33:50] * CopyCat calls out. "Sweetie Belle, are you hurt? We heard shooting before you turned the turrets off."
  16. [2013-09-04 13:35:19] <Kkat> 3Pink-E swoops in over the others, "Sweet-E! (heehee luvthatname) Are you okay?"
  17. [2013-09-04 13:38:16] <Kkat> 3Sweet-E responds to both CopyCat and Pink-E. "I'm... okay. Yes. I can't get you into the back room though."
  18. [2013-09-04 13:38:35] * Bookwright is curious. "Er, why not?"
  19. [2013-09-04 13:38:47] <Kkat> 3Pink-E guesses, "You're access is totally denied, right? I hate that."
  20. [2013-09-04 13:39:16] * Noble_Heart frowns, trotting down the hall. "What is in the back room?"
  21. [2013-09-04 13:39:32] <Shatara> "What we need, I presume..."
  22. [2013-09-04 13:41:39] <Kkat> 3Sweet-E replies, "This robot isn't authorized to go back there. The security inside that room is still active. Nothing I can do about it from here."
  23. [2013-09-04 13:42:30] <Kkat> 3Pink-E makes a nodding motion towards Shatara. "Isn't that how it always is? What you want is always in the last place you look."
  24. [2013-09-04 13:43:22] * CopyCat pokes her head through the door and confirms that, yes, the turrets have stopped. "Phew, well at least you aren't hurt Sweet-E." Hearing the new problem, she tilts her head. "Would an Overmare's ID help? Because I have one of those..."
  25. [2013-09-04 13:43:31] * Kid_ just keeps an eye out for anything sellable. Or wearable, the old leather armor was getting to be a bit crusty with blood.
  26. [2013-09-04 13:45:20] * Bookwright "I'm pretty that always finding what you're looking for in the last place you look is simply cause and effect. Nevertheless, the robot is right. We need to get in there, but how?"

[2013-09-04 13:46:18] <Kkat> 3The first few rooms off of the ASD hallway are offices, all variations of a now-common theme: desk, terminal, filing cabinet, shelves... with a deactivated turret on the ceiling and whatever posters or frame pictures the pony who once worked here had decorated with. One office has a vase on the desk and several concrete buckets for potted plants.
  28. [2013-09-04 13:47:36] <Kkat> 3Any vegetation long dead. One has a few model blimps hanging from the ceiling. One looks like a fish. Another is shaped like Pinkie Pie's head.
  29. [2013-09-04 13:48:38] * CopyCat looks at the Pinkie Pie head and then at Pink-E. "That looks familiar..."
  30. [2013-09-04 13:50:30] * Noble_Heart blinks and frowns slightly at the odd decor. "We suppose We should look through the various rooms." She sighs and continues down the halls.
  31. [2013-09-04 13:50:37] * Kid_ frowns. Oh bullshit! You weren't allowed to be more offices! You were supposed to be all machines for turning rocks into coal and power armors made of diamonds!
  32. [2013-09-04 13:51:24] * Shatara pokes his beak into the blimp office a bit.
  33. [2013-09-04 13:52:19] <Kkat> 3Beyond the offices, the ASD opens up into a mulch-tiered, communal research area. The walls are lined with old lab equipment, slowly degrading over time. Circular workbenches hold schematics and disassembled machinery. Deactivated robots stand about like statues in a graveyard.

  35. [2013-09-04 13:55:17] * Bookwright looooooves schematics. "I loooooove schematics!"
  36. [2013-09-04 13:55:30] * Bookwright walks up and begins to examine them.
  37. [2013-09-04 13:55:46] * Noble_Heart let out a quiet whistle. Slowly moving through the laboratory checking now and then over Bookwright's shoulder. "We have not seen such a collection of lost information in many, many years."
  38. [2013-09-04 13:55:48] * Get_Lost is with the others, because that's what she does.
  39. [2013-09-04 14:02:16] * Shatara looks over some of the fancy prototype machinery.
  40. [2013-09-04 14:03:18] * Get_Lost gives a fast look too, just to see what these stable ponies were up to... but you know... solaris... who needs schematics anyway?
  41. [2013-09-04 14:06:58] * CopyCat looks at the shiny things because that's what everypony else was doing. "OoooOOooOo."
  42. [2013-09-04 14:13:33] * Noble_Heart continues through, glancing at blueprints now and then, but largely leaving them to Bookwright to document. He was the one obsessed with the past.
