Yeah, it gives her precisely what she wants, but it also means that since he won't talk to her so he won't open himself up to immediate and very public ridicule.

I just couldn't think of anything that he could do that wouldn't have her lashing back forty-seven times worse.

(19:23:45) Emperor: I appreciate the apology. We hadn't initiated anything towards Elvyra in the 1st place is where the concern had come up from in the beginning. No one said anything directly to her and yet we were drawn in because of the commentaries. But yes I feel that is the best course of action here. I mean if she would have done that...then you could be sure the situation would simply be escalated. He is used to being on guard. People try to assassin him on a daily basis. I just don't want to put you in an uncomfortable position since your consent limits are rather high and clash with the way the group operates. If she does a thing I would expect the right to jab back. And since that wouldn't be able to be applied without toeing on your lines. It is restrictive and would not work out. So it is best to enforce distancing. So long as you do not engage with us then the same favor will be given to you. But if poking happens then I will apologize in advance if your consent is ignored. Because there will be retaliation.

Elly is a picker, my dude, especially when dogs are concerned, any chance she has to bring one down she will do so. Your group is quite large, so the run-ins are entirely unavoidable especially if a public announcement of services is offered. But now I am honestly 100% genuinely curious-- How would you work around a player's consent?

(19:47:04) Emperor: I simply mean I will have the right to jab back in the way deemed suitable to my character's playstyle. The way I play him he would not ignore such a thing. His reputation means everything to him and it is a crime in his culture. So if your character can just say whatever she wants towards him, with no possibility for repercussions that is not plausible and breaks the realities of my character's personality. So it is best they don't interact at all and go on as if  the other simply does not exist. I am speaking with my group on this matter as well and have agreed to not engage either.

(20:00:34)   Elvyra: I am open to mutual failed assassination attempts. Emp's prone to having his enemies fucked with, Elly's certainly prone to that as well. I am by no means insisting that your character NOT act like your character cause that would be absolute bullshit on my part. Just like you shouldn't expect Elly to not respond to a public post about something she finds ridiculous, like a guy with a kingdom who can't find who stole his pipe. Not all retaliation was rejected, just him going for Ugly since he'd have to somehow find her alone, and my resistance was mostly for his benefit. If you'd insisted on stealing Ugly, I would've insisted on doing what my character would've certainly done which is have one of his either badly mangled or killed. Knowing Elly it would've had to been being killed, yknow? She's batshit. Pretty much a you take my baby, I kill your baby kinda thing. She's a one-upper. I

(20:20:52) Emperor: You had also mentioned the horse and the whole ransoming thing. Which was a huge step down from a killing and that was also rejected. It just seems like a huge potential for a lot of ooc drama to brew and I rather not go down that road. Just this situation alone has already sprung up my anxiety and feeling stuck in like a helpless position where my hands seem to being tied so Elvyra can do whatever she pleases and I have to sit there on a powerful tyrant character and sit and take it. That might not be the intention but that is how it feels and is being perceived by me. Like when you say things like: Well have them ignore her. And that she would technically get what she wants. That is not applicable to his character's demeanor which puts me in an awkward situation in which I feel I can not act. Plus he had said he wasn't going to go after her directly and that is why I suggested the other lesser things.  I think for now we should try this not engaging both ways and hopefully feelings will come down and we can try to plot again in the future. But for now I think both groups could use some time. Thanks for the assassination option but I wouldn't like to have it need to escalate to that. At this point at least. xD
