  30. ► What is The Valkarion Continuity?

  32. The Valkarion Continuity is basically the origin story universe of the T'koi Empire, Viral Units, and all other currently known factions therein. The laws that govern this universe differ greatly from the universe we know, as there are many technologies and mythical concepts which exist within this universe that currently do not within our own. This places our story universe well within the realms of proper Sci-Fi/Fantasy. Within this universe many different alien species and mythical creatures exist, as well as profoundly advanced technologies and magic.

More importantly, The Valkarion Continuity here within SL is a community which revolves around this universe, which focuses on a combination of roleplay elements and FPS style combat utilizing (for now) the LLCS combat system, combined with TECK, which is a broadly diverse armor system utilizing multiple elements/damage types (TECK - Thermal, Energy, Chemical, Kinetic). In the near future, we may abandon LLCS entirely in favor of a proper HUD based system, allowing for more immersion with less grief potential.

Groups that participate within this community will be held to certain standards, and will be integrated into the Codex of The Valkarion Continuity, essentially making them canon within the universe itself, after they have met certain criteria and agreed to follow the guidelines and laws of the Continuity itself as set forth by its governing body, the Arbiters.

  38. ► Will this community participate in other LLCS based communities, such as the SLMC?

  40. While our goal is to create a unique environment differing from the normal LLCS experience, at this time we will actively participate in External Operation into other LLCS regions. Since our founding faction (The T'koi Empire) is formerly an SLMC group, we are currently equipped to go un such excursions, unlike other heavily roleplay based groups that have made such attempts.

  42. ► What is TECK? Is it compatible with LBA?
  43.  
  44. TECK is essentially another form of listen based armor. However, it operates on a different principle than standardized LBA, but will be able to receive damage from LBA munitions. LBA damage input will, however, always automatically register as the "Kinetic" damage type by default. Unless a munition is specifically tagged with a TECK specific damage warhead, it will always default to the Kinetic damage type. So the answer is yes, yes it will, for the time being. The TECK system will be further explained as development is ongoing.

  46. ► What does this mean for TIAF? Is the group closing? Are we ceasing combat operations?

  48. No. The T'koi Empire/T'koi Imperial Armed Forces is, in fact, restructuring itself and becoming much more organized. The only major change is the fact that the group will be rebranding itself from SLMC (Second Life Military Community) to SLCC (Second Life Combat Community) under the Valkarion Continuity. Combat operations against SLMC groups will still commence, but as external operations (Explained later). We hold ourselves to much higher standards than the SLMC, within which there has been many instances of grief, doxxing, extreme personal harassment, etcetera. We can no longer tolerate this sort of behavior, and thusly will not formally associate ourselves with "SLMC", but rather we will establish our own community; a better, stronger, more organized and stable community than the toxicity which we are leaving behind.

  50. ► What does this mean for our relations with SLMC groups?

  52. Little to nothing, except for the fact that all of our previous hostilities will effectively reset. This means SLMC groups that were once DEFCON 1 or K-BAM will be reset, and since we will be a foreign community participating in activities within theirs, we will change our approach drastically. It essentially means that we will strive to be better than the SLMC groups on all levels. This means that we will no longer utilize excessive force against them when we are being griefed. We will instead gather evidence of their behavior to demonstrate to potential new members the difference between their community and ours, and demonstrate that we will not cater to such behavior in any way. If we are mistreated or abused, we will gather what we can and simply leave. No arguments will be held with members of SLMC groups. The response will be silence and withdrawal. If they don't want combat from our community, so be it.

  54. ► Will this have any drastic effect on our home regions?

  56. Yes and No. For the time being, Veyla Prime and Sovereign Skies will remain as semi-neutral combat grounds, open to the public to do LLCS combat in. "Semi-Neutral" because the region is run and administrated by our faction, and so is still subject to our rules and standards, thusly to call it true neutral would be inappropriate. In the forseeable future, however, things will certainly change as we remake and redefine how our weapons and systems work, balancing them for adaptation to the final phase of our new community and its evolution.

  58. ► Is this new community going to be RP based or involve RP in any way?

  60. Yes and No. The idea is to solidify the continuity of the fictional universe within which the T'koi Empire and other canonical factions exist. However, roleplay will not be entirely necessary, but immersion is a factor. As more bits and pieces of the universes lore are integrated into the Codex here on SL, there will be many more lore-specific elements being implemented into it. This essentially means that roleplay incentive will grow as the depth in lore progresses. It is encouraged that you take some time to consider who you are within the Valkarion Continuity as an individual serving your faction. If you need any assistance with this, or wish to ask any lore related questions, you should consult Velani Karu for more information. Right now though, we're all shooty-shooty pew pew as always.

