  16. Aug 06 17:31:41 <Latrehkiks> Latrehkiks rubs at his snout idly and humns. "Well, walking around looking for a place never hurt anyone."

  23. Aug 06 17:38:38 <SqueeGM> Latrehkiks leads the way, and has barely walked down the street before he hears a voice calling out to him. "Hey! Hey you! You want some spineboar burgers? I have them! Cheap, tastes good!"

  25. Aug 06 17:39:39 * Lehkurehn shudders at the mention of spineboars. He's not quite sure why.
  26. Aug 06 17:39:44 <SqueeGM> He hears another voice from the other direction. "No! You don't want his meat. It is dirt and shit! Come and buy a kebab! We have cold drinks!"
  27. Aug 06 17:40:20 <SqueeGM> The first one yells back. "Hey, fuck you! Don't listen to him! He undercooks his kebabs, and does not wash them! You will get sick if you eat his food!"
  28. Aug 06 17:42:27 <Latrehkiks> "Well, that was particularly quick." he laughs some, looking at the stalls. "Although admittedly I don't want to listen to either of these guys if they're fighting like this. Shall we see what else there is?" he whispers to Lehkurehn.

  31. Aug 06 17:45:13 * Lehkurehn chuckles. "I feel aiding either would just fuel their rivalry."
  32. Aug 06 17:46:33 <Latrehkiks> "That too." He spots Kerosis sneaking away and follows after. "See anything that'd be good, Kerosis?"
  33. Aug 06 17:47:28 <SqueeGM> "Where are you going? You will not find better meat in the city!" the first one calls after them. After a bit more walking they stumble across another person, leaning out from a counter built into the building. "Hello!" he calls out. "I have food!"

  35. Aug 06 17:52:26 <SqueeGM> "Wait, come back! At least look at it!" There are more stalls on the sides of the street than there are people, and they all yell incessantly at anyone who comes near, whether it's Kerosis and her group, a passing wagon, a group of travelers or one on their own, or a towndog unlucky enough to wander into eyeshot. The products they offer are diverse, but their methods for selling them are mostly the same.

  37. Aug 06 17:54:29 <Latrehkiks> "Hmm.. Well, I guess it mostly depends on what our money can afford us at this point with this many stalls." he ponders aloud, looking over the various stalls. "Lehkurehn?"
  38. Aug 06 17:58:43 <Lehkurehn> "I think we can afford most things. Get whatever you want. Meet back here." He drops a few pennies in both their palms before looking for some cheap kebabs.
  39. Aug 06 17:59:53 <SqueeGM> The kebab vendor he is approaching is helping another customer when he approaches, but leans over to greet him. "Hello please wait your turn and I will be right with you do not go anywhere!" He wheezes and clears his throat, then accepts some coins from the dog in front of him.
  40. Aug 06 18:00:23 * Kerosis just kinda keeps glancing around from stall to stall, afraid to upset anyone by snubbing them for a competitor.
  41. Aug 06 18:01:23 <Latrehkiks> Latrehkiks thumbs at the coins in his hand now as he goes to find some stews.
  42. Aug 06 18:04:10 <SqueeGM> Latrehkiks leaves Kerosis standing awkwardly in the middle of the street and wanders around in search of a stand with bowls. The tombdog in front of Lehkurehn leaves and the vendor beckons him forward. "Yes hello would you like a large or a small kebab?"

  44. Aug 06 18:07:44 <SqueeGM> The vendor selects a stick from a can full of them, opens the top on a clay pot sitting on some glowing ashes, and sticks it in a few times until he pulls it out with three assorted pieces of meat stuck on it. "Would you like hot sauce on this?"

  46. Aug 06 18:09:44 <SqueeGM> He takes it under the counter for a moment and hands it to him covered in a layer of thick red sauce. "Three pennies, please."

  48. Aug 06 18:15:35 <SqueeGM> The vendor takes the cash and starts yelling for more customers. Latrehkiks, after accidentally hitting up an ice cream vendor, finds someone who shouts at him about stew. "Stranger-greetings offered, what kind would you like?" the dog asks him.
  49. Aug 06 18:17:35 <Latrehkiks> Latrehkiks walks over to the vendor and hmns a bit. "Well, how much would a small bowl of a meat stew cost?"
  50. Aug 06 18:19:44 <SqueeGM> "Two pennies," the vendor replies, and grabs a wooden bowl, pouring hot water into it from a metal jug and scooping some lumps of meat into it, before adding some seasoning and sprinkling on a little spice, handing it over.
  51. Aug 06 18:21:12 * Latrehkiks takes the bowl and hands over a pair of pennies to the vendor. "Thank you." he adds, before he starts consuming the stew.
  52. Aug 06 18:21:59 <SqueeGM> "Bring the bowl back and I will pay you," he says before Latrehkiks leaves. Meanwhile, a carriage-driver shouts at Kerosis to get out of the way.

