1. I think it's high time I post this idea that's been stewing in the back of my mind for years since Bayo 1 and it has just occured to me to complete it with Balder.
2. One has to ponder where the natural progression in this story will go and how and where that will make Kamiya take it. In Bayonetta 3, simply put, I want the story and mechanics in the game to be expanded on so that in this iteration; Bayo unlocks the Lumen side of her blood and becomes the first being to birth Lumen/Umbran dual arts. The first female to -ever- weild Lumen powers and a massively offensive bastardization of the status quo, garnering the full wrath of Paradiso and Inferno.
3. Jesus anons imagine how fucking stellar Bayo will look in Lumen then some orignial Lumen/Umbran garb. Have it be revealed that this was all apart of based Balder's -real- keikaku to upend the status quo of both Angels and Demons (of which he despises -both-) and kill Jubileus and give her eyes to his beloved daughter and, through her, humanity. All his prior douchbaggery was an act and in reality his goal was always to create the greatest world for his daughter and to rip away power from any immortal being. Even his "corruption" by Loptr was a ruse and he simply removed his memories before Loptr ever infected him so he could not discover his true intentions whilst inside him. He knows that the providence and love of Paradiso and the rebeliouness of Inferno, while -admirable- are fucking wasted on worthless immortal Angels and Demons and only humanity is worthy of it. A full on fucking reverse-Zamasu.
4.
5. Bayonetta herself reflects this by adopting a sort of meta mischievous-virtue (which has always been her nature), an acknowledgment that Paradiso's virtue and Inferno's freedom are king but a rejection of Angels' elitism & control and Demons' hedonism & rage. Just imagine her in veiled in Lumen light embracing virtue but with a shit eating grin and a pechant for anarchy. Just as before with little to no alteration to her personality. Great right?
6. Geting into the actual gameplay; reality would get all kinds of fucked up and quantum-mutated fusions of Angel and Demon would start to appear as enemies. Mechanically this would manifest as a new dimension of gameplay on the same (or greater) level of nuance as dodge-offset; Lumen and Umbran weapons and attacks would need to be switched between and chosen as these chaotic enemies weaknesses to Paradiso and Infero wax & wane with visual indication. Different enemies would have different shift patterns and different metas needed to combat them.
7.
8. I showed this pasta to a friend before I made a thread about it and he said:
9. >"Yeah dude this sounds exactly like the whole Nephilim thing from DMC"
10. >W-whats that?
11. >"Well take a look online; Dante's whole schtick is that he is half Angel half Demon so in the game he can switch between their powers like, but not quite, this thing you cooked up for Bayo."
12. >Well shit
13. Honestly rained on my parade because I came up with this from the ground up with Bayo only with ziltch knowledge of DMC lore.
14. Tell me to what extent this sounds like a blatant rip-off.
15.
16. Overall I think this nicely addresses an obviously common curiosity on the part of players wondering what it would be like to play as a Lumen Sage. We've all thought of it.
17. Now r8 my autism.

19. ----FAQ's and 'Idea Bouncing'----
20. >What about Omne
21. Yeah it turns out that Bayonetta's fusion of Sheba and Jubileus was the pivotal moment where Balder's keikaku kickstarts. Don't exactly know how I would write Bayo first coming into Lumen stuff but it'd be a lot like how she sounded cosplaying as that nun but real this time and with an added sensuous guttural bite to her voice. Virtue but with personality.
22. Bayo could be heard throughout the game waxing sexily philosophical. All punctuated with the good old "fuck Angels" (+ fuck Demons too now).
23. ------------------
24. >First use of Lumen powers for Bayo?
25. Maybe something involving amnesia where she just straight up thinks she's a Lumen for several chapters. Or not, probably a better way to write her first use of Lumen powers than that. Unsure.
26. Maybe she discovers the keikaku (all "Oh daddy you were a based motherfucker all along!") And decides to possess a Joy to learn shit first, and under her own initiative... yeah that sounds better. Have her actually be seen as a Lumen tinkerer (all sexy librarian like) and all hush and devious as the implications of the ideology she knows she needs to create becomes more and more known to her.
27. Have this be a stark contrast to the 'her being swept up in events' themes of the last two games. SHES the one setting shit into motion now.
28. -------------------
29. >So the plan is?
