  28. <Skeleton> What the
  29. <Skeleton> Where'd ark go
  30. <Moonside> He said he was going to work somewhere, so we could go without him.
  31. <Skeleton> Oh, icy
  32. <Skeleton> Shall we go
  33. <Deathfish64> maybe
  34. <Deathfish64> flib?
  35. <~flibbyjibbits> oh idunno
  36. <~flibbyjibbits> i guess
  37. <~flibbyjibbits> i guess ill make something to eat for now and sure why not
  38. <~flibbyjibbits> i forget wehre we left off but people who are here can figure that out while i do that
  39. <Skeleton> We are at a cushy library-turned-inn eatin landshark filet mignon
  40. <Deathfish64> We were staying in the library after killing and eating a landshark
  41. <~flibbyjibbits> alright and then what does anyone want to do
  42. <Skeleton> I guess Freddie, Pikkup, Raynar and Tombs are still out of the room, all but Tombs talking about the prospect of a gun with a little artistic devil inside
  43. <Deathfish64> sit
  44. <Eltrotraw> huh what
  45. <Deathfish64> We weren't really in the middle of anything actually important when we left off
  46. <~flibbyjibbits> well eltro wasnt here last week because he had to try to finish an important thing so he missed all that
  47. <~flibbyjibbits> i guess maybe someone should recap for him
  48. <~flibbyjibbits> unless that was adequate already
  49. <~flibbyjibbits> brb water boiling
  50. <Deathfish64> Okay
  51. <Skeleton> We made it to a little crappy town
  52. <Skeleton> And ate at a little crappy restaurant
  53. <Skeleton> And then a SHARK came out of the ground and destroyed the restaurant
  54. <Skeleton> Freddie killed it with lightningbolts (while drunk) and the others helped (Lotte was also drunk)
  55. <Deathfish64> Specifically the town is nitom, if you look at the map
  56. <~flibbyjibbits> cant find my bag of spoons dammit
  57. <Eltrotraw> was it gnawesome
  58. <~flibbyjibbits> no it was a bulette
  59. <Moonside> Ok I'm here.
  60. <Eltrotraw> so it wasn't gnawesome
  61. <Skeleton> The townspeople were all like "oh neat" and some Order rangers offered us a place to stay and transportation
  62. <CommodoreJim> And it had claws an' shit
  63. <Deathfish64> Anyway, after we killed the landshark some order ranger dude walked up and said we were pretty bad dudes and he'd give us rooms and let us ride his sweet boat
  64. <Moonside> http://pastebin.com/mgV4bzLp
  65. <Deathfish64> but we're probably gonna have to do something for him later
  66. <Deathfish64> Maybe he thinks we're bad enough dudes to rescue the president!
  67. <CommodoreJim> aren't we, though
  68. <Skeleton> Lotte and Freddie squabbled some, everyone ate the best cut of the shark, Drom and Lotte kicked the party out whilst they talked about how to invent a camera, and got it on
  69. <~flibbyjibbits> no you arent the king died with you guys right there
  70. <Deathfish64> We were much less bad then though
  71. <Deathfish64> In fact we were pretty weak
  72. <Skeleton> (especially drom)
  73. <Skeleton> (ohhhhhhh snap)
  74. <Deathfish64> Current us could kill old us in one round I bet
  75. <~flibbyjibbits> yeah probly
  76. <~flibbyjibbits> probably even just freddie or tombs could if everyone bunched together and he used a scattershot
  77. <CommodoreJim> How many gnomes could current Drom explode
  78. <CommodoreJim> The answer is zero
  79. <CommodoreJim> Because fuckin' bitdroid
  80. <Skeleton> negative 1
  81. <CommodoreJim> If it could figure out how to roll zeroes, it would
  82. <Skeleton> You swing your axe and little gnomes just phase in from other worlds
  83. <Skeleton> In its wake
  84. <~flibbyjibbits> would you prefer i use my own dice
  85. <Moonside> I think it was being just as bad.
  86. <CommodoreJim> I think we just have terrible luck
  87. <Eltrotraw> so we're on a boat then
  88. <Eltrotraw> (another one)
  89. <Deathfish64> not yet
  90. <Deathfish64> We're at the library
  91. <Deathfish64> history section
  92. <Deathfish64> g-l?
  93. <CommodoreJim> the libraryhotel
  94. <~flibbyjibbits> i think so
  95. <Deathfish64> or rather, I think most of us were still out giving the lovebirds privacy
  96. <~flibbyjibbits> also related to what some people were doing there i discovered today that the pfsrd does in fact have birth control in it, 1g per use in snorting powder form
  97. <Moonside> Does it work retroactively?
  98. <CommodoreJim> Huh.
  99. <~flibbyjibbits> no
  100. <Moonside> Well, then.
  101. <Skeleton> wow.
  102. <~flibbyjibbits> but there is a tea also listed that the wmoan can drink every day for a few weeks afterwards
  103. <CommodoreJim> ...Huh.
  104. <Eltrotraw> so wait what was this about tombs talking to a gun guy
  105. <Deathfish64> no I don't think that happened
  106. <Moonside> Oh, the other people in the party were trying to invent a camera, and one of the ideas was a gun that summoned a little artist devil when fired.
  107. <~flibbyjibbits> was there anything the rest of the party wanted to do outside of the hotel, look around, or anything
  108. <Deathfish64> Roam around town I think
  109. <Deathfish64> idk
  110. <Deathfish64> Look for some way to kill time
  111. <CommodoreJim> and then a COOL MONSTER appeared
  112. <Deathfish64> that already happened once
  113. <CommodoreJim> are there ever enough cool monsters
  114. <Deathfish64> no
  115. <~flibbyjibbits> theres another one of those goddamn fucking chain potion shops with extra racial stereotypes this time
  116. <CommodoreJim> wow, extra racist
  117. <Deathfish64> We should probably buy some
  118. <Deathfish64> We have a healer but what if he goes down?
  119. <Skeleton> His ghost can heal his corpse
  120. <~flibbyjibbits> since this place is as far from the moldath border as is possible for any stable structure to be the owners of this particular branch of it thought it prudent to really double down on the dwarven and kobold racism, and evne opened a little theme restaurant nextdoor
  121. <~flibbyjibbits> the food there is probably really, really awful
  122. <CommodoreJim> Wow.
  123. <~flibbyjibbits> bet comparison i can think og is like uh
  124. <~flibbyjibbits> the redskins sports team
  125. <CommodoreJim> Oh yeah, that's pretty bad
  126. <~flibbyjibbits> isnt their mascot like wahoo the injun or something
  127. <~flibbyjibbits> anyways
  128. <~flibbyjibbits> i digress
  129. <~flibbyjibbits> this place is charging 20 gold per dice of healing and have a sign that says ask us about our curse removal, but that isn't really relevant
  130. <Skeleton> My baby won't stop swearing. Please help.
  131. <~flibbyjibbits> ?
  132. <Moonside> It's a curse.
  133. <~flibbyjibbits> o
  134. <Skeleton> hahaha
  135. <Moonside> Are we still injured from the shark?
  136. <~flibbyjibbits> yeah probably
  137. <Moonside> Oh. I don't know how much, though, because I reset my current HP.
  138. <~flibbyjibbits> oh well
  139. <Deathfish64> silly drunks getting injured
  140. <CommodoreJim> http://sanfranciscoba.files.wordpress.com/2012/09/indian-wp-1.jpg Clevland Indians also have a bad mascot /late
  141. <~flibbyjibbits> i beleive i mentioned before the composition of the town, so its mostly sad looking elves who were running away from horrible things and people who want to be adventurers getting in fights and stuff
  142. <~flibbyjibbits> and some of those sailors from the order of nethu who are on leave for the next 2 days
  143. <Moonside> So Lotte and Drom are done now, probably.
  144. <CommodoreJim> Yeah they had finished
  145. <~flibbyjibbits> as a reminder the deal with that dude was that you guys could get on the boat in the morning in 2 days, and its i guess late afternoon/early evening now so you got all tomorow free to do whatever
  146. <Moonside> Not that there's much to do in a shitty town like this.
  147. <Deathfish64> Well, I'll not buy any potions for now and then we can rest until tomorrow
  148. <Deathfish64> unless someone wanted to do something before then
  149. <Deathfish64> brb
  150. <Deathfish64> (also I finally added up my money)
  151. <~flibbyjibbits> anyone else have anything or just move to next day
  152. <Moonside> Not really.
