   she was born in seoul, south korea but was soon quickly moved to melbourne, australia when she was just a few months old. the sudden move was due to her father's work. the girl has one older brother and two younger brothers ( whom both were born in australia ). her older brother, eunjeong - 은정, was four years older than her. soojin - 수진 and soobin - 수빈 was a year younger than her. estelle was never the type to go out and play. the girl would often watch tv with soobin while soojin and eunjeong would always play outside. it was obvious who were the extroverts and who were the introverts. there, she and her family lived her grandparents. often times, she would be in the backyard watching her grandfather garden while the rest of her siblings helped their grandmother with baking.

 around the end of december 2OO8, her family moved to america. though there was a specific reason on why they moved, estelle had never payed much attention to it and forgot about it. she was saddened by the thought of her leaving her grandparents. though with this move, she was suddenly scouted for a brand. she was suddenly offered one day when she and her family went to a restaurant for dinner. both parents hesitated to accept the card when offered but the girl seemed excited. estelle had to beg her parents to allow her to try modelling and in the end she did it for a few years under the alias tori moon.

   when estelle was almost sixteen years old, her family went to korea to visit their grandparents there. while they were there, there were a few auditions happening. soobin joked that he wouldn't be surprised if estelle auditioned and was accepted and would totally accept her. estelle, though, didn't get his joke and took it as a sign of encouragement to try something new. because of this, she auditioned secretly. so when she was suddenly accepted, she got a whole lecture on why she should've told her family. in the end they still supported her decision and let her move back to korea.
