  1. The Book of Aaron
  2.
  3. --------------------Chapter 1--------------------
  4.
  5. Traditionally composing of Alma 21
  6.
  7. An account of Aaron, Muloki, and other moral teachers who taught the Lamanites.
  8.
  9. 1 When Aaron and his brothers had separated and the borders of the Lamanite kingdom, Aaron traveled towards the Land of the Great City.
  10.
  11. 2 This city was named because those that founded it were ignorant of the history of the original Great City.
  12.
  13. 3 The Land of The Great City bordered the Land of Mormon.
  14.
  15. 4 The Lamanites, the people of Amulon called Amulonites, and a faction of Nehorites called Amalekites had built The Great City.
  16.
  17. 5 The Lamanites were immoral, but the Amulonites and Amalekites were even more immoral and refined the Lamanite immorality.
  18.
  19. 6 Aaron came to The Great City and tried to teach the Amalekites.
  20.
  21. 7 He taught in the temples that were built as Nehor had instructed them to be built.
  22.
  23. 8 The first time he taught there, an Amalekite said to him:
  24.
  25. 9 "What are you teaching us?
  26.
  27. 10 Have you seen the benefits of what you are teaching? We have not!
  28.
  29. 11 Are we not as good as your people?
  30.
  31. 12 You have said that we should turn away from our immorality or we will die.
  32.
  33. 13 How do you know us? How do you know we aren't moral?
  34.
  35. 14 You don't know us!
  36.
  37. 15 We have built temples and gather together to teach one another."
  38.
  39. 16 Aaron said to him:
  40.
  41. 17 "Do you believe that by working together everyone is better off?"
  42.
  43. 18 The man said:
  44.
  45. 19 "We do not because it is a foolish tradition.
  46.
  47. 20 We believe your fathers taught this but took advantage of our fathers because of it."
  48.
  49. 21 Aaron taught the true history of their ancestors, and how it was Laman and Lemuel that harmed others.
  50.
  51. 22 Those listening became angry with him and began to mock him.
  52.
  53. 23 When Aaron saw that they would not listen to him, he left the temple and came to a village called Ani-anti.
  54.
  55. 24 In Ani-anti Aaron met Muloki and Ammah who were teaching morality to the city.
  56.
  57. 25 The people in this city were also immoral, so they went to the Land of Middoni where they taught many people morality, but only a few believed in morality.
  58.
  59. 26 They were thrown into prison and many moral people fled to the lands around Middoni.
  60.
  61. 27 In prison they suffered many hardships, but were freed with the help of King Lamoni and Ammon.
  62.
  63. 28 They were then given food, water, and clothes.
  64.
  65. 29 They returned to teaching morality to the Amulonites, Amalekites, and Lamanites where ever they were able to.
  66.
  67. 30 Many believed these lessons on morality and many turned away from their immoral life styles.
  68.
  69. 31 Ammon and Lamoni returned to the Land of Ishmael from the Land of Middoni.
  70.
  71. 32 King Lamoni did not want Ammon to serve him or be his slave.
  72.
  73. 33 King Lamoni had a temple for meditation be built in the Land of Ishmael.
  74.
  75. 34 He encouraged his people to gather there to listen to the words of morality.
  76.
  77. 35 King Lamoni was happy that his people listened and he taught them many things.
  78.
  79. 36 He declared that his people would no longer practice slavery or be oppressed by the Lamanite king.
  80.
  81. 37 He declared that the moral people would be protected and that the land would be one of liberty.
  82.
  83. 38 Ammon also taught many things to the people pertaining to morality.
  84.
  85. 39 When he taught morality, the people listened and implemented the lessons into their lives.
  86.
  87. --------------------Chapter 2--------------------
  88.
  89. Traditionally composing of Alma 22
  90.
  91. 1 After Aaron left the Land of Middoni he decided to go to the Land of Nephi, where the king of all Lamanites reigned.
  92.
  93. 2 Aaron and those traveling with him went into the king's palace and bowed before the king and said:
  94.
  95. 3 "Oh, king, I am the brother of Ammon who you released from prison.
