- Jump #359: Kara no Kyoukai
- >The Emperor: Worldly authority and power.
- >Age: 17
- >Location: Mifune City, February 1999
- >Identity: Magus (-300)
- As though anyone expected otherwise from me.
- >Origin: Change (Free)
- Well, it actually depends on how you're translating it. At its base it's change, but alteration, metamorphosis, and transition are covered under its aegis as well. All different sorts of change.
- >Magic Circuits (x4) (400)
- First one's free, and threemore gives me 110 high quality circuits. Helpful, certainly exceptional, but not overpowering. 130, if we count the freebies I got from Tsukihime.
- >Resistance (Free, Magus)
- Helpful to be able to flush out unpleasant effects from my system with magic.
- >Magecraft (Free, Magus)
- Well, what good is having magic circuits if I can't use them?
- >Magic Crest (0)
- A magic crest from a heretofore unknown family? Well, hardly the strangest thing that anyone's seen in this universe. No one needs to know that I've got this - but I'll be studying it in detail.
- February... I missed basically all of the canon plot, so instead I disentangled myself from most of the potential weirdness, and spent the next ten years wandering the world learning magecraft. Sure, my eight clones only have 25% of my power, but that still puts them head and shoulders above the average mage with 30+ magic circuits apiece. My real self was reconciling all that I was learning into a coherent whole, and basically turning what is effectively a half-century of tutoring into a cohesive system.
- It went pretty well, aside from the matter of a few of my mentors coordinating once they found out I was cheating by being in more than one place at a time. But in the end, the fallout from three Clocktower mages going "how are you in more than one place at once?" wasn't as bad as I expected - they basically rolled their eyes and blamed Zelretch.
- Which amused him.
- Because it also got his attention.
- It was at this moment that Crux realized he fucked up.
