When she fell, she was close by Creighton, her eyes wide open. Those beautiful Kadas'sa'Nikto eyes, always so full of bright optimism, now full of tears and raindrops.
"Aida," he rasped, feeling his own life energy flowing quickly away from him.
Aida looked at him and smiled, actually smiled, though blood began to trickle from her mouth and nose.
"I am with you, Creighton," she said quietly. "My friend." Her smile brightened for one quick moment- a supernova in the darkness-before it faded and her eyes closed.
