How to install GAP (GIMP Animation Package) on GIMP 2.8 in W

How to install GAP (GIMP Animation Package) on GIMP 2.8 in Windows 64 bit.

Method 1:
1. Download GAP for GIMP 2.6 here: http://goo.gl/O2VLk (This download can be found on http://fav.me/d28ngyt)
Download it to any folder, preferably a downloads folder or desktop.

2. Find the GAP folder you just downloaded. Right click this file and click "Extract All..." Extract it to the same location, which should be default.

3. Open the extracted GAP folder. Open GAP.2.6_win. Open GAP-installer. Open Gimp-GAP-2.6.0-Setup2. Click Yes, or Continue. Click OK for English. Click Next. Click I Agree. Click Browse. Click your user. Click GIMP 2.8. Click plug-ins. Click OK.  (This path can also be found through Computer, drive C:, your user, and so on.)

4. Click Install.

5. Open GIMP. (Restart GIMP if it was open during GAPs installation.) In the Menu bar, between "Filters" and "Windows", check if "Video" is listed. If it is, you've successfully installed GAP. If not, try Method 2:


Method 2:
1. Download GAP Binaries here: http://goo.gl/IbKBa (This download can be found on http://registry.gimp.org/node/18398)
Download it to any folder, preferably a downloads folder or desktop.

2. Find the gimp-gap-2.6.0-64bits.zip file you just downloaded. Right click this file and click "Extract All.." Extract it to the same location, which should be default.

3. Open the extracted gimp-gap-2.6.0-64bits folder. Open gimp-gap-2.6.0-64bits. Open plug-ins. Select all of these files. Right click them and click "Copy."

4. In another window, open your user folder. (click Start / Computer / C: / Users / *your user*.) Open .gimp-2.8. Open plug-ins. Right click in this folder and click "Paste."
Notes: This plug-ins folder is not the same folder found through Program Files. Do not right click and paste your coped files into the "lib" and "share" folders. They should be pasted under these folders, not in them.

5. Open GIMP. (Restart GIMP if it was open during GAPs installation.) In the Menu bar, between "Filters" and "Windows", check if "Video" is listed. If it is, you've successfully installed GAP. If not, then I don't know what to do because this is how I did it and I think I would otherwise be fucked. Happy GIMPing!
