- Twilight S-Link 10 (N) [S]
- When you enter the library today, you see that Twilight is looking off into space.
- Her eyes are unfocused, as though intent on gazing through the wall in front of her and beyond to the horizon.
- She seems oblivious to the world around her. Do you approach?
- >Yes
- >No
- When you call her name, Twilight visibly flinches and pulls herself back from wherever her mind had been.
- Her eyes are unfocused for a moment, but after they settle on you, a smile spreads across her lips with surprising speed.
- Twilight: [Player]! Just who I was hoping to see. There's something that I have to tell you.
- >Option 1 - Twilight, I had no idea you felt that way about me.
- Twilight pauses for an instant, her cheeks coloring, then gives a little snort and shakes her head.
- Twilight: You can be such a goof sometimes. But this is more important than that.
- Twilight: I just received my acceptance into McGuffin!
- >Option 2 - Have you heard any news?
- Twilight: The best news I could have hoped for actually.
- Even with that out on the table, Twilight can't contain the little squeal of joy that escapes her lips.
- Twilight: I've been accepted into the McGuffin program!
- >Option 3 - You've unexpectedly been crowned Princess of a far-away land that's known for its horses?
- Twilight stares at you in visible confusion, sputtering her response.
- Twilight: What? No. Where on earth would you get an idea like that?
- After you shrug your shoulders, Twilight shakes her head and offers a cheeky grin.
- Twilight: I guess that weirdness is just part of who you are. But no, it's about the McGuffin Program.
- Her wide smile returns.
- Twilight: I'm in!
- Having gotten her news out, Twilight gives a heavy, satisfied sigh and stares into your eyes.
- Twilight: It might sound strange, but I really do owe you a great deal for your help.
- Twilight: If it wasn't for you, I don't think I would have realized what was bothering me about my approach.
- Twilight: So, thank you for that.
- Twilight breaks eye contact, looking down at her fidgeting fingers for a moment.
- Twilight: [Player], if it's all right, I'd like to ask you one thing.
- With a quick breath, Twilight looks up at you again, the words spilling out of her mouth as soon as she opens it.
- Twilight: Would you please come to Sugar Cube Corner with me?
- Twilight: You see, I received a text from Pinkie Pie asking me to come out to see her.
- Twilight: I think it's probably because she has a surprise party planned. But I would really like you to be with me in that case.
- The smile returns to her face in earnest.
- Twilight: You did play a huge part after all, and it wouldn't feel right without you. Even just for a little while?
- You consider your options. But, after looking at Twilight, it quickly becomes apparent that there is only one. So-
- [Sugar Cube Corner]
- -that is how you find yourself walking in through the double doors of the shop a little while later.
- An explosive pop from up above causes you and Twilight to jump, before bits of colored confetti rain down.
- Leaping into your sight, Pinkie Pie leads the cheer of the entire store.
- Pinkie Pie: Congratulations, Twilight!
- Amid the applause, Pinkie prances up to the two of you, all smiles as usual.
- Pinkie Pie: Hiya, [Player], thanks for coming out to Twilight's special party! You don't mind if we borrow her for a little while?
- It's hard to argue with Pinkie, and even harder when Twilight is quickly swept up in a wave of students.
- The bookish girl gives you a look before she's assailed on all sides by curious peers, leaving you alone with Pinkie.
- Pinkie Pie: So, I suppose we have you to thank for your help?
- Turning your attention to the apron-wearing girl beside you, you see that she's wearing a softer, sweeter expression.
- Pinkie Pie: Don't bother hiding it, we know you did a lot for Twilight. More than we could.
- Pinkie Pie: Twilight's going to get to be a part of something exciting next year, and we've got our friend back too.
- She stares at you for a moment more before slapping you hard on the back and giggling, the sweetness replaced with cheer.
- Pinkie Pie: You're really something, [Player]. Enjoy the party, because it wouldn't have happened without you!
- And, just like that, the hostess charges off to attend to whatever ends up going awry.
- You spend a little time making small talk and rubbing elbows with your peers, but when Pinkie decides to break out the dance music, you need a break.
- All those study sessions in the library and Twilight's house have really sapped your enthusiasm for loud celebrations.
- Stepping outside, you savor the fresh air of the gathering night and look up at the stars.
- Amidst the steady thrum of the music behind the walls, you hear the audible squeak of a door opening, along with a familiar voice.
- Twilight: Phew, finally.
- Twilight steps outside, looking a little frazzled, but happy all the same. She spots you in an instant, and moves next to you.
- Twilight: I guess we had the same idea about getting away for a little while.
- Leaning back against the building, Twilight holds her hands together and joins you in looking up.
- There is a long silence before Twilight speaks again.
- Twilight: Hey, [Player]? I just want you to know, I meant what I said earlier. You know, about how much you helped?
- Twilight releases her grip long enough to play with her hair for a few seconds, before sliding it in place behind her ear.
