  5. Where the Circle Ends
  6. Mountain ranges
  7.
  8. Morning red bathed ridges stab up at the trembling blue horizon
  9. Grey slides lazily off rooftops
  10. Lands on the incandescent ground and dies.
  11. A flock of little men touch down on the this surface of porchlight
  12. Dawn’s footsoldiers return to march twilight across our faces
  13. Skylites ignite and explode
  14. Scattering shards of april around the room
  15. But no one even lives here.
  16. We’re too busy crashing our cars every morning in the same house.
  17. Paving the same roads
  18. Unwilling to walk them.
  19. And even when we extend ourselves it’s only to be included in a moment that stands still.
  20.
  21. And so often we don’t struggle to improve conditions,
  22. We struggle for the right to say “We improve conditions”.
  23. And so often we form communities
  24. Only the use them as exclusionary devices.
  25. We forget that somewhere man is beside himself with grief.
  26. Somewhere people are calling for teachers
  27. And no one is answering.
  28.
  29. Somewhere a man stands, walks across the room, and breaks his nose against the door,
  30. And somewhere these people are keeping records
  31. Writing a book
  32. For now we can call it “The Book About the Basic Flaw,” or “The Book About the Letter A,”
  33. or, “Any Title That a Book About a Man That No One Cares About Might Have,”
  34. And as we turn the pages, we call out the sounds of a vanishing alphabet,
  35. Standing here waiting.