  67. One of the most major problems with the SLMC was the rampant harassment and abuse between individuals of other factions. This essentially has led to toxic atmospheres undesirable to many, which is one reason why many departed from it. Within our new community, we will follow a very strict set of guidelines to prevent such instances, and those who breach these guidelines will be penalized severely. If we are to grow and flourish as a community, we must let go of our old grudges and learn to treat both friend and foe alike with some degree of respect and courtesy, even if they are being belligerent. Faction Authority Figures will be held to especially high standards, and must follow the guidelines to the letter.

It should not come as a surprise that the original Golden Rule is the first of these set guidelines, and should be the very first one considered whenever interacting with an individual, within our community or otherwise. This should apply whether or not you are actively representing the community, as your actions and words may consequentially impact the community as a whole.

  73. ► Do not commit to action that may reflect badly upon the community.

This is a very broad-spectrum guideline, and common sense should apply, but for the sake of clarity this essentially means that any member of our community must NOT, at ANY time, commit any forms of griefing, doxxing, harassment/trolling, racism, sexism or anything of this nature. This is something that will not, in any form, be tolerated within this community.

  77. ► Resolve issues civilly and maintain professional speech.

  79. Even in the most ideal of environments, disagreements will always occur. It is important that during the course of debate, we do not become excessively belligerent or aggressive in our speech/text patterns, and avoid escalating aggression in any way, shape or form. Make your point politely and professionally, and retain neutral speech and text patterns while doing so. Your community is depending on you to set a good example, and the best way to do this is to keep your cool and retain a professional, courteous demeanor throughout any negotiations, conversations or debates.

  81. ► Communicate and collaborate with eachother.

Unlike in the SLMC where all factions are essentially rivals, within this community all of the factions are part of one whole universe, and thusly we are not enemies, and should not treat eachother as such. Interaction between factions within our community should be friendly and courteous in nature, even when engaging combat operations. Our objective is to have fun, not to brutalize/belittle eachother.

  85. ► Follow the laws of the Arbiters.

  87. Within the Valkarion Continuity, all regulations for individual factions are handled by the Arbiters, who are the Administrators of the community as a whole. In extreme circumstances of disagreement, all matters may be settled by them if necessary. Their rulings are the final word in any disagreements, so it is encouraged to resolve lesser matters between eachother before submitting any requests for administrative arbitration. More will be explained about the Arbiters later within the Codex of the Valkarion Continuity (WIP).

  91. Officers and Command of factions within this community are held to exceedingly high standards. Any petty use of authority for any reasons deemed as such will be treated harshly and result in punishment by administration. Unlike in the SLMC, the entire community has a governing body of officials (The Arbiters), and they hold authority over /all/ factions within the Valkarion Continuity.

  98. A very important part of the Valkarion Continuity is the fact that it is a constant, persistent, and ever-expanding universe. Though there is already established Lore & History for certain factions within the Continuity, other factions may become a part of The Valkarion Continuity and integrate themselves into the universe. There are many things to consider, however, when applying to become a part of this Continuity.

The two largest and most relevant factions of this Continuity are the T'koi Empire and Viral Units, both of which have their own unique history, governmental systems, technologies, cultures and religions (Not so much the Viral Units for this one though), and these play a major role in determining pretty much everything regarding these factions. For every piece of equipment & technology employed by any faction, there should be some relevant documentation of such in relation to that factions lore. If there is any sort of equipment that is not canon to the faction, there should be an acceptable reasoning as to why the faction possesses/utilizes it, and so on.

  102. For instance: The T'koi Empire is very advanced technologically, and typically utilizes energy weapons. However, it does sometimes employ kinetic weapons, mainly due to the fact that certain shield types focus on protecting against energy weapons but are still susceptible to kinetic weapons. The main shtick of T'koi's military force is to be able to adapt to any situation as quickly as possible, therefore it makes perfect sense for them, as a faction, to possess a very large and diverse assortment of weaponry, even some that might be considered outlandish and very strange.

Crossover factions from other fictional universes are acceptable, as long as their equipment is found to be within acceptable bounds and there are no major conflicting issues regarding universe structure and balance. There are factions within the Valkarion Continuity that are capable of inter-dimensional warp, therefore even canonically it is possible to facilitate a crossover scenario. Any faction that participates in The Valkarion Continuity, however, should follow the Canon of their faction to the letter. This is mainly for the sake of immersion, but is considered very important within this community.

  106. There should be some degree of documentation of a factions history, as well. It may be simplified and compressed, or explained in depth at the discretion of the Faction Leader, but some should exist and should be registered with the Arbiters before acceptance for documentation purposes. While this may seem arbitrary to those who only wish to participate in combat elements of the community, it is important that we put some degree of effort into our community on all levels. If you are willing to put forth the effort to establish a factions Lore & History, you are serious enough about maintaining a respectable community to do so, which speaks volumes about your character in doing so.