- Twilight: Even knowing my friends, I don't think there is anyone quite like you. You really are one of a kind.
- Another beat of silence, just long enough to fill the air with a growing sense of anxiety.
- Twilight: That's why I'd like to ask you something, if it's okay.
- Twilight clutches her hands together again and plays with the hem of her skirt. Her voice is quivering and halting.
- Twilight: I'd like to leave the party early and thank you privately. What do you think?
- The words hang in the air as Twilight waits for your reply, unable to meet your eyes for more than a glance at a time.
- This is your big chance...
- >Option 1 - We can do that later, Twilight. This is your party. You've worked hard for this and should celebrate your friends.
- Twilight nods her head and lets loose a long sigh.
- Twilight: You're right. I mean, what's the point of all this work if I don't take time to rest?
- Twilight: I guess I was worried you might have been feeling sick of me since we spent so much time together.
- Twilight: But I'll hold you to that promise, [Player].
- Twilight smiles.
- Twilight: Don't think you're going to get out of letting me thank you.
- The two of you stand in silence for a little while longer before Twilight pushes herself up from the building.
- Twilight: Well, I should get back inside before people start asking questions.
- She dusts off the back of her skirt, but doesn't move away.
- Three heartbeats later, she leans forward and plants a peck on your lips.
- Red-faced and smiling wider than when she told you the news earlier, Twilight steps backwards towards the door, keeping eye contact.
- Twilight: Consider that a taste, [Player]. I'll see you around school.
- She makes it another step before giggling and hurrying back inside Sugar Cube Corner.
- The door opens and closes, leaving you alone again.
- You linger for a little while longer, letting the feelings stirring in your body take hold.
- Not wanting to cause a scene by going back inside, you head home for the night.
- [Fulfilled Dream? - option to get intimate with Twilight later]
- >Option 2 - I'm not sure that's a good idea, Twilight. There are a lot of things that need your attention. you should take care of those.
- Twilight stares at you for a long moment after you reply, her face a still mask.
- Then, her lip quivers.
- Twilight: [Player]...
- She gulps, her shoulders shaking a bit at the exertion behind it. But she takes several seconds to continue.
- Twilight: You're probably right. I've spent a lot of time ignoring important people in my life.
- Twilight reaches up plays with her hair.
- Twilight: I was just hoping that maybe, you would be one of those people.
- Twilight: But we've spent a lot of time together already, so I can understand. We need to take a little break.
- Despite the confidence in her words, you can see tears beginning to build in her eyes.
- Her explanation quickens.
- Twilight: I just hope this won't keep you from stopping by the library, or even the house from time to time.
- Twilight: I-
- Her voice cracks, if only for an instant. But then, an honest, slightly tearful smile crosses her face.
- Twilight: I'd miss you.
- With an audible, slightly stuffy, sniff, Twilight sighs and leans forward to plant a kiss on your cheek.
- It's brief, and she quickly moves back towards the door.
- Twilight: Alright [Player], I need to get back before people get the wrong idea about us.
- Twilight: I'll see you around school, okay?
- Without waiting for a response, Twilight slips back inside Sugar Cube Corner, leaving you alone again.
- You watch after the door for a while, but it's clear she's not coming back out.
- Lingering for a little while longer, you struggle to parse out the feelings inside your chest.
- With returning to the party out of the question without causing a scene, the only option left to you is to return home.
- And so you go, leaving a successful, if hurt, girl behind.
- [Fulfilled Dream? - possibly locking out future romantic Twilight interactions?]
- >Option 3 - Sure; I knew you couldn't resist me. But are you really okay with leaving your own celebration early?
- Twilight's eyes gradually slide up to meet yours; her expression caught somewhere between excitement, anxiety, and disbelief.
- Twilight: Really?
- When you bob your head, she laughs and flings her arms around your shoulders.
- Twilight: Oh gosh, I can't believe this!
- Pushing herself back at arms length, she adopts a stern look.
- Twilight: No, I really mean I can't believe this; even with your insistence that I find you irresistible, I'm still ecstatic.
- Twilight: But, I guess that doesn't matter.
- Twilight's smile returns, softening her entire demeanor in the process.
- Twilight: I suppose that's one of the things that I have come to lo- really, really like about you.
- Twilight: And don't worry about the party; Pinkie told me she can handle keeping everyone busy.
- The corner of Twilight's lip curls into an inviting smirk.
- Twilight: She said that no one would even notice I was gone, so I'm counting on you to make up for all the attention I'm missing out on.
- Twilight giggles, leaning in close again. However, this time she goes for your lips.
- The two of you stand there for a long while, not wanting to break the kiss until it's necessary to breathe.
- As you break apart to gulp down air, Twilight still continues to smile.
- Twilight: So, [Player], I guess it's time for a special study session. I'll be counting on your support...
- You nod your head and the two of you leave Sugar Cube Corner together, without a second thought
- [Fulfilled Dream? - Proceed directly to lewds]
