  1. SCP Concept: The Flagellant
  2. Object Class: Euclid
  3. Description:
  4. White Caucasian Male
  5. Approximately 1.8 meters in height
  6. Large numbers of scars, both open and healed all over body
  7. Strong, with well defined muscle (now weakened)
  8. At or slightly below average intelligence
  9. Slightly enhanced physical ability in standard state
  10. Claims name is Damian, of notable similarity to Peter Damian, the saint who introduced flagellation to the catholic church.
  11. Zealous desire for pain and self mutilation
  12. Upon experiencing pain, subject shows increased muscle mass, strength, increased reflexes and agility, incredible stamina, and extreme regenerative abilities
  13. Experiments on SCP-XXXX after containment concluded that SCP-XXXX has to actually feel and experience pain in order to trigger its anomalous effects. Injury inflicted upon SCP-XXXX while under anesthesia or while unconscious did not result in any regenerative effects until the anesthesia wore off or the subject regained consciousness
  14. Further testing and interviews have revealed that blood helps to accelerate the regenerative abilities of SCP-XXXX, and the subject has shown to be able to cause massive exsanguination in living organisms via bursting multiple blood vessels by “pulling” their blood to him. The blood extracted by SCP-XXXX covers wounds that it has sustained and heals them almost instantly. During a containment breach of SCP-682, SCP-XXXX escaped containment only to witness Agent FRIEND be severely injured. Agent FRIEND had forged a positive relationship with SCP-XXXX, as SCP-XXXX recognized Agent FRIEND’s chronic depression and analogous desire for self-harm (the self-harm being a condition that had recently developed due to repeated exposure to SCP-035). In the only documented instance of SCP-XXXX showing compassion for others, SCP-XXXX slashed its right wrist with a shard of metal and raised it upwards as if offering his blood. A red glow surrounded SCP-XXXX’s right hand, and the wounds that it had sustained during the breach healed almost instantly. At the same time, Agent FRIEND’s wounds (which were most certainly fatal) all closed up and healed in the span of three (3) seconds. Agent FRIEND has since shown an above average fortitude for injury and even disease, as well as incredible gratitude to SCP-XXXX, and submitted a request to become the personnel in charge of flagellating SCP-XXXX. Request was accepted after SCP-XXXX expressed unusual joy upon hearing of the request.
  15. Cooperative with the Foundation as long as subject is allowed to self-flagellate or is flagellated by a member of the Foundation
  16. While subject does need to eat, it often prefers to fast for long periods of time as part of its “pain ritual”.
  17. Despite cooperation with the Foundation, subject expresses a resentment of the Foundation and its personnel, as well as most human contact
  18. Claims flagellation is of holy purpose, but the limited descriptions of his religion does not match any known belief systems
  19. Subject appears to possess mild psychic abilities, manifesting in the ability to identify sources of pain (both physical and mental) currently afflicting humans, as well as discerning the greatest fears of anyone exposed for a sufficient amount of time.
  20. In exchange for the privilege of flagellation, the subject disclosed the location of three anomalous artifacts which were in his possession prior to containment. These artifacts consist of a spiked collar, a spiked bracelet, and a ball-and-chain-flail with three spiked striking ends, all made from an unknown metal. The collar and bracelet have been designated SCP-XXXX-1, and the flail SCP-XXXX-2.
  21. SCP-XXXX-2 and SCP-XXXX-3 are made from an unidentified metal (designated flagellium) that resists all forms of damage. From SCP-XXXX’s description of the metal and subsequent testing, it has been revealed that flagellium enhances the sensation and perception of pain in wounds caused by an object made from it. The sensation is akin to rubbing salt or a caustic agent into a wound, causing a stinging or burning sensation. SCP-XXXX claims that SCP-XXXX-2 and SCP-XXXX-3 were given to him by a higher power for the purpose of his “burden”.
  22. Subject was recovered by the Foundation in 1/11/2011, after an explosion in a chemical factory in the city of [REDACTED] which left three (3) dead and seventeen (17) heavily burned and wounded. Subject was recovered from close to the epicenter of the blast, with approximately eighty (80) percent of its body having sustained severe burns, as well as a large length of steel rebar which embedded in the subject’s ribcage, to the right of the sternum. Paramedics were surprised when the subject was found to still be alive and mostly conscious, and was observed to heal around the rebar and eject it out, as the subject’s burns began to recede. Embedded operative Agent REDACTED, alerted the foundation and the subject was recovered from the hospital while heavily sedated. All involved with the explosion recovery, both survivors and local authorities were interviewed and given Class-B amnesiacs.
  23. Special Containment Procedures:
  24. Standard humanoid containment cell with modified air filtration to add a small amount of gaseous mild anesthetic to the cell. All surfaces are to be padded to prevent unauthorized self-flagellation.
  25. Cell is to be secured by no more than two (2) guards armed with sticky foam guns and well as chemical grenades filled with a powerful gaseous anesthetic.
  26. Provided food upon request, as subject enjoys fasting as part of its flagellation rituals. All food provided must not include any sharp objects such as bones or shells, and must not have a spice level exceeding 100 Scoville Heat Units, as these conditions in food could cause pain to SCP-XXXX, and result in a containment breach
  27. Not to be provided any sharp or bladed object or any object that could otherwise compromise security.
  28. Subject is to be monitored via video surveillance 24/7. Foundation Staff should notify command in the event that the subject begins to act abnormally.
  29. In case of a containment breach, agents are to avoid causing harm or pain to the subject while attempting containment.
  30. Under no circumstances should Foundation personnel with who are currently experiencing or have previously experienced events causing significant mental stress be allowed access to the subject. See Incident-XXXX-1.
  31. Incident-XXXX-1
  32. During an interview with Dr. REDACTED, SCP-XXXX appeared uncharacteristically positive and pleased with itself. When questioned about its atypical temperament, SCP-XXXX replied, [REDACTED], referencing the recent death of Dr. REDA, the wife of Dr. REDACTED. In a flare of anger, Dr. REDACTED, who had documented instances of anger and aggression in stressful situations, struck SCP-XXXX with an audible crack that is believed to be a breaking jawbone. The subsequent pain of this assault allowed SCP-XXXX to break its bonds and seize Dr. REDACTED, and slam him into the wall of the interview cell, shattering most of Dr. REDACTED’s skeleton and cracking the concrete wall behind him. SCP-XXXX then began to slam its head against the door of the cell in an attempt to accumulate more power and break down the door. SCP-XXXX succeeded in breaching the door on the fifth strike, and subsequently breached containment. However, due to the remarkable actions of Agent Franku, who predicted SCP-XXXX would search for SCP-XXXX-2 and SCP-XXXX-3 and ambushed SCP-XXXX and subdued it with a gaseous anesthetic, allowing the Foundation to re-establish containment within four (4) hours of the initial breach.
