If a box was design for mostly archive...
The local storage would be significant.  So I'd encourage redundancy for os drives, power supplies, nics, etc...
 Just because you DON'T want to have to decomm that server.  Too much data in one place...
Low RAM, no YARN.  Just DN.
I would exclude it from balancers too, that is the normal day-to-day balancer.
 Only balance between ARCHIVE boxes, IF needed.
