[11:58 PM] Leafia_Barrett: Sol's not going to have to do much to spice up that fight, WoF would translate to A Thing in person - a massive constantly advancing wall of meat and bone that sprays lasers, spawns countless minions, and has countless mouths extending from it on tentacles trying to eat anything in range

  11. [12:03 AM] Leafia_Barrett: I don't think it is, but at the same time it could still be used in-story, assuming the actual composition of hell wouldn't have really been known when the phrase had come into existence

  15. [12:05 AM] Kiri: There is no one 'wall', there is no end, it looks like the entire cavern is sprouting hundreds of thousands of mouths and is grasping with anything vaguely tendril-like to try and eat anything that isn't already a part of its infinite self

[12:09 AM] Leafia_Barrett: how would Sol react to Lilac putting the music on external and just basically jamming out out loud while raining laser blasts and metal darts into the thing, since that's basically what happened in the original telling of the story (minus the lasers because she had no arm cannon at the time) along with in-game (see previous)

  24. [12:14 AM] Kiri: Everyone else is probably running their minds through a lot of thoughts like 'oh god how do we even get home like this', 'what's there to stab on a dimension', 'what happens if we die here to this'

  27. [12:15 AM] Kiri: if you want me to sorta give you like... staging for an intepretation of the fight
  28. [12:15 AM] Leafia_Barrett: getting rid of that whole problem is the whole reason she starts singing - turn off most of the brain and just tunnel vision on problem until problem is deleted
  29. [12:15 AM] Kiri: I like the thought that someone does actively state out loud 'what the fuck do we shoot to make an entire dimension of meat stop moving, this is a nightmare'

  31. [12:16 AM] Kiri: But from there it might not be hard to notice, it is wailing in pain when struck

  33. [12:16 AM] Kiri: so it boils down to 'handle the infinite mass of lunging mouths and shoot walls until it gets loud enough that we think we're onto something, it has to have a heart somewhere in here'

  36. [12:17 AM] Kiri: in my head it's more that we literally have to find whatever is driving this abomination
  37. [12:17 AM] Kiri: in-game you're constantly moving to get away from it
  38. [12:17 AM] Kiri: but like, what I'm saying is, we're moving to try and figure out where the hell this thing's vitals are hidden away

  40. [12:18 AM] Kiri: Jergingha But It's Made of Meat and Blood
  41. [12:18 AM] Leafia_Barrett: blow up parts of it until something resembling a vital organ shows up
  42. [12:18 AM] Leafia_Barrett: there's no rhyme or reason to where the heart would be on a meat dimension, so just start looking

  49. [12:19 AM] Kiri: Imagine instead of the wall of flesh's mouths, lasers and all that fucking mess was just

  52. [12:20 AM] Kiri: And the actual thing with a health bar was now just 'somewhere in hell'
  53. [12:20 AM] Kiri: the spawn rate is like, octupled
  54. [12:20 AM] Kiri: occasionally the walls and floor and ceiling undulate in horrible ways a la the actual fight
  55. [12:20 AM] Leafia_Barrett: the floor is angry mouths
  56. [12:21 AM] Kiri: What I'm proposing is the idea that the 'Wall of Flesh' is more sensitive in regions closer to its vitals.
  57. [12:21 AM] Kiri: Thus it screams louder if we shoot areas closer to its heart.
  58. [12:21 AM] Leafia_Barrett: ohh okay yeah
  59. [12:22 AM] Kiri: Throw out the preconception that 'well, it's Hell, and hell is agony and screaming and fire'
  60. [12:22 AM] Kiri: It has no reason to perceive pain unless it has something to hide.
  61. [12:22 AM] Kiri: It has no logical sensible reason to feel things that would make it anything but a better killing machine unless it can be killed and has reasons to be scared.
  62. [12:23 AM] Kiri: One or the other of the people in the group catch on that, hey, it's not just wailing and screaming to be scary
  63. [12:24 AM] Kiri: that's reactive. You just shot one of its eyes out into a puddle of pus and viscera and it fucking screamed over it.