  96.
  97. 4 If you spare the lives of my companions and myself, we will be your slaves."
  98.
  99. 5 The king said to them:
  100.
  101. 6 "Arise.
  102.
  103. 7 I will spare your lives and will not have you as my slaves.
  104.
  105. 8 You will still work for me, however.
  106.
  107. 9 I have been puzzled by the generosity and the things that your brother Ammon spoke.
  108.
  109. 10 Why did he not come out of Middoni with you?"
  110.
  111. 11 Aaron said to the king:
  112.
  113. 12 "He has gone to the Land of Ishmael to teach morality to the people there."
  114.
  115. 13 The king asked:
  116.
  117. 14 "What is it he is teaching?"
  118.
  119. 15 Aaron responded by saying:
  120.
  121. 16 "Do you believe there is right and wrong?"
  122.
  123. 17 The king responded by saying:
  124.
  125. 18 "There are many that believe there is a right and wrong, such as the Amalekites.
  126.
  127. 19 I have even let them build rameumptoms to gather together to teach their lessons."
  128.
  129. 20 Aaron was happy when he heard this, and said:
  130.
  131. 21 "There assuredly is a right and a wrong, my king."
  132.
  133. 22 The king asked:
  134.
  135. 23 "Did our ancestor Lehi do the right thing in leading us out of The Great City?"
  136.
  137. 24 Aaron responded by saying:
  138.
  139. 25 "Yes, it was by doing the right thing that Lehi journeyed here."
  140.
  141. 26 The king said:
  142.
  143. 27 "I want to hear everything you have to teach me.
  144.
  145. 28 Whatever you teach me, I will believe."
  146.
  147. 29 When Aaron heard this, he started reciting the history of their ancestors.
  148.
  149. 30 He taught that morality made the world a better place.
  150.
  151. 31 He taught that no one can do anything for themselves.
  152.
  153. 32 Everyone is dependent on others for some things.
  154.
  155. 33 We are all connected to each other because of this.
  156.
  157. 34 When we help one another we strengthen those connections and break the bands of death.
  158.
  159. 35 We will be remembered for the good things we do in life and pass on those moral habits.
  160.
  161. 36 In this way we never die, but have eternal life.
  162.
  163. 37 The king asked:
  164.
  165. 38 "What do I have to do to have eternal life as you have taught?
  166.
  167. 39 What do I need to do to live a moral life?
  168.
  169. 40 How do I remove the immorality that has taken root in my life?"
  170.
  171. 41 Aaron answered by saying:
  172.
  173. 42 "If you want these things, you simply must stop living an immoral life and lead a moral one."
  174.
  175. 43 When the king had heard these things, the king bowed to Aaron and, through tears, said:
  176.
  177. 44 "If what you have taught is true, and there is a there is a right and wrong, and you teach morality, I want to see the benefits of it in my life.
  178.
  179. 45 I will give away all my immorality to know it.
  180.
  181. 46 I want to be remembered as a moral king."
  182.
  183. 47 The king became so moved with emotion that he fell to the ground as if he were dead.
  184.
  185. 48 His slaves ran and told the queen what had happened.
  186.
  187. 49 When she came to the king she thought he was dead.
  188.
  189. 50 Aaron and his companions were standing over him and she believed that it was them who killed him.
  190.
  191. 51 She was angry with them and ordered her slaves to kill them.
  192.
  193. 52 The slaves, however, saw why the king had fallen, and did not want to kill them.
  194.
  195. 53 They begged the queen by saying:
  196.
  197. 54 "Why would you order us to kill these men when they are more moral than us?
  198.
  199. 55 We would leave behind a damning legacy if we were to kill them."
  200.
  201. 56 When the queen saw the slaves would not kill them, she ordered her slaves to have her people gather together as a mob to kill them.
  202.
  203. 57 Aaron saw the determination of the queen and knew that the people would kill them if they came.
  204.
  205. 48 This is why he helped the king off the ground, who was able to stand upon his own feet by his own strength.
  206.
  207. 49 The queen and many slaves saw this, and were surprised by this.