  153. <Skeleton> nope
  154. <CommodoreJim> DAWN OF THE SECOND DAY
  155. <CommodoreJim> (in this shitty town)
  156. <~flibbyjibbits> at about noon theres a public hanging going on for one reason or another, but nothing else of note different from yesterday. you can see it from the balcony in the room if you so pleased. there was also some shaking that implies another bulette attack happened somewhere else in town
  157. <Moonside> Who was being hanged?
  158. <CommodoreJim> maybe one of the adventurers who didn't help us yesterday
  159. <CommodoreJim> douchebag
  160. <~flibbyjibbits> looks like two elfs and a human, the human had previously been wearing that same blue dyed leather armor standard for the order, but it got tossed on a fire in front of the gallows
  161. <Skeleton> wonder what they did
  162. <CommodoreJim> urmom
  163. <CommodoreJim> OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH
  164. <Skeleton> oh
  165. <Deathfish64> where you at
  166. <~flibbyjibbits> if nobody has anything to do before evening
  167. <Deathfish64> anyway Pikkup finds public executions to be distasteful
  168. <Deathfish64> but yeah, nothing to do eally
  169. <~flibbyjibbits> (assuming you guys just ate at wheerever and it wasnt notable unless you went to the potion shop to eat in which case it was pretty bad imitations of the food you had when you were in moldath)
  170. <~flibbyjibbits> a dish made of 4 types of the same kind of mushroom, but the wrong kind
  171. <Deathfish64> (I don't think we would go there)
  172. <CommodoreJim> No definitely not
  173. <~flibbyjibbits> do those stroes use magic to make all their clerks look like the same bored teenagers at every location
  174. <CommodoreJim> Probably!
  175. <~flibbyjibbits> anyways about at sundown another one of them order rangers comes up to the door of the hotel room
  176. <~flibbyjibbits> idunno if everyones there or maybe some people are wandering around town or what
  177. <Skeleton> McCauldron's
  178. <CommodoreJim> I'm probably still in the room reading HELMETS THROUGH THE AGES VOLUME II
  179. <Moonside> Lotte is probably reading that book about books.
  180. <~flibbyjibbits> history of this library
  181. <~flibbyjibbits> well anyways the guy, who is not the same one you spoke to before, knocks on the door
  182. <Skeleton> Freddie moves on to How I Convinced My Family To Let Me Marry And Secretly Study A Demon From Hell, by Gordon Gordons
  183. <CommodoreJim> Who will answer the door
  184. <Deathfish64> sounds like a good book
  185. <CommodoreJim> I got it last time
  186. <~flibbyjibbits> pikkups favorite book
  187. <Moonside> Lotte sees that no one's answering the door, so she answers it after putting her book down and sighing.
  188. <Skeleton> Why not just use your hair
  189. <Deathfish64> Pikkup would be trying to sketch the shark better
  190. <Skeleton> It's long enough?
  191. <Deathfish64> !roll 1 20 sketching
  192. <bitdroid`> [Deathfish64 - 1d20(sketching)] <11> <11> <Total: 11>
  193. <Deathfish64> slightly better than the last attempt
  194. <Moonside> Or that, yeah.
  195. <~flibbyjibbits> "Just here to remind you that we're leaving just after sunrise, so be up early and down by the docks. "
  196. <Moonside> "Ok." I close the door.
  197. <~flibbyjibbits> he probably shrugged at the abruptness and then walked back to his own room
  198. <~flibbyjibbits> or to the boat or whatever
  199. <~flibbyjibbits> who cares
  200. <CommodoreJim> He walked to the sun
  201. <CommodoreJim> Drom is not looking forward to boat rides.
  202. <Eltrotraw> can tombs look around for guns or some sort
  203. <Deathfish64> guns and accessories
  204. <~flibbyjibbits> theres probably a gun store
  205. <~flibbyjibbits> theyre pretty rare and this town likes to overcharge on everything but you can find the store
  206. <CommodoreJim> Strickland Guns
  207. <Moonside> If he says this out loud, Lotte will decide to go with him.
  208. <Skeleton> Gun Paradise: A Utopia... For People Who Enjoy Shooting Other People
  209. <CommodoreJim> Drom secretly feels inadequate compared to guns
  210. <Eltrotraw> he's just going to scowl on his own over there
  211. <CommodoreJim> Tombs doesn't open doors. He scowls at them and they open themselves
  212. <~flibbyjibbits> the store there has any nonmagical gun at about listed price in varying degrees of quality
  213. <Eltrotraw> basically too much money
  214. <CommodoreJim> buy the BFG from doom
  215. <CommodoreJim> do it
  216. <Eltrotraw> he's going to window shop at least
  217. <Moonside> How're the muskets?
  218. <Eltrotraw> it would be over 9000 gold XDDDDDDdddddddddd
  219. <~flibbyjibbits> theres a streetcorner vendor advertising his new concoction of special antidragon ammunition
  220. <~flibbyjibbits> lot of people are buying it
  221. <Deathfish64> buy an AK-47
  222. <Moonside> Also, does that include advanced firearms?
  223. <~flibbyjibbits> advanced firearms are at 10% markup
  224. <~flibbyjibbits> since nobody really knows how to make guns in this world and they all drop from other timelines
  225. <Moonside> Lotte looks at them like a hungry man looks at delicious food.
  226. <Skeleton> But Tombs didn't announce where he was going
  227. <Moonside> Then let's say that Lotte decided to go with him for no reason because that book she was reading was actually shit.
  228. <Eltrotraw> so how much would a shotgun be worth
  229. <~flibbyjibbits> shotguns are listed a 5k in the srd and avdanced are 10% markup so 5500 gold
  230. <~flibbyjibbits> they also sell the special ammunitions
  231. <Moonside> That seems like a ridiculous price for something that does the same damage as a blunderbuss.
  232. <Moonside> Not to mention rifles doing LESS damage than muskets.
  233. <~flibbyjibbits> i dont understand guns at all i just read what it says
  234. <Deathfish64> How much is it for a rocket launcher?
  235. <CommodoreJim> Drom could use a rocket launcher, for rocket jumping purposes....
  236. <~flibbyjibbits> no idea
  237. <~flibbyjibbits> they also sell the oil of silence for "only" 200 which is relatively good
  238. <CommodoreJim> discount lube
  239. <Eltrotraw> silence for what
  240. <~flibbyjibbits> makes guns quiet
  241. <~flibbyjibbits> like completely silenct
  242. <~flibbyjibbits> instead of near deafening like usual
  243. <Skeleton> magic!
  244. <Moonside> Lotte takes out her pistol, which she hasn't used in a while.
  245. <Moonside> She just looks at it for a while.
  246. <Eltrotraw> how much of the oil would be consumed per use?
  247. <~flibbyjibbits> 5 uses lasting an hour each time
  248. <~flibbyjibbits> or one use on a cannon
  249. <Moonside> That's pretty good.
  250. <~flibbyjibbits> if for some reason you were around a cannon
  251. <~flibbyjibbits> and neeed it to be quite
  252. <Moonside> So I guess nothing happens.
  253. <~flibbyjibbits> guess not
  254. <CommodoreJim> A nice, boring day after a long while of shitty shit
  255. <~flibbyjibbits> that guy who was standing outside selling homemade special ammunition packs up his stuff and leaves
  256. <~flibbyjibbits> he probably exploded later
  257. <~flibbyjibbits> well then
  258. <Moonside> Dawn of the FINAL DAY
  259. <Deathfish64> Let us go to boat
  260. <~flibbyjibbits> gonna head to the boat or ditch those losers?
  261. <Deathfish64> while I brb again
  262. <Moonside> Let's go boating.
  263. <CommodoreJim> Drom reluctantly follows everyone to the boat.
  264. <Moonside> "Are you going to be alright, Drom?", I ask him on the way there.
  265. <CommodoreJim> "Hm? Oh, uh...Yes? Probably. It's...just a boat ride."
  266. <Skeleton> "This reminds me of fishing trips"
  267. <Moonside> I look a bit skeptical about this, but decide to let it go.
  268. <~flibbyjibbits> its a pretty big boat
  269. <Skeleton> "Anybody else like fishing? Maybe we should go fishing sometime. Let's go fishing."
