  1. Just as Kihon was going to the cave to go find some minerals for weapons that he need he saw a teen just standing there doing nothing but watching the water.
  2.
  3. Kihon walked up to the teen, with a smile.
  4.
  5. "Hey there."
  6. (Kihon)
  7.
  8. Arthur was pre-occupied with thought.
  9.
  10. In fact, he was preparing himself to weather the Storm once more, or try to. The environment of the ocean was well suited for that, and while having a rest, it's obvious that nothing would be better than to energize yourself here before preparing for such feat.
  11.
  12. Yet it seems someone came to greet him.
  13.
  14. Turning his head towards Kihon, the redhaired Valmasian squinted, soon speaking back.
  15.
  16. "Yes, hello."
  17. (Arthur Rowan)
  18.
  19. Kihon looked confused at the teen, as he glared out into the distant. He would shove his hands into his pockets and continue to speak the him.
  20.
  21. "So.. What are you doing here, by yourself?" he asked Arthur.
  22. (Kihon)
  23.
  24. To hear and see someone approach him like this, there were only two possible explanations - either he had nothing else to do, or he's been looking for new friends. Or both. It could be anything else too, really, but the first two options were his quick guesses.
  25.
  26. Nonetheless, he decided to amuse his curiosity, and responded promptly.
  27.
  28. "I was trying to start my session of practising Storm magic here. I suppose it would stay at 'was' now."
  29.
  30. A clear hint at his presence.
  31.
  32. "Now, what are you doing here, then?"
  33. (Arthur Rowan)
  34.
  35. A lightbulb with off in Kihon's head.
  36.
  37. "Oh. I guess that makes sense for a person to be by the cliffside. Hm.. Maybe I should stay by the water for my water magic training.." he spoke.
  38.
  39. Now when Arthur asked him the very same question, Kihon would begin to tap at his chin trying to recall what he planned to do.
  40.
  41. "Um.. Let's see...I....Oh! I remember I just came from a spar with Dorey, for tokens of course. Then after that I was going to the caves for a bit trying to get some materials but, then I saw you and I stopped to have a conversation for a bit." he said before sitting down on the soil, probably then the best Idea, so he moved up just a bit so that his legs would be hanging off the side of the cliff.
  42.
  43. "What's the first step of mastering Strom magic?" he asked with curiosity.
  44. (Kihon)
  45.
  46. He wasn't exactly going to cancel his own training.
  47.
  48. Deciding to take opportunity to practice while they speak about, Arthur began to gather the cold air around him, shifting it up into the clouds; as per usual, he already knew that he needed to condense the air and make sure that the mix of cold and heated air would be enough in order to create the suitable weather.
  49.
  50. And that was just the first part of it.
  51.
  52. He preferred using Cognitive Casting, but this time around, he wished to try out something far more potent - to actually feel the process with his Symbolic Casting, and then use Reflexive Casting in order to perform another task, thus--
  53.
  54. -- making it a Mixed Casting technique while performing the Storm.
  55.
  56. Isn't that what most powerful magi did, anyway? It surely was. There's no point to not practice it, especially with the sort of dreams that Arthur had.
  57.
  58. But he needed to grasp on something for Symbolic Magic... what it could possibly be?
  59.
  60. Jealousy. Frustration. Even such negative emotions were enough - seeing how some students were far more successful than him, and seeing how he'd oft be disregarded in favour of those that simply had more time to practice--
  61.
  62. -- he decided to tap into such darker source.
  63.
  64. Even now, in the very beginning, Kihon could feel the cold air gathering around them, going up in the air. Something was changing.
  65.
  66. "First steps is to know Wind, Water and Lightning magic."
  67.
  68. "Other steps? Wait and see."
  69. (Arthur Rowan)
  70.
  71. Kihon Felt the cold air around him, he would begin to shiver.
  72.
  73. "Damn it must be getting really cold out.' he thought.
  74.
  75. He powered through the cold and continue the conversation.
  76.
  77. "That's nice, I've already got one of the three magics so, two more and I'll be ready to start strom magic. Anyways, I'm Kihon if I didn't tell you my name, if you have any token can we spar?"
  78. (Kihon)
  79.
  80. --Rather anticlimactic statements.
  81.
  82. But he disregarded his words for the time being, for they were off-topic and distracting, at least now. While drawing the mana from Symbolic Casting, through usage of emotions such as jealousy and frustration to success of others and lack of his own, there was a certain need to actually control the process, to actually direct where all of it is going.
  83.
  84. And that's where Cognitive Casting comes.
  85.
  86. Projecting his mana through the circuits and manipulating their flow through the thought process that he's been mastering for so long, he visualized the magic of the Storm right infront of him - the clouds were gathering as a contrary to the heat waves that were present above in the air, just above the ocean.
  87.
  88. It was getting ready.
  89.
  90. Last but not least, he used Reflexive Casting to increase humidity in the atmosphere, and condense the air while at it as well. Having several processes like that was not easy - luckily for him, he'd known how to perform Storm magic already, as he was an apprentice of it, and running such processes through his subconsciousness was not challenging.
  91.
  92. A thunder followed, natural reaction to different temperatures clashing. Yet, it lacked lightning, but that's something he'd fix soon enough.
  93.
  94. "My name is Arthur."
  95.
  96. "--And that will have to wait."
  97.
  98. Whether Kihon stayed about to witness what happens next or not is a different question.
  99. (Arthur Rowan)
  100.
  101. Kihon nods to Arthur.
  102.
  103. "Okay." he said before turning his head towards the ocean watching Arthur make a cloud out of nothing, amazing. While observing he noticed that storms usually have lighting in them, in the back of Kihon's head he knew that the Redhead teen was missing one of three magics inorder to perfectly create a storm.
  104.
  105. Kihon would just take out his dagger, a small towel and some polish and would begin cleaning the blade as he watched Arthur and his training it was an interesting show to see.
  106. (Kihon)
  107.
  108. It lacked one last element.
  109.
  110. A final touch to the Storm, before he could draw it's power for himself and create the true chaos of the weather - lightning. A single, final strike of an artist's brush, and the whole picture would be complete, the silhouette would be outlined, and the composition clear.
  111.
  112. It's almost poetic, to create something like this.
  113.
  114. Gathering the electricity in his palms, it was the final stroke that he's been preparing himself for so much; utilizing the Mixed Casting he's been doing all along, and shooting out the large current of various lightning arcs, they all struck the sky, inducing a heat wave that was bound to increase the temperature drastically in the atmosphere--
  115.
  116. -- and obviously, imprint on it.
  117.
  118. The first lightning was sighted. A loud thunder, and the Storm was ready; but much like the last time, he remembered that it was also necessary to draw the Storm's power, to attempt to wield it, to chain it and bind to his own will.
  119.
  120. It's not possible to do if he's always too cautious.
  121.
  122. Upon the second sight of lightning, it was immediately drawn to him, and along with humid particles and winds circling him, the power of lightning coursed his body - the power of Storm, at this point.
  123.
  124. He'd almost waiver, but Arthur stood strong enough to bear with its power for at least a short while, unlike being immediately submitted by it like the last time. Something... changed, be it his determination or his strength.
  125.
  126. And within a moment's notice, the lightning was directed back to the clouds. He was making progress, but he could not contain Storm's power.
  127.
  128. Yet.
  129.
  130. "--Okay."
  131.
  132. "That was... something."
  133. (Arthur Rowan)
