- S-Link 5 - Twilight (N)
- Canterlot High Library
- You decide to spend some time with Twilight.
- As you cross the room, you notice that Twilight looks frazzled.
- More than she has lately, at least.
- In fact, she doesn't even notice you until you sit down across from her.
- Twilight: Ah!
- Twilight brings her book up to her chest, staring at you for several long seconds before recognition sets in.
- Twilight: Oh! [Player], it-it's just you.
- From the bags under her eyes, the fact that she's been burning the midnight oil lately is exceedingly obvious.
- Almost immediately after seeing you, Twilight turns back to her reading.
- >Option 1 - You're looking a little rough there.
- S-Link +0.6
- Twilight gives a small snort.
- Twilight: Is it that obvious?
- Twilight: These last few days have been pretty difficult.
- >Option 2 - Are you feeling OK?
- S-Link +0.2
- Twilight: Yeah. Great. Thanks
- This girl is completely unconvincing in her blatant lies.
- Twilight gives a heavy sigh.
- Twilight: ...I mean, not really.
- >Option 3 - What is going on, Twilight?
- S-Link +1
- Twilight: What does it look like? I'm trying to study.
- You continue to stare at Twilight and she forcefully closes her book before putting it down on the table.
- Twilight: Alright, maybe it's just just studying, but do you really care?
- You nod your head and watch as Twilight's expression softens.
- Twilight: Oh, well...
- Twilight remains quiet for a few moments, then finally begins to speak.
- Twilight: I thought a lot about what we talked about, with relation to Pinkie Pie?
- Twilight: And I realized that it's not just her that I miss; it's all of my friends.
- Twilight: So I've decided to do something about it.
- Twilight: I decided to come up with a away that will let me maximize the time I have with my friends.
- Her lips curl upwards as she pulls out a day planner and places it in front of you.
- You give it a look over.

- You look up at Twilight with an uncertain frown.
- >Option 1 - How is this any different from the usual?
- S-Link +0.6
- Twilight visibly flinches at your question.
- Twilight: Well, of course it's different; before my structure was a lot looser.
- Twilight: Now I have every hour of my day planned out, and I know exactly what I need to be doing, at any time.
- Twilight: More structure means I can devote my time that much more precisely.
- Twilight: Trust me, it's perfect.
- >Option 2 - You can't be serious.
- S-Link +0.2
- Twilight: What? Of course I'm serious!
- Despite the attempt at assurance, Twilight quickly looks over the chart again.
- Pursing her lips, she looks thoughtful, and then takes out a pen.
- Twilight: Although, you do have a point. I haven't fully mapped out my REM sleep patterns...
- Twilight: I might be able to get away with less than six hours of sleep.
- Twilight: I'll need to test that a bit more to be sure.
- >Option 3 - This is a terrible idea.
- S-Link +1
- Twilight looks at you in surprise.
- Twilight: [Player]... I mean, I know it's a lot, but you can't just say that.
- Twilight: Getting into the McGuffin Program is important to me, and so are my friends.
- Twilight: I've done the math and this is the most effective use of my time right now.
- Twilight takes a good hard look at the schedule.
- Twilight: ...even if it does seem a little overwhelming...
- She dons a pained smile.
- Twilight: I bet you think that's silly; I mean, I have a chance to chase my dreams-
- Twilight: -and instead I'm regretting not being able to spend time with my friends.
- Twilight gives a strained laugh and shakes her head.
- Twilight: I'm so wound up that I can't even think straight, but I can't stop moving forward either.
- Twilight: I'm just, stuck.
- There's a pause, and then a she looks up to you with hope shining in her eyes.
- Twilight: Have you got any outside perspective that you can offer?
- Unfortunately, even after wracking your brain, you've got nothing to offer. You tell her as much.
- Twilight's shoulders sag and she buries her face in her hands. She stays quiet for a long while, then speaks in a soft, pained voice.
- Twilight: [Player], I like having you around, but I don't think you should come to the library anymore.
- Twilight: Please don't think it's me pushing you away...
- Twilight: Oh, who am I kidding; it's exactly that.
- Twilight: But I really need to focus on this.
- You nod and gather your things. As you move to the door, Twilight calls out again:
- Twilight: If you do come up with something that could help, let me know? It doesn't look like I'm going anywhere anytime soon...
- Another nod is the best you can manage. It doesn't provide either of you with any comfort.