  208.
  209. 50 The king began to teach lessons in morality as well.
  210.
  211. 51 He taught morality so well that his whole house committed to living a moral life.
  212.
  213. 52 A slave, however, did go and rally the people as the queen had ordered.
  214.
  215. 53 The people began to riot because of Aaron and his companions.
  216.
  217. 54 The king approached them and taught them lessons of morality.
  218.
  219. 55 After these lessons, the people were pacified toward Aaron and those who were with him.
  220.
  221. 56 When the king saw that the people were pacified, he had Aaron and his companions teach the crowd morality.
  222.
  223. 57 The king sent a proclamation throughout all the Kingdom of the Lamanites, which bordered the sea on both the east and west, and were separated from the Republic of Zarahemla by a narrow strip of wilderness which ran from coast to coast.
  224.
  225. 58 Many Lamanites lived in the wildernesses in tents throughout the Lamanite Kingdom.
  226.
  227. 59 The Lamanites went from west to east, and spread throughout the land below the narrow strip of wilderness.
  228.
  229. 60 The Nephites had taken possession of all the land north of the narrow strip of wilderness, including the head of the river Sidon, all the way into the Land of Bountiful.
  230.
  231. 61 The Land of Bountiful bordered the Land of Desolation.
  232.
  233. 62 The Land of Desolation, which had been re-discovered by the people of Zarahemla, was once inhabited by the people who had been destroyed and their bones scattered the ground.
  234.
  235. 63 Between the Land of Desolation and the Land of Bountiful was a narrow neck of land.
  236.
  237. 64 The Land of Desolation was to the north, and the Land of Bountiful was to the south.
  238.
  239. 65 Bountiful was given its name because it had many wild animals that were good for food.
  240.
  241. 66 The inhabitants of the Land of Bountiful were Nephites as well.
  242.
  243. 67 The Nephites colonized this land so the Lamanites could not take possession of the Land of Desolation and surround the Nephites.
  244.
  245. --------------------Chapter 3--------------------
  246.
  247. Traditionally composing of Alma 23
  248.
  249. 1 The King of the Lamanites sent out a proclamation to all of his people saying that they should not harm Ammon, Aaron, Omner, Himni, or anyone traveling with them.
  250.
  251. 2 He did not want them arrested, thrown in prison, spit on, or beaten.
  252.
  253. 3 He wanted people to feel free to invite them into their home and rameumptoms.
  254.
  255. 4 The king did this because he wanted morality to spread throughout his kingdom.
  256.
  257. 5 He wanted his people to give up their immoral behaviors and beliefs.
  258.
  259. 6 He wanted them to see that the Lamanites and Nephites were all family, and that they should not kill, steal, or cheat with each other.
  260.
  261. 7 He wanted there to be peace between the 2 people.
  262.
  263. 8 After the proclamation was made, Aaron and his brothers went from city-to-city and rameumptom-to-rameumptom establishing Almakite communities, and helping people teach morality.
  264.
  265. 9 They were treated very kindly and thousands of people committed to living moral lives.
  266.
  267. 10 These people were taught the true history of their ancestors, which had been hidden from them.
  268.
  269. 11 The Lamanites became a moral people.
  270.
  271. 12 They laid down their weapons of war and hatred, which they had carried with them for so long.
  272.
  273. 13 The Lamanites in the lands of Ishmael, Middoni, Shilom, Nephi, Shemlon, Lemuel, and Shimnilom all committed to living moral lives.
  274.
  275. 14 The only people who did not commit to living moral lives were the Amalekites, Amulonites, Nehorites, and other Lamanites who lived close to them. They collectively still called themselves Lamanites.
  276.
  277. 15 They were a very stubborn and immoral people.
  278.
  279. 16 The king and his people wanted a new name to call themselves after their change of heart.
  280.
  281. 17 The king talked with Aaron and many Almakite teachers about what they should call themselves.
  282.
  283. 17 They decided to call themselves Ammonites and no longer call themselves Lamanites.
  284.
  285. 18 They began to be a very industrious people and they were friendly with the Nephites.