  43. [2013-09-04 14:15:53] <Kkat> 3Most of the schematics are clearly partials, one layer of design on a multi-layered project. But both Get_Lost and Bookwright are able to recognize blueprints related to the RD-E security sprite-bot design, the holograph emitters and even elements of what appears to be a microwave-based weapon.

[2013-09-04 14:21:11] * Get_Lost studies the bluepriints for a moment, then shrugs "yeah, interesting, but lacks creativity.... why you have to use a microwave gun that small when you can create a whole volcano reacto and make it large enough to cook a carrot pie on the opposite hemisphere?... also... what was wrong with conventional microwave oven?"
  45. [2013-09-04 14:22:24] * Bookwright shrugs. "It's just another way for us to kill others. As if we didn't have enough."
  46. [2013-09-04 14:23:02] * Noble_Heart frowns, contemplating that. "And a way to kill robots, We would imagine." She continues on her way.
  47. [2013-09-04 14:24:04] * Bookwright shakes his head. "You can't kill what was never alive, Noble_Heart."
  48. [2013-09-04 14:24:39] * Get_Lost "hey, robots have feelings too!"
  49. [2013-09-04 14:24:59] <Kkat> 3Pink-E joins in with the "Hey!"
  50. [2013-09-04 14:25:21] * Noble_Heart tilts her head to one side. "A ceasation of function is the same as death to you or Us."
  51. [2013-09-04 14:25:48] <Kkat> 3Sweet-E adds, "I really don't want to cease to function. I'd miss functioning."
  52. [2013-09-04 14:26:24] * Bookwright "Well, it's true. You aren't alive in the biological sense, and you can be restored from damage the equivalent of to us would be permanently lethal."
  53. [2013-09-04 14:26:38] * Bookwright "You're not misfunctioning, Sweet-E. You're fine."
  54. [2013-09-04 14:26:52] * Kid frowns. "Now that there's a question of philosophy."
  55. [2013-09-04 14:27:33] * Get_Lost "i know some robots that are a lot better than a lot of ponies...."
  56. [2013-09-04 14:29:24] * Get_Lost "sure, there are different kinf of robots... mostly, three kinds of robots: bullybots, funnybots and whinybots and some of these types are okay to be deactivated, still... not everybot is a bullybot"
  57. [2013-09-04 14:31:05] * Bookwright shakes his head. "No Kid, philosophy is something like 'what is beauty?' I'm talking in practical terms. Robot repair is a well established field."
  58. [2013-09-04 14:32:44] * Get_Lost "theny you hit the floating memory unit and the whole robot's treasure of memories, experiences, happy moments and all that makes the robot your friend is gone..." shivers "i don't want to think about it"
  59. [2013-09-04 14:35:17] * CopyCat tilts her head curiously at Bookwright. "But what if you could make an exact copy? What would that mean?"
  60. [2013-09-04 14:36:07] * Bookwright "It would mean you have two robots? I'm not sure what you're asking."
  61. [2013-09-04 14:37:12] * Comrade_Lost shakes her head "no... they'll start to diiverge as soon as they start to have different experiences..."
  62. [2013-09-04 14:37:47] * Bookwright nods in agreement with Comrade_Lost.
  63. [2013-09-04 14:37:49] * Noble_Heart frowns. "She is curious as to whether or not it is the same to duplicate the memories of a robot into another such as to have two of the same robot." She sighs quietly. "It is a difficult question for Us in particular."
  64. [2013-09-04 14:38:07] * Comrade_Lost "obviously, we'rre talking about advanced robots with elaborate neural patterns... not those things barely able to move and take aim..."
  65. [2013-09-04 14:38:46] <Kkat> 3Sweet-E thinks for a bit. "No, I'm sure if I died, I'd be dead."
  66. [2013-09-04 14:39:36] * Bookwright "And we both hope that won't happen, Sweet-E."
  67. [2013-09-04 14:40:39] <Kkat> 3Pink-E nod-bobbles. "Yeah. I'm very sophisticated! If you broke me, I don't think you could repair me. I'm super-special!"
  68. [2013-09-04 14:40:58] * Kid_ clutches at her head. "Too much thinkin', not enough loot."
  69. [2013-09-04 14:42:10] * CopyCat smiles and pats Pink-E with a wing. "You're both very special."
  70. [2013-09-04 14:42:17] <Kkat> 3Pink-E offers helpfully, "You want loot? How about a bowling ball? I know where a whole bunch of those are stashed!"
