  52. Secret Service agent Frank Horrigan couldn't save Kennedy, but he's determined not to let a clever assassin take out this president.
  53. Secret Service Agent Frank Horrigan is a fairly successful agent working for the president, yet the guilt of not being able to save President Kennedy back in the 60's still haunts him. When a lunatic assassin named Booth aka Mitch Leary begins to haunt and torment Frank with phone calls about his failure to save Kennedy and the threats to assassinate the president, Frank must take action and protect the presidents at all costs-even if it causes him humiliation. Does Frank have what it takes to take a bullet?
  54. In the Line of Fire is an great thriller. Its realistic and yet exciting. The script is well writen, leaving room for drama and character development. The best thing in the film is the performance of Clint Eastwood(who,in my opinion, makes the best role in his career). He really brings the character of Frank Horrigan to live. The other cast members deserve the honours as well, particually John Malkovich. In overall Wolfgan Petersen has directed an fantastic thriller that should be considered as an classic. I give it 9 out of 10!!!
  55. This was a rather good thriller starring Clint Eastwood as a secret service man who once again goes on active duty to be a bodyguard for the president of the United States. John Malkovich plays a man who is determined to assassinate the current president and once he finds out Eastwood's character was one of the men who was with JFK during his assassination he begins taunting Eastwood's character. Rather good movie, though it is made much better thanks to Eastwood and Malkovich's presence in the film. There is a bit of action in this one and some humor as well. The movie at times moves a bit slowly though, but it is nothing that is really going to detract from the movie a whole lot. Rene Russo also stars in this one and plays a love interest for Clint and plays an agent also looking out for the president, her and Clint's scene where they try to get intimate is one of the more humorous parts in the movie. There is also an interesting scene in which Malkovich makes a rather unique gun capable of evading detection and it all leads up to a rather thrilling conclusion. A very good end to the film to say the least. Malkovich was up for an academy award for his role as the would be assailant, but the award ended up going to Tommy Lee Jones for his role in the "Fugitive". I have to give a slight edge to Tommy, this role is one that really does not differ all that much from Malkovich's usual role.
  56. Petersen takes what could have been a muddled motion picture and structures it perfectly, creating a strong piece of entertainment. It helps, of course, that he has a capable cast.
  57. The old British BBFC 15 versions are all cut by approx. 8 seconds. Several death scenes were affected, e.g. the killing with a plastic bag, the breaking of necks and a shootout. All cuts were waived for the Blu-ray release. An empty pistol is considerably lighter than one with a clip loaded, an untrained civilian might not be able to tell the difference, but someone with proficient firearms training can. This is not an exact science, however, as it does not account for chambered rounds. Horrigan could tell by the weight that there was not a clip in the pistol. There could have still been one in the chamber, but his instincts suggested there was not, and in this instance, his instincts proved right. He also thumbs back the hammer allowing him to see there is no round in the chamber. a5c7b9f00b