  108. Remember to take pride in your work; who you are, who your people are, what they mean to you and what they represent as a whole. This will help to bring your faction closer together, as well as help solidify the unity of our community as a whole. Together, we can make our community a beautiful and rich environment for all to enjoy, with many diverse and unique factions with their own unique characteristics and traits.

  115. This area will serve as a list for all current active factions within The Valkarion Continuity, with brief descriptions, as well as several other canon factions within the Valkarion Continuity that are relative to the lore but not yet implemented within SL.

  118. ► The T'koi Empire (Active/Canon)

  120. The T'koi Empire is a massive intergalactic empire following a totalitarian, theocratic matriarchal system of government. They are a very technologically advanced civilization capable of trans-dimensional warp, and are generally subversive expansionists who expand their territory through display of force and advancement rather than application of such. Their primary rival and enemy are the Viral Units, whom had previously nearly driven their civilization to extinction. They are a culturally diverse civilization and integrate many alien species within their society. Their primary scientific specialties are Energy Weapons, Genetic Engineering and Psionics. Their home planet is Veyla Prime within the Veyla star system.

  123. ► The Viral Units (NPC/Canon)

  125. The Viral Units are living, sentient weapons created by a species known only as The Ancient Enemy, whom were the primary rivals of the ancient T'koi Empire. They are extremely aggressive and resilient to most forms of weaponry, and full Units possess limited range omnipotence. They are a hive-mind and virally expand through genetic alteration/assimilation, converting other sentient lifeforms into hybridized, lesser versions of themselves, typically on a planet-wide scale very rapidly. They have no established organized form of governance other than the mental link to their leader, the "Master Unit" also known as Skarr. Their objective is to collectively expand and convert as much life as possible into their likeness, and gather enough energy to recreate the Big Bang, effectively ending the universe as we know it and recreating it in their own image by infusing it with their own code.

  128. ► The Foehn Collective (Active/Crossover)

  130. The Foehn Collective is a faction based off a mod for the game Command & Conquer Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge called Mental Omega. In the game, they are known as the Foehn Revolt, and are a unique modded faction not related to the normal Canon of the game, but rather is a fan based creation. Much of their origin is shrouded in mystery, but their encounters with various time and reality bending technologies have resulted in their convergence into the Valkarion Continuity. As a Faction, they are small in numbers, with enough people to perhaps form and sustain a micro-nation. Their governmental system is more or less a tribunal leadership of three primary leaders who make up their high council and also individually command the three primary legions of their forces, which are known as The Wings of Coronia (Air Force), Haihead Legion (Armored Division) and the Omega Bastion (Fortification/Defensive Division, formerly known as the Last Bastion).

For combat operations within The Valkarion Continuity, all equipment utilized by all factions shall be strictly regulated, inspected and controlled by the administration and approved, denied, removed and/or ordered to be removed, altered, etc by the Arbiters upon issuance of formal complaint, or at their discretion. All arbitrations regarding faction equipment shall be fair and in no way biased. It is the responsibility of every participating faction to follow regulations regarding the balancing of equipment within The Valkarion Continuity.

  151. In order for our community to grow, we must expand well beyond our own borders and into foreign territory to spread knowledge of our community far and wide. Our current goal is to refine this community and build it into something beautiful. To create an environment that all can enjoy equally, whether as a casual combat participant or a more deeply roleplay involved participant. Whatever degree of immersion someone desires, we fully intend to facilitate it on some level. In order do accomplish this, we must venture into territories both new and old.

  153. However, in doing this, we must remain mindful of the environment around us, and respect the culture and regulation of any and all foreign territories and communities. That being said, The Valkarion Continuity as a whole is meant to be a community oriented around combat first and roleplay elements secondary, though this may shift in the future depending on our progress and direction. We consider ourselves a unique community separate from others, but we also actively involve ourselves with other communities.

  155. As you venture into other community territories, remember Section II of this document and conduct yourselves accordingly. There will be zero tolerance for those responsible for harmful inter-community actions. External Operations shall be conducted only in absolute compliance with the regulations set forth within the environment within which we are participating. We may conduct operations within the SLMC, but we hold ourselves to much higher standards and do not directly associate ourselves with the SLMC, but rather as our own unique community. That being said, we encourage all members of all factions of The Valkarion Continuity to participate in other communities as part of their associated factions, and as representatives of our community.

There should also be no attempts to dissuade people from participating in other communities, as we will gain nothing from such actions but resentment. Instead, let us demonstrate our solidarity and our worth as a community through our actions and behavior. This relies on the professional attitude and behavior of every single member of our community, regardless of faction rank or affiliation. We are only as strong as our weakest link, so everyone must strive to be the absolute best they can be.
