  12. Short Answer: Absolutely, someone should never be able to dictate who loves who. As the saying goes, there is someone out there for everyone and by giving someone a love potion you are not only affecting that person's happiness but also the person they were meant to be with. The potion giver is also assuming that the other person will make them happy but what happens if it turns out that the person you thought you knew ends up being horrible? Then, not only did you ruin the other person's life, but you are now even more unhappy then you were previously. In conclusion, love potions are awful and should never be used. Take the time to get to know the person and if you both end up falling in love then that's awesome but if the feeling isn't mutual it's not fair for you to decide who they should/shouldn't like.

  40. Short Answer: Do you think it is ethical to keep these animals while we study them or do you believe we have enough information for Hogwarts students to not need that hands on experience with animals?
  41. Truthfully, I don’t think there is a simple answer to this question as it hinges on a great number of things. Most importantly, we need to take a look at how the creatures are treated. I do not think there is anything unethical about keeping a creature if it kept in a condition similar to how it would be out in the wild. Afterall, many people keep pets, and this isn’t necessarily different from that, and it also offers a learning opportunity. However, another complication is that some creatures are fully intelligent, and it would be inhumane to ‘keep’ them. For example, centaurs and merpeople are both classified as ‘beasts’ but are fully intelligent. I think if a creature is capable of knowing they are being ‘kept’ and are intelligent, then they should be left alone. Most of them already are however, some live on Hogwarts grounds but it is of their own volition. I think it is acceptable to keep creatures like pixies, as long as they are treated well. Anything that is above a classification of xxx, I think is too dangerous to keep around young students.

  44. adoption_qeen's COMC OWL:

  49. 5) When approaching a Hippogriff you must show proper respect by bowing to them, and waiting for them to bow in return before approaching. Eye contact should be maintained at all times, without a single blink. Let the make the first move so you do not offend them .
  50. 6) A salamander can survive outside out of the flames that birthed it for up to six hours if it is fed pepper.
  51. 7) Bowtruckle homes are usually a tree whose wood is of wand quality like a Wiggentree.
  52. 8) A flubberworm will die if over fed.
  53. 9) The Porlock is a horse guardian.
  54. 10) The Classification for the Pixie is X XX- Competent wizard should cope.
  55. short answer. I do be leave that it is ethical you keep creatures at Hogwarts as long as they can be kept in a safe healthy environment that they are comfortable in.The best way to learn about diffrent creatures is to study them while they are calm and in there environment, such as a trip into the dark forest will give you the best way to research and learn about unicorns. While at school students can safely learn the difference between a potentially dangerous creature and a harmless creature such as the difference between a knarl and a hedgehog. It is important that we know how to properly care for injured and hungry creatures when ministry officials arent around to help. if will also take away the fear of the unknown when we learn from a trusted teacher than to stumble on a creature on a hike in the woods and have know idea if it could hurt you or care less if you are there. the first defense for creature preservation is to know as much as we can about these amazing creatures and why they are important to our would so that future generations of witches and wizards can love then, care for them, and be terrified of some of them.

  66. 9)the only potion that uses the sorcerer's stone is the Elixir of Life.
  67. 10)Antidotes: the name of the law that dictates how to brew antidotes is Golpalott's third law.
  68. Short answer
  69. i think that love potions should be banned not just from schools but also from the general public. The love potion is a very unstable potion, the longer it is not used the more dangerous it becomes and can cause harm to the drinker. everything about the potion is deceitful, you put a sweet good smelling potion in to a food or drink and give it to you love interest without them know and create a false infatuation. the effects of the potion are short term therefore must be remade and give over and over. Amortentia smells different to each person, according to what attracts them meaning you lure them in with what appeals most to them not an attraction to you personally. it is not good for the health or mental well being of the person it is used on and ultimately for the person useing it. persons it is used on become very pale and sickly looking and become very aggressive and could be a danger to others. teens are emotional enough without adding the effects of love potions, you cannot simply give a potion just because you fancy a class mate who doesnt know you. long term effects will emotionally hurt the one who is giving the potion when they realise to one they love still doesnt love them and that it is all a lie and will embarrass the one given the potion.

  71. kurebu (heather)'s COMC OWL:
  72. 1. It is called Burning Day. The phoenix is described to look decrepit-looking and withered, resembling a half-plucked turkey.
  73. 2. Herpo the Foul, one of the earliest known dark wizards, bred the first basilisk by hatching a chicken egg beneath a toad.
  74. 3. The only known cure for basilisk venom is phoenix tears, which has the effects of removing the poison from the wound and sealing the wound immediately.
  75. 4. Goblins are described to have black eyes.
  76. 5. Hippogriffs are extremely proud, so one would need to show proper respect by bowing and waiting for them to bow back before approaching. Eye contact has to be maintained the whole time, without a single blink (if possible) - this is to gain their trust.
  77. 6. Salamanders can survive outside of the flames from which they are birthed for up to six hours if fed on red peppers.
  78. 7. Bowtruckles guard their home trees (the trees on which they are born), which are usually trees of wand wood quality, such as a Wiggentree.
  79. 8. Flobberworms can't control how much they eat, so they will literally eat themselves to death if you let them.
  80. 9. Porlocks guard horses and are usually found in stables or among herds.
  81. 10. Pixies are given the XXX classification.
  82. Short Answer: I think hands-on experience is very important when it comes to care of magical creatures. It must not be removed from the curriculum if we hope to train students into adult wizards capable of actually handling these creatures manually. It cannot be replaced by books, at least until we find a way to simulate realistic interactions between these creatures and humans. What we we should do now is enforce strict laws regarding the ways in which these creatures are to be handled to make sure that no harm comes to them. If we can get teachers to treat the creatures the way Hagrid does, it would be about as ethical as keeping animals as pets, I think.