  71. [2013-09-04 14:43:11] <Kkat> 3Pink-E adds, "For bowling ball emergencies." The makes a happy boop as CopyCat pats the pink sprite-bot.
  72. [2013-09-04 14:45:04] * Kid_ huffs. "Ah'd prefer a little somethin' that ah could keep around fer livin' emergencies." She replied.
  73. [2013-09-04 14:48:07] * Comrade_Lost shrugs "i could use a bowling ball... i heard that bowling mares are sexy... read it on some old magazine...."
  74. [2013-09-04 14:48:07] * Kid continues. "Y'no. Cool tech stuff. Ammo. Food. Water. Some way t' get outta this bubble. Th' good things in life."
  75. [2013-09-04 14:48:23] * Noble_Heart sighs quietly and continues through the labs, looking at the various pieces of blueprints. She paused a moment. "We are curious. Does anyone know what form of defense the barrier uses? Could these microwave generators be a part of it?"
  76. [2013-09-04 14:48:54] * Comrade_Lost "i think it uses a disintegration on touch sort of defence, on the way our"

  78. [2013-09-04 14:49:16] * Bookwright "I... I didn't see anything in those schematics that suggested it."
  79. [2013-09-04 14:49:40] * Kid stops. "Ah... Think that it might be lightnin' powered. Though, I'm guessin' microwave might be somethin' we could use t'..." She paused. "... Could we use th' microwave thing t' blast a hole through th' shield?"
  80. [2013-09-04 14:50:09] * CopyCat has an idea. "Oh, we could test it by pushing some food through the fence and seeing if it cooks."
  81. [2013-09-04 14:50:15] * Bookwright "The ones related to the microwave weapon are all purely small scale. The other schematics deal with the design of the RD-E security robot, as well as holographic related things."
  82. [2013-09-04 14:50:28] * Comrade_Lost "but it could use a similar principle, could it?" starts checking the sheets twice
  83. [2013-09-04 14:50:55] * Bookwright shrugs. "Maybe it could. I really don't know."
  84. [2013-09-04 14:52:56] <Kkat> 3Beyond the communal research area are several more isolated labs, a security office and finally a vault door.
  85. [2013-09-04 14:54:05] * Noble_Heart frowns, continues onwards, poking her head into the isolated labs along the way briefly. She had doubts there would be anything of particular value to them, but it couldn't hurt to glance in.
  86. [2013-09-04 14:54:51] * Comrade_Lost "i'd say that i could start checing on the door terminal while you give a try at the offices? i'm not really into schematis anyway, unless you fin something to capture a coltfriend..."
  87. [2013-09-04 14:55:22] * Bookwright finishes his inspection of the schematics. "Okay, who wants to find out what's behind the big metal door?"
  88. [2013-09-04 14:55:44] * Kid rose her hoof.
  89. [2013-09-04 14:56:10] * CopyCat looks at Kid, then does the same.
  90. [2013-09-04 14:57:16] * Bookwright is quietly dancing to a tune only he can hear.
  91. [2013-09-04 14:58:28] * Kid "Never met a big iron door that I didn't like what held behind it." Pause. "Question."
  92. [2013-09-04 15:00:38] * Kid "How we gon' get behind that big metal door?"
  93. [2013-09-04 15:01:15] * Noble_Heart frowns, looking into the security office. "Perhaps there will be a way inside within?" She moves to try and open the door to security and check inside.
  94. [2013-09-04 15:01:25] * Comrade_Lost is working on the vault door "i'm working on it, gimme a moment, you don't want this terminal to shut us out"
  95. [2013-09-04 15:01:27] * Bookwright smirks. "Have you tried knocking, Kid?"
  96. [2013-09-04 15:02:06] <Kkat> 3One of the labs was clearly dedicated to building prototype designs for the RD-E, with several enclosed power-pods holding different models, partially assembled sprite-bots on workstations, and further schematics adorning wallspace.
  97. [2013-09-04 15:02:14] * Kid veers a creepy lit-up eye at Bookie. "You go first."
  98. [2013-09-04 15:02:33] * Bookwright "Sure!"
  99. [2013-09-04 15:03:03] * Bookwright walks up to the big giant enormous metal door of hugeness and bangs on it loudly. "Hellooooo! Anybody home?"
  100. [2013-09-04 15:04:24] * CopyCat peers into the RD-E lab. "Heeey... do you think we could use the stuff in here to personalise Sweet-E? You know, make her look more... Sweet."
