- Marshalling at Rhegium, the romans began their sacrifice to Neptune, a bull. But before they could draw the blade across its throat it broke free and ran into the countryside. Scipio declares this is a good omen for Neptune wished the animal to roam free and they would not interfere.
- The slave fleet can be seen on the opposing shore, smaller but many of them are former sailors themselves before enslaved and they are fighting for a powerful cause.
