So they start with what I suppose is an astronaut at home watching the launch and I immediately go "wait why are they showing this guy?" then I look at the character that is supposedly in charge of the mission and she looks shaky the entire time (as if for example they skipped some checks just to push through quicker), and then I immediately go "oh now I know, they're going to blow up the rocket so they can then make it so that astronaut that didn't go will go on the next mission!" aaaaand lo a behold the rocket blows up. I haven't watched past that so IDK if he does end up going on the next mission but my prediction is definitely yes
