 in Gatheri
 To give a better idea - Gatheri basically has a lot of minor mage training - leading to a good amount of feats like Soul of the North and such that allow them to use cantrips and beyond that its overall Sorc/Wiz % of population is higher.
 Normally that type of training is more informal - its basic stuff done either by a mage who's through or someone else - your father could have taught you the basics for example and as it became clear you had more of a gift you went to learn more
 Does that work with what you were thinking ?

 To put it basically - in Gatheri there isn't much in the way of true hedge mages.

The Grey Wolves could help some but at some point they'd probably have you work with the Order abit to round off your training. Remember the two organizations are close as a whole to the level their former leader was the head of the armies whenever war struck over the head of the Order of the Sword
 well and because he's just better at it too. But thats not really a fair comparison for most generals

 Given the fact that most of Gatheri has good communications and it feels like you want hsi start to be a little removed from the main area - perhaps his parents are in one of the further out villages

 just one thing - remember all Gatheri Villages walls are out of proportion with medival equiviliants. This is intentional because of the fact there's monsters around and such. Now I'll open my notes and see here what far flung areas there are right before the Second Mage wars