  101. [2013-09-04 15:05:20] <Kkat> 3One of the labs appears to have been dedicated to the design of crystaline monsters, presumably the research that lead to the crystal battle ewes. Even at a glance, it is clear that much of the effort for that project had to be outsourced, or at least handled by other Stable-Tec facilities.
  102. [2013-09-04 15:05:53] <Kkat> 3Pink-E cheers CopyCat's idea.
  103. [2013-09-04 15:09:48] <Kkat> 3Sweet-E swoops into the security office (which is surprisingly unsecure, the open-flow design making it look more like a receptionist desk) and starts poking at the terminals.
  104. [2013-09-04 15:10:13] * Noble_Heart follows Sweet-E in, curious about the terminals as well. "These are what you used to deactivate the security?"
  105. [2013-09-04 15:11:12] * Kid stops, then looks through the crystal battle ewe room for something to feed Ewey with.
  106. [2013-09-04 15:13:12] * Shatara looks up from various doohickies and notices Kid poking through battle-ewe related things, and decides to help.
  107. [2013-09-04 15:14:52] * Comrade_Lost trots next to the security terminal and waits to see what pink-e is doing
  108. [2013-09-04 15:15:19] <Kkat> 3Sweet-E response, "Yes. There was also something for opening the back room; but when I poked at it, it threatened me."
  109. [2013-09-04 15:15:35] * Noble_Heart frowns, tilting her head to one side. "Let Us see it." She moves up to the terminal to take a look.
  110. [2013-09-04 15:17:42] * Comrade_Lost sits neext to the others at the security station, just in case she's needed
  111. [2013-09-04 15:19:59] <Kkat> 3Kid finds exactly what she is looking for. Crystal Ewe Snacks!
  112. [2013-09-04 15:20:50] * Kid happily nabs them. Yoink! Ewey's gonna be so happy!
  113. [2013-09-04 15:21:01] <Kkat> 3(They look very similar to spark cells.)
  114. [2013-09-04 15:23:03] * Kid prances back with the others. "Ah got some Crystal Ewe Snacks!" She chirped.
  115. [2013-09-04 15:23:05] * CopyCat investigates the RD-E related terminals, looking for some kind of custom paint program.
  116. [2013-09-04 15:23:29] <Kkat> 3Sweet-E has already gotten through the terminal's security. It (she) brings up the access options.
  117. [2013-09-04 15:25:32] <Kkat> 3> open ASDV. Password required. Omega Clearance Required.
  118. [2013-09-04 15:26:49] <Kkat> 3> WARNING: any attempt to enter ASDV by unauthorized entities will result in immediate death and termination.
  119. [2013-09-04 15:28:11] <Kkat> 3> WARNING: Remove glasses before entering ASDV. Failure to do so may result in accidental vaporization.
  120. [2013-09-04 15:28:49] * Shatara looks over the documents and research. Unfortunately, his eyes go al 6_9 seeing nothing but bizzare crystal biology, and decides to go back to looking at clanky things.
  121. [2013-09-04 15:28:57] * Noble_Heart frowns and taps her chin. "This is quite worrying." SHe tilts her head to one side. "It seems they were quite serious about security. Perhaps only those who are close to the original owners of Stable-Tec would be allowed within." She sighs quietly. "We can attempt to bypass security, but it worries Us if We get it wrong."
  122. [2013-09-04 15:29:40] * Bookwright leans over and reads the security terminal. "Remove glasses!? Dammit, I can't /see/ without my glasses! Must be some kind of... eye scan, I guess. I don't think any of us are in the system... yet."
  123. [2013-09-04 15:34:50] * Noble_Heart frowns. "There is a password requirement as well." She sighs quietly. "Do you have any suggestions, Bookwright? We are not familiar with security quite like this. We might be able to break the terminal, but to pass beyond that We are uncertain."
  124. [2013-09-04 15:36:00] * Bookwright "We probably can get the terminal to open the vault door, but I think that we'll need to get ourselves authorized to not be fired upon. Or we could open the door anyways and try to kill anything that attacks us."
  125. [2013-09-04 15:37:06] <Kkat> 3Sweet-E offers to Bookwright, "You and I can hack the system to open the door. But without the right eyeballs, whatever is inside will start shooting."
  126. [2013-09-04 15:37:48] * Bookwright investigates the terminal. Maybe there's a way to authorize new eyeballs? There should be, anyways."
  127. [2013-09-04 15:38:07] * Kid gets back over to the rest, hopefully. "How do we get eyeballs that are in th' system?"