  270. <~flibbyjibbits> it seemed to be carrying equal parts cargo and soldiers, though several are absent
  271. <CommodoreJim> Does it look well built or is it shoddy and rickety
  272. <~flibbyjibbits> it is seaworthy
  273. <CommodoreJim> Drom looks slightly relieved.
  274. <~flibbyjibbits> melange can go too
  275. <~flibbyjibbits> i dont know how horses are stored on boats
  276. <CommodoreJim> Melange just goes wherever the hell she wantas
  277. <~flibbyjibbits> but i assume that there is a way for that to happen based on history
  278. <Deathfish64> I think they just sorta stay below deck
  279. <Deathfish64> and don't get to wander around much
  280. <~flibbyjibbits> "I'm sorry we don't have split up rooms here, but at the very least we can say theres an empty row of beds between where you can stay and the rest of the men"
  281. <Moonside> Socrates actually also looks a bit aprehensive about going on a boat, but Lotte doesn't care.
  282. <Skeleton> Warty Morty is all like 'sea air. mmmm. meh'
  283. <Moonside> "Oh, uh... okay." I say to whoever said that.
  284. <~flibbyjibbits> just some guy
  285. <~flibbyjibbits> nobody important
  286. <Eltrotraw> wait who is warty morty
  287. <Moonside> Frog.
  288. <Skeleton> Freddie's toad
  289. <CommodoreJim> freddie's mushroom retainer
  290. <~flibbyjibbits> they set off down the river pretty soon afterwards
  291. <Skeleton> He gives Freddie fire flowers and stuff
  292. <~flibbyjibbits> its a pretyt wide river
  293. <~flibbyjibbits> like missisipi style not some kinda creek or shit
  294. <Skeleton> *'river air
  295. <CommodoreJim> Drom does not look excited about this one bit.
  296. <~flibbyjibbits> looking at the map and i have no idea how fast boats go
  297. <~flibbyjibbits> lets just say its like 3 days and then in the evening you can see the lights of sparona in the distince up ahead
  298. <Deathfish64> who needs a map
  299. <~flibbyjibbits> theres food and some people are playing card games but nothing interesting since its rainy and shitty
  300. <Skeleton> Let's mutiny and commandeer the boat!
  301. <Moonside> During this time, I train using my hair by moving it to make Socrates play with it.
  302. <Skeleton> During this time I add those dang scrolls to my spell list
  303. <CommodoreJim> Drom looks way too relieved to be close to land again. He exhales as if he had been holding his breath the entire trip.
  304. <Skeleton> Mad Monkeys and what was the sun arrow one?
  305. <~flibbyjibbits> it was never properly named
  306. <Skeleton> Then what, specifically, does it do, and what level
  307. <~flibbyjibbits> level 2
  308. <Moonside> Freddie will now proceed to spam Mad Monkeys on every encounter.
  309. <~flibbyjibbits> the effects are a mystery
  310. <Skeleton> Can I carelessly try it indoors?
  311. <~flibbyjibbits> i wouldnt reccomend it
  312. <Skeleton> Ohhhkaaaayyyy... :(
  313. <Skeleton> "Dunno what it does but I think I will call it... Mystic Ray"
  314. <~flibbyjibbits> it shoots arrows out of the caster (maybe a hand or that one guy who used it shot them out his mouth) that deal 1d8 per every step awya from lawful good the targets are in a 10 foot cone
  315. <Moonside> Someone will shoot them out of their crotch.
  316. <Skeleton> oh my
  317. <CommodoreJim> oh my.
  318. <Deathfish64> Pikkup probably spends a lot of time staring over the side of the boat
  319. <~flibbyjibbits> pikkup at some point probably saw some kind of big thing in the water
  320. <Eltrotraw> Wait, we're headed south or what
  321. <Eltrotraw> OH SHIT MUST BE A KRAKEN
  322. <Deathfish64> Which is exactly what he was hoping to see
  323. <Skeleton> It's a kraken we're all doomed
  324. <Eltrotraw> LET'S SHOOT IT
  325. <~flibbyjibbits> theres no such thing as river krakens
  326. <CommodoreJim> please just be a kelpie
  327. <Deathfish64> Any more specific details then "big thing"
  328. <Skeleton> It's Bowser
  329. <Moonside> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pd8gwYJA6Y4 Boss music.
  330. <~flibbyjibbits> its a river wyvern but it isnt interested in the boat and doesnt attack unless he provokes it
  331. <Deathfish64> Nah
  332. <Skeleton> I'd better fight it. Warty Morty, give me a Fire Flower or a Penguin Suit
  333. <Deathfish64> He'd probably go over to the nearest party member and be all like "Guess what I just saw!"
  334. <Moonside> "A sea monster."
  335. <CommodoreJim> Drom probably sat below deck all trip
  336. <Deathfish64> "No, you dumby there are no sea monsters in a river."
  337. <~flibbyjibbits> as of the present its night time and the city is visible in the far distance, might get there by morning
  338. <Moonside> "A river monster, then."
  339. <Deathfish64> "Much better, and yes."
  340. <Moonside> "Ok." Lotte seems uninterested in river monsters.
  341. <Deathfish64> "You're no fun anymo-... Wait, you've never really been fun."
  342. <Skeleton> "Ohhhh snap"
  343. <Moonside> "Ok." Lotte seems uninterested in Pikkup's observations.
  344. <Deathfish64> Pikkup sighs and returns to what he was doing
  345. <Deathfish64> or maybe just goes to rest since it is nighttime
  346. <Eltrotraw> THEN UNEVENTFUL HAPS
  347. <~flibbyjibbits> move to morning?
  348. <Moonside> Sure.
  349. <Deathfish64> sure why not
  350. <~flibbyjibbits> in the morning
  351. <Deathfish64> We're on a boat, there isn't much to do and nowhere to go
  352. <~flibbyjibbits> anyone who goes up to the deck will notice that you have not docked in the city
  353. <~flibbyjibbits> but now it is in the other direction and you are moving away from it, farther southeast
  354. <Deathfish64> oh
  355. <Skeleton> "Row row row your boat, gently down the stream, merrily merrily merrily merrily, life is but a dream"
  356. <CommodoreJim> oh no.
  357. <CommodoreJim> Drom is unaware of this but oh no
  358. <Moonside> Lotte seems to want to get to land quickly, but not because she's scared of boating.
  359. <Eltrotraw> then why ;3
  360. <Deathfish64> Pikkup seems a bit disappointed but not overly so
  361. <Skeleton> "What do boats and the theory that the universe doesn't exist have in common"
  362. <~flibbyjibbits> some of the cargo seems to have been unloaded and some of the soldiers and other passenegrs left but youre still going
  363. <Deathfish64> "I don't know Freddie, what do they have in common?"
  364. <Skeleton> "I just asked that"
  365. <Deathfish64> "Oh, I was expecting a punchline."
  366. <Skeleton> "Maybe we are the punchline and the guy who made up that song is the only one who gets it"
  367. <CommodoreJim> Drom isn't scared of boating, per se, he's scared of being over bodies of water :Y
  368. <CommodoreJim> if there were land boats he'd be fine
  369. <Moonside> Drom is a vampire!
  370. <CommodoreJim> dark secrets revealed
  371. <Deathfish64> Drom ate a magic fruit that gave him the power to chunk gnomes at the cost of losing the ability to swim
  372. <~flibbyjibbits> any other reactions to this shocking development or what
  373. <CommodoreJim> Drom'
  374. <Skeleton> Were we supposed to be getting off there
  375. <CommodoreJim> s not leaving from below deck, but
  376. <Eltrotraw> Can Tombs confront a crew member or is this not our desination
  377. <CommodoreJim> If he knew he'd freak out
  378. <~flibbyjibbits> that is what you had been told
  379. <~flibbyjibbits> tombs can find a crewmember and ask it yes
  380. <CommodoreJim> can he THREATEN the crewmember
  381. <~flibbyjibbits> i guess he could
  382. <Skeleton> Can he SERENADE the crewmember
  383. <~flibbyjibbits> probably not
  384. <Deathfish64> Can he SEDUCE the crewmember
  385. <~flibbyjibbits> maybe?
  386. <Eltrotraw> but was this our destination?
