  1. Abandoned Magnet Train Station (Ecruteak City)
  2.
  3. The Ecruteak Magnet Train Station was built in 1952 and completed on March 3, 1954. It was the first station of its kind in the region and in its hayday, it could transport people from Johto to Kanto quicker than most vessels. Not only that but the ticket price of a magnet train ride was cheaper than the ticket price of a boat ride. Because of these reasons, the magnet train quickly rose in popularity.

  5. In the 1970's, a war between Kanto and Johto broke out after the leader of Johto accepted the Kanto leader's offer of fighting him when their "My region's Pidgey is bigger than your region's Pidgey" debate reached a fever pitch. During this time, The Magnet Train became popular with the Johtonite army as it was a good alternative mode of transportation for sending soldiers and supplies mainly due to its speed. However, an Electrode was dropped on the station's roof and caused significant damage to it when the Electrode exploded.

  7. Shortly after the war, another Magnet Train station was built in Goldenrod City. This station was much cheaper and easier to maintain than the one in Ecruteak City. Not only that but the actual train itself was much faster than the one in Ecruteak City and it could travel to both Kanto and Mt. Silver, as opposed to the Ecruteak train which was only capable of travelling to Kanto. The Goldenrod ticket prices were also slightly cheaper than the one in Ecruteak. For all of these reasons, the Ecruteak Magnet Train station was forced to shut down. Ever since then, nature has been slowly overtaking the station both inside and out. A few wild Pokemon, such as an Exeggcute, have made the station their new home.

  9. Despite the station's abandoned state, it is surprisingly untouched, even when nature has overtaken it. For example, there is a bit of money left in the machine next to the rusted metal bond box, which was attached to the side of a "Sam the Skarmory" cardboard cutout to make it look like he was wearing a small bag. Not only that but the posters that are plastered throughout the station (such as an "Ours are Bigger!" poster showcasing the supposed size difference between a Johto and Mango Pidgey), are in pristine condition.