  128. [2013-09-04 15:38:28] <Kkat> 3Sweet-E adds, "You just made me this wonderful peripheral! I don't want it to get vaporized!"
  129. [2013-09-04 15:39:48] * Noble_Heart contemplates that. "Well, what about the Overmare's ID card? Could We use that to authorize new entrants?"
  130. [2013-09-04 15:40:54] * CopyCat calls out from the RD-E lab. "Hey Sweet-E, I'm trying to get you a new paint job!"
  131. [2013-09-04 15:41:35] <Kkat> 3Pink-E cheers. Sweet-E says, "Oh. Thank you!"
  132. [2013-09-04 16:03:00] <Kkat> 3Noble_Heart and Bookwright spend time looking though the security office's system. Bookwright's efforts yield no results, but Noble_Heart finds the system for creating a temporary Omega-Lite security clearance.
  133. [2013-09-04 16:03:13] <Kkat> 3That system is, itself, locked, and is supposed to require an eye-scan from an existing Omega-clearance pony before the program will allow the creation of a temporary clearance.
  134. [2013-09-04 16:04:01] * Noble_Heart frowns and sighs quietly. "This is most annoying. We require an eye-scan to create a new eye-scan!" She shakes her head. "Do you have any suggestions?"
  135. [2013-09-04 16:06:17] * Kid sits down. "... Ah got an idea, but you ain't gon' like it."
  136. [2013-09-04 16:08:14] * Kid shuffles her hooves a little bit uncomfortably. "Didn't we just come from a place that had a bunch of eyeballs? Enough t' put one in my head at least. If they made 'em there, why can't we make a pair that'll fit into one of them scanners?"
  137. [2013-09-04 16:09:48] * Bookwright thinks. "I think... I think I found a way in! I just have to hack into a database here..." He puffs. "This is gonna be hard."
  138. [2013-09-04 16:11:07] * Noble_Heart nods her head and taps her chin. "We suppose you could access the database here then add us. Or perhaps you could utilize the information from this database to fake the results on that one?" She sighs. "We wish you much luck!"
  139. [2013-09-04 16:11:21] * Kid blinks. "Or, uh. Ya'll can jus' do that." She started to feel maybe a little small.
  140. [2013-09-04 16:12:23] * Bookwright rears back from the terminal and thrusts his hooves in the air. "Ha ha! I am invincible!"
  141. [2013-09-04 16:16:22] * CopyCat calls out in a sing-song voice. "Kiiiiid! I need you to help me pick out colours."
  142. [2013-09-04 16:16:53] * Noble_Heart steps over to pat Kid with a wing. "Perhaps your skills would be better suited to helping CopyCat search for her desires?"
  143. [2013-09-04 16:18:31] * Kid kicks a little. "... Fine." She didn't look too happy about being told to go color with the rest of the kids, but it wasn't like she could do anything without a fancy city pony education.
  144. [2013-09-04 16:22:39] <Kkat> 3Bookwright delves back into the terminal, swiftly unlocking all the the retinal scan data for those already Omega-Clearance.
  145. [2013-09-04 16:24:56] * CopyCat has various shades of pinks and lavender up on the screen. "Silly deadly turrets can wait. This is about helping our friends look fabulous! Now, which of these would you choose?"
  146. [2013-09-04 16:26:24] * Bookwright "Now... Now we just have to find an eye scanner and put ourselves in the system." He starts looking around for one.
  147. [2013-09-04 16:26:47] * Kid folds her forelegs and pouts. "Gray 'n a kinda light blue. It'll blend in."
  148. [2013-09-04 16:28:56] <Kkat> 3Pink-E swoops into where CopyCat is. "Oh, she should be alabaster with purple and pink!"
  149. [2013-09-04 16:30:39] <Kkat> 3Fortunately, there is a convenient eye-scanner in the security desk. Along with a couple warm Sparkle-Colas, a stun baton, and three different kinds of paperweights.
  150. [2013-09-04 16:32:14] * Bookwright boots up the eye scanner, takes off his glasses, and images his imagifiers. *ka-FNKTH*
  151. [2013-09-04 16:32:31] * Bookwright "Ow ow ow ow ow ow. That's /really/ bright. Ow."
  152. [2013-09-04 16:35:08] * Noble_Heart chuckles. "It cannot be that bad, can it?" She steps up to add herself to the system as well.

  154. [2013-09-04 16:36:18] * CopyCat grins at Kid. "I'm with Pink-E, she should be pink, purple and white like in her hologram. But which shade is best, do you think?"