  387. <CommodoreJim> they told us it was
  388. <Deathfish64> Pikkup probably can, look at the charisma! However, Pikkup is not even remotely interested
  389. <Skeleton> Can he DEFENESTRATE the crewmember
  390. <~flibbyjibbits> he could i guess
  391. <Eltrotraw> So let's confront a crew member
  392. <Eltrotraw> "Why are we still going on?" we'll have him ask
  393. <~flibbyjibbits> "Oh, uh, know what"
  394. <Eltrotraw> "Wasn't that our stop just back there?"
  395. <~flibbyjibbits> "Can you gather up your team and head over to that private office type place by the back of the boat, someone wanted to talk to you all about that."
  396. <Moonside> ...
  397. <Eltrotraw> Tombs attempted bonding time with the team
  398. <Eltrotraw> Let's have him visit Drom
  399. <Eltrotraw> "Hey Kongol, are you feeling SEASICK"
  400. <CommodoreJim> hahaha
  401. <Eltrotraw> Either way, let's have Tombs round up everyone
  402. <Eltrotraw> not unless it's going to be an overdrawn event of Tombs gathering everyone one by one
  403. <CommodoreJim> Drom reluctantly comes above deck.
  404. <Moonside> Lotte goes to the place with everyone else, and she seems a bit annoyed for some reason.
  405. <Deathfish64> Pikkup gathers up, confused
  406. <Eltrotraw> and we're missing Freddie
  407. <Skeleton> Let'sa go
  408. <Skeleton> Wahoo mamma mia
  409. <Moonside> Freddie is actually Charles Martinet.
  410. * bitdroid` is now known as bitdroid
  411. <Moonside> So we're all at the private office type place by the back of the boat.
  412. <Eltrotraw> So avoiding any wacky hijinks among party members(unless flib wanted that) then we're all gathered at the office
  413. <Eltrotraw> I'm going to snark at Freddie for being late at least
  414. <~flibbyjibbits> the door is open and theres a table with some seets but nobody inside
  415. <Skeleton> it's a trap
  416. <Eltrotraw> load the gun
  417. <Deathfish64> summon the eidolon
  418. <Skeleton> "Did somebody throw the cap'n overboard"
  419. <Moonside> !roll 1 20 +14 perception check on the room
  420. <bitdroid> [Moonside - 1d20(+14)] <31> <17> <Total: 31>
  421. <~flibbyjibbits> the room is fairly basic, theres the table and chairs, a couple of chests, a bookshelf, and another door on the other side
  422. <Moonside> I walk in.
  423. <Deathfish64> check the bookshelf for secret passageways
  424. <~flibbyjibbits> the room is walked in to
  425. <~flibbyjibbits> its a boat
  426. <Deathfish64> wait where would you fit one in a boat
  427. <Eltrotraw> it depends on how big the boat is
  428. <Deathfish64> magic
  429. <~flibbyjibbits> i guess there could be a panel that swings into like the cargo hold
  430. <~flibbyjibbits> but there isnt
  431. <Moonside> Hell, if someone's Stealth roll is over 31, then we probably deserve to be caught in a trap.
  432. <~flibbyjibbits> just books
  433. <~flibbyjibbits> mostly maps and reference books and records
  434. <Skeleton> "Ahoy? Cap'n? Where are you"
  435. <Eltrotraw> "Yo! Who's even here? Y'told us to come here, come out!"
  436. <Skeleton> "arr?"
  437. <Moonside> How's the other door?
  438. <CommodoreJim> "..."
  439. <~flibbyjibbits> its not locked but it just opens into a staircase going up
  440. <Moonside> I go up the stairs.
  441. <Deathfish64> I will too
  442. <Skeleton> Okay
  443. <~flibbyjibbits> the door at the top of the stairs is locked
  444. <Skeleton> well too bad I am not going down so you two will just have to spend the rest of vour lives partway up a staircase
  445. <Moonside> I knock on it.
  446. <~flibbyjibbits> it just opens onto the deck of the boat
  447. <Moonside> Oh well.
  448. <Moonside> I go down the stairs.
  449. <Deathfish64> what a pointless excercise
  450. <Eltrotraw> Are we going to bust down some doors?
  451. <~flibbyjibbits> back in the little room down there
  452. <Deathfish64> If necessary I will use Levitate on Freddie in order to walk back under him
  453. <~flibbyjibbits> "Please, sit down, everyone"
  454. <Skeleton> just kidding I I get off the stairs
  455. <Skeleton> It's Skeleton Ghostworth, captain of the GHOST SHIP
  456. <~flibbyjibbits> a ranger at the other door says, "Hes finishing up a card game, just wait a minute."
  457. <CommodoreJim> Drom takes a seat, his posture showing that he's still really not feelin' great.
  458. <Moonside> Lotte sits down, feeling a bit impatient.
  459. <Eltrotraw> "So who's 'he'?"
  460. <Skeleton> Freddie plants his magic butt in a chair
  461. <Deathfish64> Pikkup sits down, and Ekans takes up a position next to him
  462. <Deathfish64> I guess mostly upright?
  463. <~flibbyjibbits> after a few minutes the door at the top of the stairs unlocks noisily as whoever it is fumbles with the key
  464. <Deathfish64> Words like sitting and standing do not apply to wingsnakes
  465. <~flibbyjibbits> the person who arranged the meeting comes stumbling down the stairs
  466. <Skeleton> He is seasick. On a river.
  467. <Moonside> He is riversick.
  468. <Deathfish64> or is he just drunk
  469. <Skeleton> River Syk
  470. <~flibbyjibbits> he pretty much lands in the last unnoccupied chair and then look up and puts his hands on the table "Heya howrall ya doin, haven seen ya in a will."
  471. <Skeleton> Hey does this river have a name, anyway
  472. <~flibbyjibbits> you may remember this guy from a long time ago
  473. <Moonside> Lotte cringes at his butchering of the common language
  474. <Moonside> .
  475. <CommodoreJim> Is this the guy who ferried us to fight obsiadian monster
  476. <~flibbyjibbits> yes
  477. <CommodoreJim> Oh myg od
  478. <Deathfish64> "Hi, Teyo. Long time no see."
  479. <Moonside> "Oh, it's... ah, I don't remember your name."
  480. <Moonside> "Yes, Teyo."
  481. <CommodoreJim> "Ah...Teyo. Greetings." Drom manages to say, somewhat quieter than usual.
  482. <Skeleton> "Ahoy Teyo"
  483. <~flibbyjibbits> "Yall look desen, diddin look up too offen, haven't died yet. "
  484. <Moonside> I don't understand what he's saying, and I make a face indicative of such.
  485. <Skeleton> Freddie does not remember this guy at all
  486. <~flibbyjibbits> his accent is pretty thick
  487. <~flibbyjibbits> or maybe by now its even a different dialect almost incomprehensible
  488. <Moonside> I don't think it was this thick before.
  489. <Deathfish64> "We had a pretty hard time in Farim recently."
  490. <Moonside> I cast Comprehend Languages on myself, except not really.
  491. <Moonside> "So, er... what do you want of us?"
  492. <~flibbyjibbits> "So I heard. " his accent is clearer now, maybe even to it might seem like he could've been faking it before
  493. <Skeleton> The Swordish Forsh!
  494. <~flibbyjibbits> "Essentially, we had a team in the field to retreive an asset, and they crossed paths with you; our method of oberving them is limited to long story short you're wanted to be put on trial for involvement in the death of Lady Idrian. The Wanderlust, this boat, will go to the Spire, where the trial will be held."
  495. <~flibbyjibbits> "However, you do have options here."
  496. <Deathfish64> Pikkup frowns
  497. <Eltrotraw> Tombs scowls harder than before. "So what's stopping us from bailing from here?"
  498. <Skeleton> Freddie also frowns
  499. <Moonside> Lotte also frowns. "You're joking, right?"
  500. <~flibbyjibbits> "well, " he looks around, "This is a boat."
  501. <CommodoreJim> ".........."
  502. <~flibbyjibbits> "So anyways, Falkan has requested that you come talk to him first, and we can take you there before docking at the Spire, if you want."
  503. <CommodoreJim> Drom's expression is unreadable, due to helmet, but this his bodylanguage shows he is not lovin' this shit.
  504. <Eltrotraw> "And you'd hunt us down if we'd jump ship, am I wrong?"
  505. <Moonside> Lotte rubs her temples a bit before getting up and going outside.
  506. <~flibbyjibbits> "I guess we would a bit, but I do repeat, this is a boat."
