- Hey, got a question about csl. Is it possible for us to switch players from our main team to our academy and vise versa?
- The way our esports program is structured allows for that but it's tough to do with csl
- They're both in jv1
- LinkrayToday at 12:17 PM
- No, once you've played for a team you're locked onto that team for the whole season
- MythbranToday at 12:18 PM
- Is there a way you guys can update the rules for that? It seems pretty couter intuitive to lock our an academy and main roster from making changes
- Other teams are having the same problem right now from what I've seen and the people I've talked to
- LinkrayToday at 12:20 PM
- I'd suggest leaving that feedback in our end of season survey. Currently the rule is in place to prevent people from flooding the tournament with teams and then reconcentrating to the teams that have more active players/have done well.
- I'm
- I'm sure you've noticed that there are a lot of inactive teams in our tournaments as it is
- MythbranToday at 12:21 PM
- Yea I noticed that, I'm not necessarily saying open it up to every team but having a college register two teams as a main and academy and allowing players to shift between those teams
- That wouldn't really affect inactive teams
- LinkrayToday at 12:23 PM
- Sure, I understand why some teams would be inconvenienced by the rule as it is. If it's hurting more teams than it's helping then we will change it
- MythbranToday at 12:24 PM
- It just seems like a rule that doesn't have a place in a competitive setting. At least not in it's current form
- I understand locking players to a specific team so they're not all over the place playing for every team they can, but having two rosters linked so that one can be a practice team and the other a main roster seems normal
- But you said if other teams are inconvenienced by it you'll change it. I'll see if I can find some other people in a similar situation and have them jump on board
- I have a few people I've been talking to already so I'll see if they can PM you
- LinkrayToday at 12:26 PM
- Please don't. I do not have the power to change the rule and it is highly unlikely that it will be changed this season
- You can provide your input/thoughts in the end of season survey and we will review at the end of the year. I think last year we also invited some coordinator's to provide feedback in a round table type discussion
- MythbranToday at 12:28 PM
- End of season doesn't really work for us. We're changing up our rosters to better reflect player skill level and require that change to be in place to continue through csl
- I wont have people dm you though. Is there someone I can talk to about this change though? Someone who has that power whether it be for this season or next
- LinkrayToday at 12:31 PM
- it's not going to happen this season. If you try to escalate, it will be sent back down to us and you'll get the same response.
- MythbranToday at 12:39 PM
- So basically we're not allowed to change our rosters if we're competing in csl
- Between our main and academy team
- LinkrayToday at 12:39 PM
- you can add new players but you can't swap between teams
- MythbranToday at 12:50 PM
- Ok
- MythbranToday at 1:29 PM
- Is there any way that you can make an exception for this rule in our current situation, maybe a test run of what it would look like if it's changed for next season? I'm going to be putting in a change request for next season and would even be happy to sit down with you guys to discuss what my idea is to better team growth and get your feedback on it
- LinkrayToday at 2:00 PM
- No, we're not going to make an exception for one arbitrary team as that would be unfair to others