30. See above, and ell what's going on with her offends reality itself (Sheba/Jubileus' creation) and the lines between Paradiso, Inferno, Purgatario, and Earth start to shatter. After she's tinkering around is when the reality warping/breaking begins to happen and she catches onto it.
31. The reason would be behind a general doctrine of
32. >Angels, Demons; Get the fuck /out/
33. >Humanity says: Paradiso=Mine. Inferno=Mine. Purgatorio=Mine. /out/ /out/ /out/! We are going to build a wall and the immortals are going to pay for it!
34. >And "wall" is really just a euphemism for you just fucking dying. Bu bye ;3
35.
36. A mix of reality naturally shattering and the Demons and Angels not down with the plan egging it on and joining forces against her (both accidental through reality quantum-mutating them together, and conspiring)
37. But wait; Wicked weaves would be an issue with out contracted Demons & Angels wouldn't they? Have Bayonetta be so devious that she sends her influence into Paradiso and Inferno to acquire traitors that are down with becoming humans and/or a part of new humanity.
38. ---------------------
39. >The Demon's and Angels seen thus far?
40. Madame Butterfly has remained a curious figure for far too long so for sake of sating this curiosity; shes gonna have to die. Make a point that Bayo keeps some of her contractees but others turn on her including that favorite Dragon of hers who she has to put down. All broken up about it even. Gomorrah would be implied to be so full of rage and thirst for blood that it simply wouldn't be in his nature to be down with the plan, so he is an enemy. Madame would be a half point boss or something. And a bitch. Necessitating a replacement for Butterfly as she had served as Bayo's base punch & kick weaves. Some other demon down with the plan that doesn't want to get mutated. Maybe something that looks completely different from Madame's fists and heels. This isn't to say anything of the Angel contracts she scores yet.
41. Sheba dies too. Maybe even near the start in a similar way to Jubileus, to get her out of the way. The big end boss would be some cuhrayzee bigwig Angel-Demon fusion. Or something.
42. The thing I have in mind is to have as many new faces to the Angelic and Demonic hierarchies as possible. Big and small. [MAYBE] a third party of some kind, quantum-chaotic-energy-whatever versions of those Lumen and Umbran constructs for instance, as well... but probably scrap this.
43. Bonus: We get to see Jeanne and Rodin (maybe young Balder instead but I'd prefer not) as her Umbran and Lumen lieutenants looking all badass.
44. ---------------
45. >General credit/kudos given to anons who piped in good input and ideas I bounced off of them.

50. >Angelic contracts would be interesting, the cardinal virtues seem to have body doubles compared to named demons so I could see Bayo havin Iustitia depending on weapon choice and motivation for said angel. It would really have to develop how the sages get pacts with the angels. Could also do named angels from mythos like Raziel. Oh Ba'al Zabul would make for an interesting infernal alley if frog Baal dies.
51. -Response:
52. [>All of this. Yes.]
53.
54. >Bayonetta's powers, for that matter, the umbran powers and lumen powers, are not genetic, they are gained through contracting with a being from inferno or paradiso and training. Bayonetta is not biologically special. In order for her to gain lumen powers she would need to contract with an angel, probably not happening. Besides what would change? Lumen sages haven't shown anything particularly unique about their combat styles compared to umbran witches. What are they gonna do expand rodin? Map angel weapons to x, like they initially had?
55. >Not happening.
56. -Response (to critique):
57. [>>Bayonetta's powers, for that matter, the umbran powers and lumen powers, are not genetic, they are gained through contracting with a being from inferno or paradiso and training. Bayonetta is not biologically special.
58. >I do not regect the notion that people may simply seek out the Lumen and Umbran way without being born into an Sage/Witch family, (though this isn't implicitly stated) but their is presumably a reason other than cultural why Lumen/Umbran interbreeding is verboten.
59. >This is where I introduce a not-impossible headcannon that aquisition of of either the Lumen or Umbran mantle of power, normally, directly disallows the other. Bayonetta, being the aberration that she is, is saved from this by blood hax as, again, all according to keikaku.
60. >Accepted, this means the she IS biologically special just that Sages or Witches arn't usually -supposed- to be.
61.
62. >In this first thread I answered an anon's question asking how her first usage of Lumen powers would be handled mechanically, to which I answered: {here I quote myself}
63. >So she still requires the training and discovery (handled inventively by her) just that her parentage makes holding Lumen/Umbran powers in one person not impossible.]