  507. <Eltrotraw> "On a river, unless we can't swim to shore..."
  508. <Moonside> Out in the deck, I just lean against the railing or whatever it's called and facepalm in despair.
  509. <~flibbyjibbits> "We're about 3 days out from the Spire, but if you would prefer to take up Falkan's offer, hes on vacation on South Nethu, the island, so we would just keep going if you wanted."
  510. <Eltrotraw> "Or are we surrounded by Order members already?"
  511. <Skeleton> Freddie clears his throat at 'can't swim'
  512. <Skeleton> "Tombs I can't live the life of a fugitive, I don't think"
  513. <Moonside> I come back in after a while. "Falkan is the cool guy, yeah? Guess it wouldn't hurt to go talk to him first. SIGH."
  514. <Skeleton> "I also can't really swim"
  515. <Moonside> "You're a Wizard. You can probably fly or something."
  516. <Skeleton> "Not yet, not yet"
  517. <~flibbyjibbits> "Sir Falkan does have some strange ideas but he is often regarded as one of the more approachable of the ring, yes."
  518. <Moonside> "..."
  519. <Moonside> "Also, why were you acting like an idiot just now?"
  520. <CommodoreJim> "....
  521. <Deathfish64> Pikkup doesn't bother mentioning that he can't swim either
  522. <CommodoreJim> Drom also cannot swim. And is also clad in several pounds of armor.
  523. <~flibbyjibbits> he stands up, ignoring the question, "You have about two days to decide, though I assume its an easy choice. Not many people like the trials at the spire."
  524. <Skeleton> "They're not fair, I take it?"
  525. <~flibbyjibbits> "The fairness varies wildly and unpredictably."
  526. <Skeleton> I'd like to remind everyone that Freddie told Lotte not to make the decision to go with the order rangers.
  527. <CommodoreJim> "....I...suppose seeing Falkan would not be a bad course of action."
  528. <Skeleton> Continue.
  529. <Moonside> I don't remember such a thing happening.
  530. <Eltrotraw> Tombs remains silent, though clicks his tongue at Freddie's comment
  531. <Eltrotraw> instead, deciding to scowl in the corner
  532. <Skeleton> <~flibbyjibbits> ...looking to get somewhere nice to stay. Tell you what, we're shipping out in a few days, but can help you get some nicer accomodations until then, if you'd want to come with when we leave."
  533. <Skeleton> <Moonside> I drink some more. "Oh, yeah that'd be nice. We've been wantin' to get outta here for a while now."
  534. <Skeleton> <Skeleton> "Lotte no don't make decisions, not now"
  535. <Skeleton> <Moonside> I finish drinking and throw the bottle at Freddie.
  536. <Skeleton> :>
  537. <Moonside> Oh, yeah.
  538. <Moonside> Well no one listens to Freddie anyway.
  539. <Deathfish64> They would have found us eventually anyway, I bet
  540. <Skeleton> And you wonder why our lives are in hell!!! :O
  541. <Skeleton> Nah but they were both drunk at the time anyway
  542. <~flibbyjibbits> "Good, then. As I mentioned before he is vacationing at the Kres family estate in the south, and has invited you there for a talk." He starts back up the stairs, "Nah'll see you guys all later, yea, few days ovra week till we get there, card game night in four."
  543. <Eltrotraw> Tombs would actually been willing to live as a fugitive
  544. <CommodoreJim> THE OUTLAW
  545. <Eltrotraw> exactly
  546. <CommodoreJim> Drom puts his head in his hands for a moment. "This just keeps getting worse."
  547. <~flibbyjibbits> teyo leaves and locks the door behind him even though you could probably get around to the other side in like 3 minutes anyways
  548. <Moonside> "Sigh..."
  549. <Deathfish64> "Idrian is the one who almost killed me..."
  550. <Eltrotraw> "I'm still thinkin' of jumpin' off. I guess you're all willin' to try and clear your names?"
  551. <CommodoreJim> "There is no way I'm jumping off. And no way I'm living as an outlaw."
  552. <Moonside> "Same here."
  553. <Eltrotraw> "Suit yourself, then. Let's have it your way."
  554. <Skeleton> "We'll be all right, I mean, we've been pretty lucky so far, haven't we"
  555. <Skeleton> 1
  556. <Deathfish64> "Outlaw or not I don't care very much, but I wouldn't really like having to hide all the time. Besides, I can't swim."
  557. <Skeleton> "Maybe we could take over the boat and become a band of pirates"
  558. <CommodoreJim> "No."
  559. <Deathfish64> "No."
  560. <Skeleton> "Captain Drom, First Mate Lotte, Admiral Freddie, Swabbies Tombs, Pikkup and Raynar"
  561. <Moonside> "No."
  562. <Skeleton> "Oh..."
  563. <Eltrotraw> "Swabbies? You callin' me a swabbie?"
  564. <~flibbyjibbits> brb bathroom
  565. <~flibbyjibbits> [if you so please i have nothing planned for the remainder of the trip which is 10 days so just timeskip all you want]
  566. <CommodoreJim> "Well, if anyone needs me, I'll be staying below deck."
  567. <Skeleton> "Nahhhh... I just ran out of boat crew titles"
  568. <Moonside> Lotte starts looking worried.
  569. <Skeleton> Alternate timeline: They fucking took over the boat and became pirates.
  570. <CommodoreJim> Drom with a captain's hat over his helmet
  571. <Skeleton> But the swabbies were Ekans, Socrates and Warty Morty
  572. <~flibbyjibbits> pirates on a stretch of river
  573. <Deathfish64> The river connects with the ocean
  574. <Eltrotraw> Tombs would be willing and ready to shoot the guy if he had a getaway plan
  575. <Deathfish64> and we will be going out to sea to reach that island
  576. <Skeleton> One of the shut doors at the temple totally had Pirate Adventure Party behind it
  577. <Deathfish64> probably
  578. <Skeleton> 'Yeah! That's right! I'm bad!'
  579. <Skeleton> Welp
  580. <Skeleton> Timeskip I guess
  581. <CommodoreJim> Pshooooooooooooo.
  582. <~flibbyjibbits> ok back
  583. <~flibbyjibbits> you pass by "the spire" which is the capital city of nethu. well, pass through it, through a canal, and then through to the ocean
  584. <~flibbyjibbits> about a week passes on the ocean where nothing happens because naval combat is bullshit in this game
  585. <~flibbyjibbits> it gets hotter out
  586. <Deathfish64> hot
  587. <Moonside> Damn.
  588. <CommodoreJim> ;)
  589. <~flibbyjibbits> the place on the map titled south nethu is in the tropics so
  590. <~flibbyjibbits> and thats where youre going
  591. <Deathfish64> and then we get a beach fanservice chapter before we all get hanged
  592. <Skeleton> omg
  593. <Moonside> 'It's the beach!'
  594. <~flibbyjibbits> beach fanservice chapter indeed
  595. <CommodoreJim> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lsFuyy7WBSU&feature=plcp This is all I can hear in my head
  596. <CommodoreJim> Drom wears a swimsuit over his armor
  597. <~flibbyjibbits> comin into veiw is a port town i neglected to name yet
  598. <CommodoreJim> And also one of those floaty duck innertubes
  599. <~flibbyjibbits> up on the hill behind it is a large manor, walled off
  600. <~flibbyjibbits> it also appears that some sections of the city have walls around them as well
  601. <~flibbyjibbits> the boat docks
  602. <~flibbyjibbits> its a decent city
  603. <~flibbyjibbits> like its nice and all
  604. <~flibbyjibbits> but theres still a kind of tension in the air
  605. <Eltrotraw> I think we're hewaded to the mansion
  606. <~flibbyjibbits> and theres a patrolman like every other street corner
  607. <CommodoreJim> Drom looks extremely relieved to be off the boat.
  608. <~flibbyjibbits> the main street of the town leads right up to the gate
  609. <Moonside> Lotte doesn't like the heat.
  610. <~flibbyjibbits> the gate isn't locked, it sways open in the wind
  611. <Eltrotraw> "So where're we headed?"
  612. <Deathfish64> Roughly how big is this island (since the map is all not-to-scale)?
