- Guy vs Corv
- Guy's First Post
- * Mirror Master's ability to enter any reflective surface allows a rather solid advantage. Not only is the battleground ripe for his power, but Magik's mirror would also be within the scope of his powers
- * Lyra has the same scaling chains as both Magik and Sabertooth when it comes to speed, meaning that there's no serious advantage either has over her. Combined with her greater physicals Corv's team can't withstand the force she can dish out on a direct hit
- * Guy contends that no one in Corv's team can resist the glass gun's matter manipulation powers
- * Mirror Master's clones, illusions and his ability to transfer himself into the mirror dimension. While guy gives Corv that Sabertooth senses could likely counter, he argues that Magik has no ability to see through the mirror illusions and that OoT characters struggle to get past Mirror Master's dimensional jumps
- Corv's First Post
- * The first comment is mostly a stat post similar to his previous responses. Detailing Sabertooth's and Magik's physical abilities
- * Corv contends that Mirror Master can't create extra-dimensional portals with mirrors. Which would put Magik's scrying mirror out of his reach
- * Corv then later clarifies that while you can access Limbo with science, the Mirror Dimension is tied to Earth specifically and wouldn't be able to dimension hop as Guy suggests
- * Corv as an additional point gives a scan where Magik can cast counter spells that prevent teleportation into a location. Though to be pedantic, that is different from preventing teleportation out of location, but Guy doesn't argue against it
- * Corv contends that his team is far better suited for actual planning and teamwork compared to Guy's team, especially due to the clashing sexism of both Mirror Master and Lyra.
- * Corv goes with his previous argument of Scrying into ranged BFR into limbo. Which would get Lyra out of the fight
- * Corv dismisses the She-Hulk scaling, showing evidence of where She-Hulk overpowers Lyra rather easily. Additionally, the showing of Sabertooth being one shot by a blow was pre-Adamanitum skeleton. After he got the upgrade he could withstand multiple blows from Hulk while remaining conscious
- * Corv contends that Sabertooth's adamantium, superior skill, and knowledge of how to aggravate, combined with Lyra's showings of being susceptible to Adamantium would allow him to win in a fight
- * Corv contends that Sabertooth's senses would let him bypass the Mirror Clones and give him early warnings to attacks. If that's not enough, Magik's portals, defensive spells and transmutation spells would let her counter the Mirror Gun
- Guy's Second Post
- * Guy contends that Corv hasn't posted any evidence of Magik going to the Mirror World's 4th Dimensional space (or an equivalent to it). With the scans either having Magik return home rather than to another zone or being too vague to be used.
- * Following the above, Guy contends that both can enter the Mirror World, Mirror Master's superior knowledge of the location would still give him the ability to control the initiative
- * Guy shows evidence of Mirror Master working with significantly worse people than Lyra because he's getting paid. With the stipulation in mind, MM wouldn't really care to work with Lyra
- * Guy contends that Sabertooth is a lone-wolf operator and will attack people even if he knows they're being truthful. Guy then argues that Sabertooth falling lockstep with Magik is a sketchy proposition
- * Guy contends that the evidence for Sabertooth finding out a weakness is just knowing the Hulk gets stronger with anger. This isn't really a thing he got from the fight, but just general universal knowledge. Him figuring out Lyra gets weaker with wage is therefore a questionable assumption
- * Guy posts ten examples of Magik not opening with portal BFR, even when she has the drop on her enemy. Additionally of the various portal BFRs, he contends only one actually involves her sending someone to another dimension.
- * Guy pushes back on the claim that Lyra doesn't scale to She-Hulk, showing evidence of Lyra going toe to toe with She-Hulk in the same comic where the train car is punched through the street
- * Guy claims that the ease of countering the Mirror gun put forward by Corv is more or less exaggerated. Magik has no means of telling illisions apart, Sabertooth has left his friends for dead before when he feels like he doesn't need them and MM can stop sound travelling in the Mirror Dimension if he wants
- Corv's Second Post
- * Corv opposes' Guy's arguments about the Mirror World being inaccessible to Magik. After all the back and forth I'm not seeing any reason why Magik wouldn't be able to reach the Mirror World with her abilities
- * Corv disagrees with Guy's arguments about Magik not BFR'ing her enemies. Additionally arguing that in the 10 examples of not BFR'ing someone, six of them wouldn't be evidence that she doesn't use BFR
- * Corv covers why he thinks that the Mirror World would be worse for Lyra than for his team
- * Corv posts counter-arguments of how well MM and Lyra will get along
- * Corv then covers why they think Sabertooth and Magik's inherit teamwork advantages and abilities would serve as a counter to Guy's team
- Conclusion
- I think I ultimately side more with Guy's arguments than Corv's. Lyra has the same scaling as Magik and Sabertooth, neither of the Marvel Team can survive the Mirror Gun shooting them (with the only counter being Magik undoing the process if it hits Sabertooth).
- MM's control of the Mirror Dimension and being able to more or less force the enemy team onto his turf seems like something only Magik has any real counter to. His illusions, and the mirror gun combined with Lyra's superior physicals seem like they'd overwhelm Corv's team.
- Since a single landed shot negates one of his opponents. It comes down to whether Magik's BFR will take someone out before Lyra or MM's gun takes someone out, and while Magik goes for portals she comes off as inconsistent to me and Guy showed a few examples of people being able to react to her portals before they send them somewhere.
- Ultimately I think Guy's team stands a better chance at winning a fight compared to Corv's team. Though admittedly it's like 99% Mirror Master carrying that Win Condition since I think Lyra can probably lose to either Sabertooth or Magik unless she's uncharacteristically competent.