  54. Aug 06 18:25:01 <SqueeGM> Pekohxix appears as the carriage passes Kerosis by. "Everything alright?" he asks.
  55. Aug 06 18:25:01 * Latrehkiks would take his time eating his stew, not wandering too far from where he got it as he intends on returning the bowl, but enough to see what else there is in the area.

  57. Aug 06 18:26:34 <Kerosis> "Yes, I'm just being a bit indecisive is all. I've never really had to order food from one person with another shouting not to."
  58. Aug 06 18:28:04 <SqueeGM> "They are out to get a customer, I suppose. What matters is what you want, not what they want. You have the money, after all. What do you usually get?"
  59. Aug 06 18:30:33 <Kerosis> "Well, I don't eat out often... and usually just have what everyone else recommends. I suppose those kebabs look fairly good though."
  60. Aug 06 18:30:45 * Kerosis heads over to order one before losing her nerve again.
  61. Aug 06 18:31:13 <SqueeGM> Pekohxix ushers Kerosis in that direction and the vendor greets her the same way he greeted Lehkurehn. "Yes hello would you like a large or a small kebab?"

  63. Aug 06 18:33:20 <SqueeGM> The vendor starts making one, ignoring her question. He grabs a stick and impales three pieces of meat from the jar. "And what would your friend like? Oh nevermind, he is dead, I am sorry. Would you like hot sauce on this?"

  65. Aug 06 18:34:59 <SqueeGM> He dips it in the sauce while Pekohxix folds his arms behind her, then hands the stick to her. "Three coins please, thank you."
  66. Aug 06 18:36:25 * Kerosis says "Thank you," pays, snags, and eats... then looks to see where the others wandered off to.
  67. Aug 06 18:37:54 * Latrehkiks has, by now, finished his stew and returned to the vendor he got it from to return the bowl.
  68. Aug 06 18:39:35 * Lehkurehn has returned to the meeting place and is enjoying the din of the city.
  69. Aug 06 18:41:19 <SqueeGM> Lehkurehn, meanwhile, has wandered quite some ways by himself and on his way back. He passes three towndogs kneeling down over a sum of money and tossing dice, who don't so much as glance at him, and an armed Xerehn Housedog leaning against the wall, who lazily tracks him with her eyes as he walks by. Then some rounded dome buildings, and a bench sitting inside a half-circle pool of water.

  71. Aug 06 18:42:17 <SqueeGM> Latrehkiks puts the bowl on the counter, and the vendor glances at it, takes it, and tosses it haphazardly into a soapy bin of water inside the building, before flipping him a Lefixix coin.

  73. Aug 06 18:43:08 * Latrehkiks catches the coin! And then wanders back to the agreed meeting place himself.

  75. Aug 06 18:44:14 * Lehkurehn notices and waves them over. "Hey Kero! Doctor. What'dya get?"
  76. Aug 06 18:45:08 <Kerosis> "A kebab. Fairly good. I suppose we should all try to find an inn next?"
  77. Aug 06 18:47:02 <Lehkurehn> "Mmm... Kebabs. Haeliksis was handling that but we should find him or the others at some point. We probably should of had better communication on that front, eh?"
  78. Aug 06 18:52:18 <Latrehkiks> Latrehkiks makes his way back to Kerosis and Lehkurehn while he rubs at a coin in his hand. "Ah, there you two are. So where do we go now?" he asks.

  84. Aug 06 18:56:29 * Latrehkiks snaps his head to Haeliksis, somewhat in surprise before he laughs a little. "Or does it?"

  86. Aug 06 19:02:03 <SqueeGM> Haeliksis trots up and looks around, frowning. "You're what, a block or two from where I dropped you off? A little disappointing. I thought you'd be more adventurous, at least, Lehkurehn."

  99. Aug 06 19:20:04 <SqueeGM> Haeliksis hums as Lehkurehn leads, and follows closely as they move along the main street. It's not hard to find signs advertising a stranger's inn... but unfortunately, there seem to be multiple of those as well.

  103. Aug 06 19:28:54 * Latrehkiks nods to Kerosis. "Basically, but it sometimes means better quality of service, too. Probably be best to find one that won't cost us an arm and a leg, even on that dog's money." he states, taking the lead as he tries to find a middle-ground Inn, one not too crowded, but also that looks to be furnished pleasantly enough.

The bottom floor is one big open room, with a lower-set sort of pit area with a bunch of tables in it for people to hang out in, and windows all around the place. There is a corpsebound at the counter, spinning pennies on the table to see how long they'll stay up.

  178. Aug 06 20:54:54 <SqueeGM> Meanwhile, Kerosis finds her room, unlocks it, and enters it. It's pretty plain; just a window, a bed, a bath, and a table with a chair.

  180. Aug 06 21:00:14 <SqueeGM> A medical instruction lesson later, Haeliksis and Lehkurehn end up at a gambling den on the west side of town.
