- Currently we have a list of viable threats in the current metagame, called the Viability Rankings, created by the best players of the tier. However, we basically only see the Pokemon in the said tiers, and we never see what they do. Newer players might get confused because of this and see that Landorus-Therian is a threat in the metagame, while being unknowing what it does exactly. I have made a list for the metagame.

- Aegislash:
- Aegislash has a good typing with Ghost/Steel and is very often paired with Hydreigon for its solid typing and offensive capabilities.
- - It generally carries Weakness Policy. That boosts its incredible attack that it already has to a higher level, making it a very scary threat.
- - Leftovers is generally used for Substitute sets.
- - Also Safety Goggles and Life Orb is used. Safety Goggles makes it so that you basically don't get affected by Amoonguss and Life Orb makes it, again, way scarier.
- - It ALWAYS carries King's Shield. King's Shield makes up for very interesting mind games. It's a way better Protect, and it makes it so you can use your ability (Stance Change) too. Don't try to beat Aegislash with physical attacks for this reason.
- - Shadow Ball is a strong STAB attack, as well as Flash Cannon, dealing tons of damage.
- - Wide Guard is used too to block out opposing Landorus-Therians that deal damage with Earthquake.
- - Substitute sets also get used, but not very often. It's more difficult to take down Aegislash if it has a Substitute up.

- Amoonguss:
- Amoonguss is one of the most annoying Pokémon in the metagame, due to the fact that it has amazing defensive capabilites as well has having great utility. Not only that; but also the typing and ability it has is great.
- - Most often Amoonguss will use Regenerator, the ability to switch out and heal for a pretty significant amount is incredibly useful, for making it live longer and spread the utility which is crucial.
- - Rocky Helmet makes it so that you can redirect physical attacks from Kangaskhan, Metagross etc. so they will take Rocky Helmet damage. It also makes it able for Amoonguss to switch in into physical attacks.
- - Sitrus Berry just give it an extra amount of bulkiness that makes it able for Amoonguss to live even longer to spread its utility.
- - Black Sludge is just like Leftovers, it gives a more consistent way of healing.
- - Amoonguss always uses Spore, and this is its main move. Sleep is an amazing way to shut down opponents completely which gives way more opportunities for your team. Amoonguss lives almost always for long enough to be able to at least Spore one opponent.
- - Rage Powder is a redirection move, that makes it so that you are able to save your opponent from getting possibly OHKOd. You can also redirect status moves like Thunder Wave, Will-O-Wisp and Toxic. Remember that Rage Powder does not work on enemies that are Grass-typed or have Safety Goggles.
- - Giga Drain is the go-to attacking move, you won't deal a lot of damage with this considering Amoonguss is not a major powerhouse of any sort, but using this move makes it so that you won't be completely shut down by Taunt. It also gives a little bit of healing.
- - Protect makes it able so you can stall out turns of Tailwind, Trick Room, Status and more. You can switch around all momentum of the game.
- - Sludge Bomb makes it able to hit other Grass-types as well as having a chance to poison your opponent, which can be really handy in some situations.
-
- Mega-Charizard-Y:
- Mega-Charizard-Y is a great Pokémon that just brings more than only setting up Sun; while Mega-Charizard-Y obviously can setup Sun, he carries a lot of power in his attacks and makes it so that nothing can really switch-in without taking tons of damage.
- - Solar Beam with Sun up makes it so that Water-types are almost entirely shut down, considering Water-types also have halved attack damage in Sun.
- - Heat Wave deals tons of damage and is a spread move you should always look out for. Especially in Sun, Heat Wave will deal tons of damage, and there is nothing that can really switch in into Charizard freely.
- - Focus Blast beats Rock Pokémon that otherwise would be threatening for Charizard, such as Tyranitar. Be aware though, this move is known for missing very often.
- - Overheat in Sun is absolutely devastating. Be very aware from this nuke attack because you will very likely not live this attack.
-
- Cresselia:
- - Safety Goggles makes it so that your Cresselia won't be entirely shut down by Pokemon that can induce sleep such as Breloom or Amoonguss. Interesting to note; both Breloom and Amoonguss are weak to Psyshock.
- - Rocky Helmet makes it more difficult for physical attackers to beat Cresselia. Especially considering Cresselia is a bulky Pokémon and has Calm Mind to boost it's Special Defense.
- - Mental Herb makes you able to set up Trick Room without having to worry about getting Taunted by an opposing Thundurus or Keldeo.
- - Leftovers gives a slightly better amount of bulk, considering you will be healing constantly.
- - Sitrus Berry gives even a better amount of bulk, however this is only a one-use item so once it gets used you won't be able to use it again.
- - Moonlight heals 50% of your max HP. However, be aware of playing in Rain, Sand or Hail considering Moonlight will heal way less then. In Sun though you will heal more.
- - Calm Mind makes it much more annoying for your opponent to take it down. With the bulk that Cresselia already has it is almost always able to setup a few Calm Mind boosts.
- - Trick Room is a great move for Cresselia, again with the bulk Cresselia has, it's almost always able to get Trick Room up.
- - Psychic/Psyshock is the standard attack that Cresselia carries. Even though Cresselia doesn't have high Special Attack, which can be boosted by Calm Mind, it's a nice move
- - Ice Beam/Icy Wind
- - Helping Hand

- Mega-Kangaskhan:
- Keldeo:
