<Tenrei> As Grim Shadow Walking's faint laughter echoes inside the room.
<Maryn> ..poor thing..
* Minase stands in the middle of the group and raises her sword, which is now wreathed in flames. Its blaze then intensifies and attempts to drive back the choking shadows
<Tenrei> "You're fools. You know that, right? To come into the darkness to fight me... maybe it's a death wish? Tired of living? I understand. I'd be happy to oblige. Just step right this way. Or that way. Any way, really. You don't even have to move. I'll do it for you."
<Maryn> Sorry only one person can do that for me...
* Maryn holds up her sword in front with Minase.
<Tenrei> The shadows move back, but less so than you'd normally expect. It seems the archdemon's presence is suppressing the light.
* Minase commits her willpower and effort to combating the encroaching shadows
<[Rut]Ellise> Don't burn yourself out now, Minase~
* [Rut]Ellise smiles as usual, drinking from her flask. Despite that, her expression carries a certain grimness.
<Minase> Just focus on killing the demon, dammit!
* Minase is under visible strain
<Tenrei> Maryn barely dodges away as a shadowy spike flashes through the air she was occupying.
<Maryn> ...god damn...
* Maryn blinks a few times.
<Tenrei> It slowly melts, withdrawing into the darkness...
<Tenrei> Grim Shadow Walking is nowhere to be seen.
<Jung> What now?
* Minase grits her teeth and forces herself to channel even more power into the sword, not just attempting to stave off the shadows, but overcome them herself
* [Mode]Sara takes on a guarded stance, waiting for something to move before she can attack it.
<[Rut]Ellise> -- You can't overpower it.
<Maryn> Hey.. Minase.. you ok... da-damn.. it.. speak to me..
<Minase> 59Watch me...
* Oki looks out at the darkness with a bored expression and a lazy smile.
* Minase looks as if she's crying tears of fire.
<Oki> Come on, you pathetic patch of TREE-shade.
<Oki> Is that all you've fucking got?
* Oki looks over at Minase and raises an eyebrow. Her grin widens even more.
<Oki> Oooh~
<Oki> ...That's hot.
<Jung> I'd smack you silly for that pun, but this is not the time. I'll note to myself to do that later.

<Jung> I don't eat them!
* Jung retort!
<[Rut]Ellise> Hooray, we're fighting amongst ourselves!~
* Oki 's large, deep-red clawed hands are clenching and unclenching. She looks very, very impatient.
<Oki> Come ON, already.
<Oki> Where are you?
* [Rut]Ellise attempts to summon a second beholder.
<Maryn> ..damn it you all.. we can kill each other later..
<Oki> Where ARE you?
<Oki> 4COME ON OUT AND FIGHT ME LIKE A MAN, YOU LIMP-DICKED, INEFFECTIVE IMP!
* Oki screams at the top of her lungs, cackling madly
<Tenrei> Another spike flashes out, toward Oki.
<Jung> I do not like this one bit. I'm not a psychiatrist, k?
<Tenrei> "Such harsh language you have..."
<Tenrei> "Shouldn't you show respect to your elders?"
<[Mode]Sara> Not really.
* Oki effortlessly dodges the spike.
<Tenrei> It slowly melts, withdrawing into the darkness...
* [Rut]Ellise picks her ear with her pinky. She'd forgotten the biggest downside to having a screaming mad teammate: the screaming.
* [Rut]Ellise 's beholder emerges from her cauldron. She waves to Sara.
<Oki> 5What kind of miserable demon of your station agrees to this kind of job, anyway?
<[Rut]Ellise> He~y~ Mind giving my baby some cover~?
<Oki> 5You're a glorified housesitter. Truly, it's sickening.
<Tenrei> "It's not like I agreed to it. I was bound here. Weakened and imprisoned."
<Oki> 4EXCUSES.
<Maryn> Oh cmon Oki, stop being a cunt to it and try killing alraedy.
<[Mode]Sara> I can only cover so many people, Ellise.
* Oki turns her eyes on Maryn, casting a rather disturbing sort of predatory gaze over her.
<Tenrei> "I could just do this all day. Really, the Spike of Phineas is such a useful artifact."
<[Mode]Sara> I can try.
<Oki> 4Open your mouth at me again, Walküre, and I'll put something in it.
<Maryn> ...want to try me?
* Oki lazily flips her the bird, and turns back to the darkness.
<Maryn> That's what I thought.
* Jung , just to be on the safe side, go prone.
<Tenrei> Another spike flashes out, from behind Oki.
<Maryn> Cmon girls.. gimme a target here.. I'm sitting blind.
<[Rut]Ellise> Just  a minute, just a minute!~
* Maryn shifts her eyes left and right making sure she isn't being flanked.
<Oki> 5It's useful if you're a sad, wretched, little devil that hasn't got the stones to fight us in person.
* [Rut]Ellise leans over and whispers to Maryn.
* Oki tilts her head a little, allowing the spike to whistle past.
<[Rut]Ellise> In the meanwhile, guard our 'sight', will you~?
<Tenrei> "You're really starting to annoy me."
<[Mode]Sara> We tend to do that.
<[Rut]Ellise> If I had a nickle for every time someone said that... well, then I'd be even more drunk. Ironic~
<Oki> 5And you've been disappointing me since before I ever heard your name. As expected of a low-ranking little fiendling~
* Oki sneers into the darkness.
<Maryn> Yeah, I'm on it Ellise.
* Jung doesn't have anything else to do, so she put a nurse cap on for a little more protection just in case.
<Oki> 5Come, you horrible excuse for a demon. End this sham already.
<Tenrei> It slowly melts, withdrawing into the darkness...
<Oki> 5Do you really know how to use that spike properly? Don't be ashamed if you don't. It's perfectly normal amongst diabolic laughingstocks like you~

* Oki is giggling in a rather dirty way.
<Maryn> About damn time..
<Maryn> She was wearing on my nerves.
<[Rut]Ellise> Oh, Maryn~ I'd thought the warrior, of all people, would understand~
<Jung> Hope i'm not in the line of fire!
<Oki> 5Mmm... I'll bet you're just aching to take that spike.. and plunge it into me again... and again... and again...
* Jung is still prone.
<Maryn> Understand what Ellise?

* [Rut]Ellise smiles at Oki a bit. She'd not expected provocation tactics from a scholar.
* Oki laughs mockingly and richly.
* [Rut]Ellise 's summon has fully formed, and its main eyeball opens wide.
<Maryn> Is she ready yet Ellise?
<[Rut]Ellise> Wait...
* Oki casts a look back at the others. Maybe something interesting's happening over here?
* Oki It sounds like it is. Oh hey, BEHOLDER.
<Tenrei> "I'm just a bit rusty is all."
<Tenrei> "A thousand years will do that to ya."
* Oki ...Were Oki not as she is right now, she'd likely have screamed a girly little scream.
* [Rut]Ellise clenches her eyes shut for a moment before they shoot open again, irises bleached and pupils dialated. She slowly, silently sweeps the room, as does her eye. They both lock on the same point, towards the back of the room.
<Tenrei> A spike strikes Sara's magically-imbued armor and stops.
* Oki Tevonia, '36. Went looking for a dark priest's blood-soaked robes. Found a beholder nest. Thank all the gods for crappy, decrepit stonework in large temples of ancient evil.
<[Rut]Ellise> There. In the back.
* Minase spots the spike
<Tenrei> "Oops. Found."
* [Rut]Ellise points straight at him.
<Minase> Grab the spike!
* Minase points at the spike
* Oki looks towards the direction indicated. Then towards the spike.
* Maryn takes it immediately, with blinding speed.
<Maryn> Got ya~
<Minase> Smash it!
<Tenrei> You can feel it beginning to melt awat...
<Maryn> Sara! Take over I'm going to get me some demon!
<Maryn> Keep this lovely eyeball alive!
<[Mode]Sara> Sure thing.
<Maryn> ...oh and break this spike thing on you too.
<Maryn> That wouldn't be pleasant.
<Tenrei> The spike melted away while yo were talking.
<Jung> It melted already.
<Tenrei> Thank you.
<Jung> I wish I can keep it for further study, though.
* Oki sighs.
* Maryn makes a break torwards where Ellise said.
<Maryn> Whoever wants a piece of the demon!~
* Oki is right alongside her.
<[Rut]Ellise> Careful~ Remember, he'll still be hard to touch~
<Oki> 5Already there, Walküre.
* Maryn grins.
<Maryn> Hope you'll do as well as you speak
* Minase is faltering as her fire is steadily fading
<Tenrei> "You're starting to bore me. Be more lively. This is the first chance I've had to kill in a while!"
<[Rut]Ellise> Minase! Relax a bit~?
<Jung> I won't let you, though!
<[Mode]Sara> You talk a big game for a coward that hides in the darkness.
* [Rut]Ellise expresses 'concern'. Or, at least, her closest equivalent.
<Minase> If I let this fire go out, we all die!
<Oki> 5That chance hasn't been granted to you yet, piglet~
<Tenrei> "Hides in the darkness? I am the darkness."
* Minase winces as she contemplates her next move
<[Mode]Sara> The darkness is darkness. You're just impotent.
<Tenrei> Another spike! This time at Ellise!
<Maryn> Damn.. I would hate to be impotent as a guy...
* Maryn laughs as she continues charging with Oki.
<Oki> 5Save it for the playwrights, tree-shade.
* [Rut]Ellise has advance notice; she can see it approach. Her posture sways, slipping just out of the  thing's reach.
<[Rut]Ellise> Whoopsie~ Ahaha.
<Tenrei> The forward pair reaches Grim Shadow Walking
<Tenrei> "Oh, so you finally showed up?"
<Maryn> Hiii~
* Maryn waves.
<Jung> You guys are too carefree, sometimes.
* Jung notes.
<Oki> 5Of course. You were such a disappointment that we were left no choice~
<Tenrei> The spike melts into the shadows
<Tenrei> "Oh, I'm so sorry. I'll make sure to properly entertain you this time around."
<Oki> 5Oooh~ You mean you think you'll be able to plunge that hard, thick thing inside of me at last?
<Jung> Maaaaaan, I wish I can RECORD all this dirty speak she's been saying. That's gotta be hilarious later on.
<Tenrei> "Oh, that's just a toy. I'll have you know the real thing is much more satisfying."
<[Rut]Ellise> You should invent a recording machine, then~
<Tenrei> A spike whips out at Minase!
<Jung> Noted. I will do that next time.
<Oki> 5Walküre, throw me at him.
* Oki says this all of a sudden, turning to the woman beside her/
<Maryn> I have a name.
* Maryn picks and tosses Oki by one hand torward the demon!
* Minase puts her sword down in front of her, then focuses upon the spike, channeling a flaming strike to meet it in midair!
* Minase deflects the spike towards Sara!
* [Mode]Sara steps up, raising her scythe overhead, and brings it down onto the spike with the back end leading.
* Oki prepares to be launched...!
* Maryn sends Oki flying torwards at the demon!
* Oki ...Or would have, if Oki had not flicked out one long, clawed foot, digging it deeply into the ground. Using this as a focal point or a fulcrum or whatever the hell, she transfers the tremendous inertial force down and around as she latches onto Maryn, and sends HER hurtling towards the beast instead.
<Maryn> ....
<Maryn> oh HELL NO YOU LITTLE..
* Maryn hangs on Oki tightly and takes her along for the ride.
<Tenrei> The spike shatters at the same time that Maryn is used as a heavy projectile against Grim.
<Tenrei> "Wha-gah!"
<Tenrei> He's knocked over into a heap.
<Tenrei> "Ahaha, really? Seriously?" He laughs under the pair of bodies.
* Minase lowers her sword, then turns towards the commotion
* Minase 's eyes widen and scowls as she screams an important reminder to the idiots
<Minase> GET AWAY FROM HIM BEFORE HE STARTS USING ENERGY DRAIN
* [Rut]Ellise gawks...
<[Rut]Ellise> ... Hahahahahahahahaha!!~
* [Rut]Ellise has to hold her sides, buckling over somewhat.
* Jung get her megapotion out, ready to toss. She got a feeling that she will have to use it very soon.
<Tenrei> "Right? See? The weird girl over there gets it."
<Tenrei> He tries to climb out from under you.
* Jung pull the safety pin.
<[Rut]Ellise> I-I guess -- Haha -- I guess this is more *action* than he's seen in centuries! Ahahaha!~
<Oki> 5I don't think so, you sickening heap of ineptitude.
<Oki> 5Walküre, kindly aid me in ending this wretched excuse for a demon~?
* Oki 's tone is almost sweet. Unpleasantly so.
<Maryn> I got em!
* Maryn holds the demon Down!...whoa.. she's holding the demon down.
* [Rut]Ellise is tearing up. Due to the psionic link, so is the beholder.
<Jung> You okay, firefox?
* Jung still got a live megapotion ready to toss.
<Tenrei> Oh my, you got me.
* Oki draws back her hands, which seem larger, more jagged, and much, much more deadly... and plunges them into the demon's body, thrusting her claws deeply into him.
<Oki> 4MMMMMmmmmmm~!
<Tenrei> "Guh-"
<Tenrei> The swords pierce him. At the same time, a vicious roundhouse kick from the side knocks Maryn for a loop.
* Oki laughs, almost breathlessly. It's the voice of a woman who's clearly enjoying herself.
<Oki> 4Ooooooh, you like it when I do that to you, big boy~?
<Maryn> AHHH~
<Maryn> That hurts~
* Maryn winces, she's taking a heavy blow there... I think I heard a rib or two crack
* Jung run over, and stop Maryn in place.
<Jung> hold hold hold hold. Stay still or else it's gonna get worse.
<[Rut]Ellise> Heee~y! Don't go out too far!
<Maryn> Get your ass out of here soon Jungko..
<Jung> Wilco.
* Jung is not the derpy-go-lucky scientist this time. She's now a 'doctor'.
<Tenrei> "Not so fast, girlie."
<Tenrei> Out from the darkness steps Grim Shadow Walking.
<Tenrei> Note that Maryn is still holding onto Grim SHadow Walking.
<Jung> Haemostatic powder. Stop internal bleeding. Painkillers. Nullifying pain temporarily. Pentazimin. Amoxyl. Stops infection.
<Maryn> Whoa.. Deja Vu.. I think I was riding your minion earlier..
<Maryn> ...wish he could of held out longer though.
* Jung mumble her procedure and pour stuff in.
<Jung> ]me throws two orange capsule into Maryn's mouth.
* Maryn hacks and thanks Jungko.
<Jung> And two vitamin-c for a good girl. Now go kick some arse!
* Jung slaps maryn's back. The pain is not there, but the injury stays. Not much a medic can do except dealing with it temporarily.
<Tenrei> Shadow leaps to attack Jung-ko!
* Jung knows she's in for some hurt---!
* Minase rushes to Jung-ko's aid!
* [Rut]Ellise throws her hand out at the last moment, tentacles sprouting from the cauldron and following it's trajectory. They shoot like bullets and snap around the shadow, holding it back.
<[Rut]Ellise> Phew~ I told you not to go out too far!~
<[Rut]Ellise> No one listens to me, boo hoo~
* Oki doesn't really bother looking around. She's enjoying herself far, far too much at the moment. Her laughs come in short, spastic little giggles as she seems to be almost hugging the demon from behind... only her claws are buried deep in the demon's flesh, plunging in up to the elbow as gore spatters her body and limbs.
<Oki> 4Yes, yes, yeeees~ You love it, don't you? So deliciously hot~
<Maryn> Now now Oki...
<Maryn> you can have sex with the demon later ok?
<Oki> 4WHAT DID I TELL YOU ABOUT THAT PRETTY MOUTH OF YOURS, WALKÜRE?
* Oki is too happy to be all that angry with Maryn.
<Maryn> It should be shoved up where the sun don't shine.
<Jung> Nice save.
* Jung whews.
* Minase points her sword at the second demon and capitalizes on its immobility to unleash a column of flame that extends from the sword's tip and smashes into the demon
<Oki> 4NOT QUITE, BUT YOU CAN DO THAT WITH IT TOO~
<Tenrei> "Haha, trying to hold an archdemon with a minor demon? That's too funny!"
<Maryn> You bet I will!
* Maryn reinforces her strength on the original.
<Tenrei> He flexes, and tears the tentacles striaght out of the cauldron. Heartless Embrace roars in pain.
<[Rut]Ellise> Don't be mean, he's trying really hard!~
<Tenrei> "Don't be smart with me, girl."
* Oki is still holding onto the demon. She's stopped simply plunging her clawed hands in, and has now started to rip chunks of flesh out of the demon's body, exposing bone and torn muscle. Dark blood, or perhaps ichor, goes flying about, soaking her redness-covered form in this otherworldly creature's vital fluids. Her laughing comes almost non-stop now as she continues her vicious work.
<[Rut]Ellise> Hmm. One more psycho couldn't hurt~ Hey, Maryn! Heads up.
<Maryn> ...oh god...n-no.. Ellise..!
* [Rut]Ellise recites her profane incantation, and a cackling mad wisp of smoke streams out of her cauldron. It wraps around Maryn's weapon before slipping down her throat and nostrils.
<Jung> Uh... I really not recommend taking any kind of medicine without doctor's prescription...
* Jung sweatdrops.
<Maryn> 4 HGNNN
<Tenrei> Maryn: it feels goooooooooood.
<Maryn> 4AHAHHAHA....
<[Rut]Ellise> Have fun~!
