Was testing a rapid evolution serum (R.E.S.) on various animals that could be readily tested upon. One of these animals was what mankind brought to the stars, the common sewer rat. Rattus Norvegicus, more commonly known amongst the various Human biologists. Although.. it stops there, when these rats were proven to be successful test subjects for the serum, in a little over of half a year each generation that appeared to become more humanoid. Until one day, when they had the perfect prototype. A brood mother, intelligent and cunning. In the annals of the Rattosk, she is revered as the Matriarch. The goddess that gave life to the Rattosk and broke a future of servitude. Because one day, she escaped from her holding cell and managed to release a toxin killing all people besides the Matriarch. From there, the first litter was born and soon the whole planet where they were was crawling with Rattosk.


Capable of learning quickly from the technology left behind, they used the connection of the satellite uplink to learn more and eventually after a few generations Rattosk Prime was established. When FTL travel was made possible, they managed to create a thriving republic where worship of the Matriarch was central. Some other deities were founded too in order to form a balanced pantheon, except they all found their origin in Rattosk history.


The Rattosk Republic to this day remains a partially cut-off part of space since it is situated on the far fringes of known space. Most encounters they have experienced have been with unsavoury types so they formed a strong protective barrier. Making them rather seclusionist to outsiders but have welcomed other species who'd like to build diplomatic relationships with the small but sturdy republic.



General Anatomy [HR][/HR]

Rattosk are two legged plantigrade humanoids with a furless tail to help them move around just as regular brown rats for balance and agile speed, also a insulating coat of fur to keep their core temperature stable. Even in colder and hotter environs. Their internal anatomy doesn't differentiate much from Humans. They did not keep the weaknesses since their contact with R.E.S., average lifespan increased to 120 years. Eyes developed further to perceive all natural colours on the spectrum and some measure of UV light visibility was retained.


Their average height is around 7'~, with extremes documented of 7'5".



Natural Abilities [HR][/HR]

- Increased speed, strength and agility compared to Humans. Rivalling that of Florans.



- Coat of insulating fur on most of their body. Exposed skin is thicker to help against most weather types. (Think cold, hot, wet environs.)