  613. <~flibbyjibbits> iguess idunno lets say uh
  614. <~flibbyjibbits> i have no sense of scale
  615. <~flibbyjibbits> lets call it like 5 days by foot across
  616. <Deathfish64> good enough
  617. <~flibbyjibbits> the area within the estate walls is pretty obviously high class if that were not already implied by it being the
  618. <~flibbyjibbits> "kress family estate" which i believe i have mentioned is one of the older noble houses of the nation
  619. <~flibbyjibbits> its got like fountains and topiaries and idle servants and shit
  620. <CommodoreJim> cool
  621. <Eltrotraw> but we are going inside the mansion then
  622. <~flibbyjibbits> doors open
  623. <~flibbyjibbits> if you want to
  624. <~flibbyjibbits> or just look around i dont care that much
  625. <Moonside> Does it have magical air conditioning?
  626. <Skeleton> I kinda pictured Falkan reclining on a chair on the beach with shades and a drink with an umbrella in it
  627. <Eltrotraw> So Tombs is going to walk in
  628. <~flibbyjibbits> it might
  629. <Moonside> And a flower print shirt.
  630. <CommodoreJim> Where do I leave Melange
  631. <Deathfish64> We were invited so we should probably check in with Falkan before thinking about other things
  632. <~flibbyjibbits> the foyer is big and fancy and has portraits of every living member of the family as well as the former patriarchs, leading back about 600 years- there is a spot marked for zulban but the actual painting was cut out of the frame
  633. <~flibbyjibbits> the floor has another of those big murals of the wheel
  634. <~flibbyjibbits> theres 3 wings to the place, but one is sealed off, and one has a servant beckoning towards you
  635. <Moonside> This reminds me of Sirius' room in one of the Harry Potter books.
  636. <~flibbyjibbits> "Are you the group sir Falkan was expecting? This way, please."
  637. <Moonside> We follow the servant.
  638. <Skeleton> Follow that man!!!
  639. <~flibbyjibbits> the servant seems kinda elvish but not really
  640. <~flibbyjibbits> if you wondered
  641. <Deathfish64> Like a half-elf?
  642. <~flibbyjibbits> yeah i guess
  643. <~flibbyjibbits> also the interior of the building is indeed cooler than the outside, due to some kind of magical orbs embedded in the ceilings that emit a light breeze
  644. <CommodoreJim> cool
  645. <Moonside> rimshot
  646. <~flibbyjibbits> the servant heads down a couple of hallways to a library room
  647. <Moonside> Yaaay!
  648. <~flibbyjibbits> there Falkan is drinking some kind of fruity drink and playing some board game with a young woman who looks kind of familiar
  649. <~flibbyjibbits> the servant asks if anyone wants anything to eat or drink
  650. <Moonside> "I'd like some cold water, please."
  651. <CommodoreJim> "I'm fine for now, thanks."
  652. <Skeleton> "Something pink with an umbrella in it"
  653. <Deathfish64> "Juice, I guess."
  654. <~flibbyjibbits> the dude bows out of the room and closes the door

  681. <Skeleton> 'I'm hanging around on this island to pick up the hot babes!'

  683. <~flibbyjibbits> "They're coming. Anyways I suppose since you want to skip ahead to the answers I might as well give them to you."
  684. <~flibbyjibbits> he sits back down, "Pull up a chair, might take a while to explain."
  685. <Moonside> I sigh again and do that.

  726. <~flibbyjibbits> he breathes deeply and looks into his drink "I don't like to talk about this, but, yes. I was elected to the position of high alchemist because of my work in alchemical simulacra. 727. <Eltrotraw> "So how many of 'em are runnin' around right now?"
  728. <Eltrotraw> Tombs doesn't look too phased by this information aside from his usual scowl and some disbelief etched in his face
  729. <Moonside> "Ah... is this the same for Zulban and the others?"
  730. <Deathfish64> "And, er, why?"
  731. <~flibbyjibbits> "I'm not sure. I designed the process as such that it could be done without me, so the council, the ones above the ring in the order, and Ralan, can spin off copies that emphasize certain personality and magical traits."
  732. <Moonside> "..."
  733. <CommodoreJim> "Well, that'
  734. <CommodoreJim> s...alarming, to say the least."
  735. <Skeleton> "I'm alarmed."
  736. <~flibbyjibbits> He stands up and paces a bit, "Now, the version that you encountered was created to distract the queen of Farim and otherwise clear the way for her team to access whatever it was they were looking for in the woods. Despite the council treating her like an expendable resource, it still isn't exactly well known. This whole thing, I mean."
  737. <~flibbyjibbits> "And to answer another question I heard, no, it is not this way for the rest of the ring, only Idrian. They consider her too valuable to risk. Which I suppose says a lot about what they think of the rest of us."
  738. <Moonside> Lotte cracks a rather sadist-looking smile while listening to this, but doesn't say anything.
  739. <Deathfish64> "Well, then, what does this mean for all of us?"
  740. <~flibbyjibbits> "Well, you are being put on trial under suspicions of killing her. All the long range divination can tell is that you were all there when she died. "
  741. <Eltrotraw> "Which is true. Bein' there doesn't prove we were a part of it though."
  742. <Moonside> "Yeah, and she almost killed Pikkup there. And the queen was the one that killed her. If you people couldn't see that, then you probably need new diviners."
  743. <~flibbyjibbits> "All they show is proximity, and the queen is beyond them. Anyways, if you didn't do it, then there is a way to prove it. Does sir Drominus still carry with him the medallion that Ralan put on him, some time ago?"
  744. <Deathfish64> "I don't think we could have even killed her if we tried, honestly..."

  762. <Skeleton> "What is it?"
  763. <~flibbyjibbits> "With the right magical keyphrase, and in the correct location, a person can experience everything that occurred to the bearer of the amulet since it was put on. Obviously, this can exonerate you from the crime, if you'd allow a judge to view the memories."
  764. <Skeleton> In a bed
  765. <Moonside> "A-ah..." Lotte blushes slightly. "Er, anyway... you know why he gave it to Drom in the first place?"

  771. <CommodoreJim> hooray planning
  772. <Moonside> That's the way.
  773. <Deathfish64> "They could always just use magic to make us tell the truth again, like what happened the last time we were suspected of being involved with the murder of an important person that we didn't actually kill, right?"
  774. <Skeleton> "Or both. Double aquitted."
  775. <~flibbyjibbits> "Possibly, but that magic can be tricked, or the strong willed can work against it. With the medallion we can just put it on the boat and Ralan can crack it open and look through it aquit you without you even having to go to trial."
  776. <~flibbyjibbits> also the servant comes back with the drinks now
  777. <~flibbyjibbits> apoligizing for taking so long

  785. <~flibbyjibbits> tombs can have retroactively ordered something since you werent here
  786. <~flibbyjibbits> the servant did

  791. <Moonside> Go, Freddie.
  792. <Arkay> you got this man
  793. <~flibbyjibbits> "Not necessarily, but if I had to guess they'd spin out another Idrian to be the prosecutor, likely one specialized in interrogation magic. And its not a very precise process, might either be deadly or pleasant. Hard to say. Might trend more towards the former due to the nature of the accusation."

  801. <Deathfish64> ("Look, Idrian is right there, alive and well! We're obviously innocent.")
  802. <~flibbyjibbits> "Just a possibility. Its also possible Ralan would just ask for the medallion there, unless he had wanted to save it for later."
  803. <Skeleton> I'm kinda picturing
  804. <Moonside> "you people are so full of shit, I don't even know where to begin."

  810. <Eltrotraw> Tombs takes a drink. "I second Lotte, if your diviners could only see Idrian died and not who killed her, you need new ones. But let's see if we can find out anything from that necklace then."

Though I will, of course, still want to talk about a subject of quite dire magnitude that something you've said brought to my attention, though that can wait."
  820. <Moonside> "...okay. I guess he's not that bad, then."
  821. <Skeleton> "Is there /anything/ we can do to help make sure it doesn't fall off the boat or get eaten by a river squid or something ridiculous"
  822. <~flibbyjibbits> "I suppose if thats a concern we can wait for Ralan to come here instead."
  823. <Eltrotraw> Pirate Drom thinks gems are truly outrageous.
  824. <Eltrotraw> Truly, truly outrageous
  825. <Skeleton> "Err, sorry, I didn't mean to say I doubted you or anything... just, wouldn't that be terrible"
  826. <~flibbyjibbits> "Absolutely awful, it would require some kind of trip to the bottom of the ocean to recover, and dealing with all the terrible things that live down there. But somehow I don't think its likely those will be showing up in this adventure of yours."

  955. <~flibbyjibbits> what if the coconut is the material focus for the mad monkeys spell
  956. <CommodoreJim> Okay geeze. Drom looks for a coconut and a knife.
  957. <CommodoreJim> Well, more like several coconuts
  958. <CommodoreJim> Because chances of doing this well on first attempt are low
  959. <~flibbyjibbits> its a tropical place theyve got to besomewhere
  960. <Skeleton> and a Freddie (he is kinda just flopped down someplace on the beach, he hasn't bothered to take off his sweater or anything
  961. <Skeleton> )
  962. <Skeleton> Do you need to be taller to reach a coconut in a tree?
  963. <CommodoreJim> No, I'll just tackle some out of a tree I think.
  964. <Skeleton> bonk
  965. <~flibbyjibbits> worst case scenario is get them from a store
  966. <CommodoreJim> Helmet protects Drom from any coconut related injuries
  967. <~flibbyjibbits> not like theyd be expensive enough to awarrant me looking upa price
  968. <Deathfish64> You don't tackle things out of trees, you need to use headbutt
  969. <Deathfish64> duh
  970. <CommodoreJim> Well, one way or another, Drom obtained coconuts and a knife and a chair, and is now sitting out on the beach.
  971. <Deathfish64> Haven't you PLAYED pokemon before?
  972. <Skeleton> "Hey"
  973. <CommodoreJim> "Hm?"
  974. <Skeleton> "Makin' piña coladas?"
  975. <CommodoreJim> "Makin' what"
  976. <Skeleton> "pineapple, coconut, rum"
  977. <Skeleton> "Well I don't see any pineapple or rum, so I guess not."
  978. <CommodoreJim> "Oh. Well, no. I just have coconuts. Was gonna enjoy some, maybe carve the shells into something. Not sure what, though."
  979. <Skeleton> "Maybe Tomb's face"
  980. <Skeleton> *s'
  981. <CommodoreJim> "Haha. Maybe."
  982. <Moonside> After checking some books out, I decide to watch Idrian's and Falkan's game. If they're ok with it.
  983. <CommodoreJim> "Would have to get the scowl juuuuuust right."
  984. <Skeleton> "Get him to pose for you"
  985. <Skeleton> "And then you leave some of the coconut husk's hair for his mustache and beard. And hair."
  986. <Skeleton> "Or you could carve one of those coconut monkeys you always see on cabana-style restaurant counters"
  987. <CommodoreJim> "...huh?"
  988. <Skeleton> "for that it's like the whole monkey is the coconut, with a big face and curled-up body, you know"
  989. <Skeleton> "Like a monkey"
  990. <CommodoreJim> "...Well, I guess I could give it a try."
  991. <Skeleton> "Can I help, I could show you some monkeys, I could summon a monkey"
  992. <CommodoreJim> "That...sounds like it might be a disaster waiting to happen."
  993. <Skeleton> "I've never used the spell before... but"
  994. <Skeleton> "Pay close attention 'cause I think they'll only be here for about 40 seconds or so"
  995. <Skeleton> "Okay I'm gonna do it, Maaaaaaaad Monkeys!"
  996. <Moonside> Dude, the spell is called Mad Monkeys. MAD Monkeys.
  997. <Moonside> As in, it's probably not a good idea to summon them if not to throw them on your enemies.
  998. <Deathfish64> (incidentally, pikkup could summon a single gorilla is a much less insane way)
  999. <Skeleton> and then a swarm of tiny monkeys appears
1000. <CommodoreJim> Pikkup is also currently out and about
  1001. <Deathfish64> yes
1002. <Deathfish64> He is currently in the middle of information gathering
  1003. <Skeleton> "Oh, it's working."
  1004. <Skeleton> "Look at 'em"
  1005. <CommodoreJim> "Uh."
1006. <~flibbyjibbits> "Please do not cast summoning spells in the library. Or any spell.s Or indoors at all." the halfelf servant asks
  1007. <Skeleton> But we're on the beach :U
1008. <Deathfish64> I thought this was at the beach
  1009. <Moonside> I don't think they're in the library.
  1010. <~flibbyjibbits> o vn
  1011. <~flibbyjibbits> nvm
  1012. <Moonside> "Or outdoors"
  1013. <Skeleton> 'Or ever'
1014. <Deathfish64> "magic is an abomination"
  1015. <CommodoreJim> "...well, okay, then."
1016. <Deathfish64> er, but pikkup didn't actually say that and never would
1017. <Skeleton> So I guess these monkeys kinda just go wacko for 36 seconds and poof away?
1018. <Skeleton> "I can do that two more times today"
1019. <Moonside> The monkeys throw some shit at Freddie and Drom.
1020. <Deathfish64> Don't swarms attack the nearest living thing?
  1021. <Skeleton> They obey me
  1022. <Moonside> But they're MAD.
1023. <Deathfish64> I know my spider swarms just attack whatever is in their reach
1024. <Deathfish64> I only control where they show up as far as the spell description indicates
  1025. <CommodoreJim> Hm.
1026. <CommodoreJim> So are we monkey attacked or not
  1027. <Skeleton> Nope
  1028. <Skeleton> http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/m/mad-monkeys understands and obeys commands
1029. <Skeleton> 'Calm the fuck down! Build me a sandcastle!'
1030. <Deathfish64> well, I guess monkeys are smarter than spiders, bats, or rats
1031. <CommodoreJim> "...no, no. Once is enough."
1032. <Skeleton> "I'd love to have a memory like that. I don't even remember what I had for breakfast"
1033. <CommodoreJim> Drom gets to work on a coconut.
  1034. <CommodoreJim> COCONUT MONKEY ROLL
  1035. <CommodoreJim> !roll 1 20
  1036. <bitdroid> [CommodoreJim - 1d20] <3> <Total: 3>
  1037. <CommodoreJim> "...this is awful."
1038. <Skeleton> Freddie uses penumbra on himself to block sun rays from his eyes, manifesting as cool shades
1039. <CommodoreJim> Drom chucks it behind him.
1040. <Skeleton> !roll 1 2 does it hit someone, 1 for yes, 2 for no
  1041. <bitdroid> [Skeleton - 1d2(does)] <1> <1> <Total: 1>
  1042. <Skeleton> Bonk!
  1043. <CommodoreJim> Liar!
  1044. <Skeleton> Just kidding
1045. <CommodoreJim> Coconut Monkey Roll 2: Roll Harder
1046. <Moonside> "Ow!" It actually hits Lotte, who had finished watching that game and was approaching the two.
  1047. <Skeleton> omg
1048. <CommodoreJim> "Holy shit. Are you alright?"
1049. <Moonside> "...I've been through worse, but you just threw a coconut on my head! Jeez... anyway, what are you doing?"
  1050. <Skeleton> "Arr, and arrrrrrrr."
1051. <CommodoreJim> "I'm...trying to carve a coconut into a monkey. Not much else to do."
  1052. <Skeleton> "You probably should de-stress also"
1053. <CommodoreJim> Coconut Monkey Roll 2: Roll Harder
  1054. <CommodoreJim> !roll 1 20
  1055. <bitdroid> [CommodoreJim - 1d20] <10> <Total: 10>
  1056. <CommodoreJim> "Grrr...."
  1057. <Skeleton> "Not too shabby"
  1058. <CommodoreJim> "Not good enough."
1059. <Moonside> "Hmm... not doing very well, huh?"
1060. <CommodoreJim> Drom carefully drops it on the ground next to him this time, instead of chucking it.
1061. <CommodoreJim> "My whittling skill seems to fluctuate wildly sometimes."
  1062. <CommodoreJim> !roll 1 20
  1063. <bitdroid> [CommodoreJim - 1d20] <1> <Total: 1>
  1064. <CommodoreJim> "..."
  1065. <CommodoreJim> "...let's...ignore that one."
  1066. <Skeleton> "Shabby."
1067. <CommodoreJim> Drom grumbles something about coconuts being stupid as he picks up another.
1068. <Deathfish64> You probably broke that one
1069. <CommodoreJim> with my man strength
  1070. <CommodoreJim> !roll 1 20
  1071. <bitdroid> [CommodoreJim - 1d20] <2> <Total: 2>
  1072. <CommodoreJim> This one, too.
  1073. <Moonside> Lotte makes a :| face.
1074. <CommodoreJim> Drom grits his teeth, and grabs yet another coconut.
  1075. <CommodoreJim> !roll 1 20
  1076. <bitdroid> [CommodoreJim - 1d20] <3> <Total: 3>
  1077. <CommodoreJim> wow.
  1078. <CommodoreJim> bitdroid wtf.
  1079. <Moonside> "Wow, you suck."
  1080. <CommodoreJim> 1, 2, 3.
  1081. <Skeleton> <bitdroid> :D
  1082. <CommodoreJim> in order, even
1083. <Eltrotraw> ("Okay, first, you've got to take 10 fruits... and THEN SHOVE THEM UP YOUR BUTT AND MAYBE I'LL LET YOU LIVE."
  1084. <Eltrotraw> )
1085. <CommodoreJim> "Hush! It's not easy!" Drom grumbles. ("If this one is a four, I give up.")
  1086. <CommodoreJim> !roll 1 20
  1087. <bitdroid> [CommodoreJim - 1d20] <1> <Total: 1>
  1088. <Moonside> nope
  1089. <CommodoreJim> Drom sighs.
  1090. <Moonside> "Apparently so."
  1091. <CommodoreJim> "...alright, yeah, I do."
  1092. <CommodoreJim> "What the hell."
1093. <CommodoreJim> (Freddie: "MAYBE YOU FORGOT WHAT MONKEYS LOOK LIKE I'LL SUMMON THEM AGAIN")
1094. <Skeleton> I was about to say that
1095. <Skeleton> "Need more reference material?"
1096. <CommodoreJim> Drom shrugs and leans back in his chair. "Wouldn't hurt, I suppose."
  1097. <Moonside> "Huh?"
  1098. <Skeleton> "I need monkeys! I need MAAAAAAAAD MONKEYS!"
  1099. <Skeleton> bvooom! Magic.
1100. <Skeleton> So, now there are monkeys again
1101. <CommodoreJim> Drom watches the monkeys.
1102. <Moonside> Lotte is both surprised and horrified.
1103. <Skeleton> "You two monkeys, clean the lady's shoes"
1104. <Deathfish64> I wonder if there are any other people at the beach, and what they think
1105. <Moonside> "...no, I don't want monkeys anywhere near me."
1106. <Skeleton> "Okay fine, don't. Lotte likes her shoes filthy."
1107. <CommodoreJim> Drom tunes the conversation out and begins carving while monkeys are still fresh in his mind. If this is awful he quits forever.
  1108. <CommodoreJim> !roll 1 20
  1109. <bitdroid> [CommodoreJim - 1d20] <13> <Total: 13>
  1110. <CommodoreJim> "...well. It's...okay."
  1111. <Skeleton> I helped :B
  1112. <Moonside> "That's a lot better."
1113. <CommodoreJim> "It actually looks like a monkey this time, at least."
  1114. <CommodoreJim> "Maybe I should quit while I'm ahead."
1115. <CommodoreJim> "Only have one coconut left anyway."
1116. <Moonside> "Might as well go for it, hm?"
1117. <CommodoreJim> "Hm. Maybe something else, though."
1118. <CommodoreJim> COCONUT TOMBS HEAD ROLL
1119. <Deathfish64> Maybe by now this has taken long enough for Pikkup to be done with his information gathering?
  1120. <CommodoreJim> !roll 1 20
  1121. <bitdroid> [CommodoreJim - 1d20] <14> <Total: 14>
  1122. <CommodoreJim> "Look, it's Tombs"
1123. <Deathfish64> How long does whittling monkeys even take
1124. <Moonside> "...damn, it really is."
  1125. <CommodoreJim> SHRUG
  1126. <Skeleton> "Wow."
  1127. <Skeleton> I'd imagine a lot of minutes!
1128. <Skeleton> It's probably time to turn in and get some piña coladas someplace
1129. <CommodoreJim> "I'm torn on whether or not I should show this to him or not."
1130. <CommodoreJim> "I mean, he doesn't seem to have much of a sense of humor. Also, he has a gun."
  1131. <Skeleton> "Why not, he'll think it's hilarious"
  1132. <CommodoreJim> "Or he'll shoot me."
1133. <Skeleton> "Nahhhh if he'd shoot you over a coconut, would I still be here"
1134. <Moonside> "Just leave it somewhere he'll see it, then, without telling him you did it."
1135. <CommodoreJim> "Hmm...guess I should leave it near wherever the booze is."
1136. <Skeleton> Action! Horror! Romance! Situational comedy! All this and more in ADVENTURE
1137. <Moonside> Hearing all this stuff, Lotte smiles tenderly. Like, in a way that you've only sene her do while Elly's around.
1138. <Deathfish64> and Pikkup missed all the group bonding
  1139. <Deathfish64> oh well
1140. <CommodoreJim> Because he had to go find where to have his ILLEGAL BARBARIC MONSTER FIGHTS
1141. <Deathfish64> While they were wasting time, he was learning about A QUEST
1142. <Deathfish64> and yes that too
  1143. <Deathfish64> well now what
1144. <Moonside> "Hey... what are you guys going to do once we get back to Rakor?"
1145. <CommodoreJim> Drom thinks a bit as he gathers up his coconuts. "I'm...honestly not sure. I've sort of just been riding things out since the king died. Not really sure what I'll end up doing in the long run."
1146. <CommodoreJim> "If I go back to being a knight, what will I end up doing? Being Telmar's errand boy?"
1147. <Skeleton> Freddie looks bothered by something (maybe the fact that last time he went home, it wasn't long before he got deported by a racist wizard!). "Uhhhh..."
1148. <Moonside> "Hmm..." her expression becomes a little more melancholic. "I think I'll... just stop this adventuring business. You know, all of this has been really stressful... and I'm only 26. I dont want my hair to get even whiter now."
1149. <CommodoreJim> "Understandable. It was all sort of an accident we set off on this thing anyway."
1150. <Moonside> "Plus, I've stayed away from Elly for too long this time... I'm really worried about her, and I'm sure she feels the same way about me."
1151. <CommodoreJim> Drom nods. "Must be nice to have family." He finishes packing up the coconuts and chair and knife. "Well, then, I'm heading indoors."
1152. <Skeleton> Now Freddie just looks sad (maybe because he has nothing to go back to!).
1153. <Moonside> Lotte flinches a bit at his last comment, but says nothing.
1154. <Deathfish64> Were we ever invited to stay at the manor or are we supposed to find our own lodgings?
1155. <Moonside> Eventually, she goes back in too,.
1156. <Moonside> I think we can stay in the mansion place.
1157. <Deathfish64> Probably but I don't remember ever getting actual confirmation
1158. <Deathfish64> did flib go somewhere?
  1159. <CommodoreJim> Yes. HELL
1160. <Deathfish64> well he's been silent for an hour
1161. <Deathfish64> Well, operating on the reasonable assumption that we can stay at the kres manor, Pikkup will return there
1162. <Deathfish64> flibbyjibbits ping are you alive
1163. <Skeleton> flibbyjibbits cannot make it. Our substitute GM is a swarm of mad monkeys.
1164. <CommodoreJim> monkeys come and kill you all campaign over
1165. <Deathfish64> roll new characters. They must be monkeys.
1166. <Skeleton> !roll 1 6 how many monkeys is my character
  1167. <bitdroid> [Skeleton - 1d6(how)] <4> <4> <Total: 4>
1168. <CommodoreJim> eltro plays as Kuwong
  1169. <CommodoreJim> I'll use Pipotron G as a faceclaim
1170. <Deathfish64> I will be a monkey rogue that specializes in stealing hats
1171. <Deathfish64> hated enemy bonus if the hat belongs to a plumber
1172. <Skeleton> I will be a monkey bard that specializes in being electrocuted
  1173. <Eltrotraw> huh
1174. <CommodoreJim> what class would Kuwong be
  1175. <CommodoreJim> what uses staves
  1176. <CommodoreJim> For hitting purposes
  1177. <Deathfish64> monk
  1178. <Deathfish64> duh
  1179. <Skeleton> ey
1180. <Deathfish64> a fighter could too, but monk seems more natural and obvious
1181. <Moonside> Well, I guess we could stop here, then.
  1182. <CommodoreJim> Seems so.
  1183. <Deathfish64> I guess
1184. <Deathfish64> I was hoping to finish the day out but whatevs
