[19:56:44] <Reinhard> AND SO IT BEGINS! As soon as the sun hits 'evening', the very same day as...well, as pretty much everything else happened, he's outside her room nervously adjusting pretty much everything about everything. No Pokemon around, or at least not OUT. After about a minute of psyching himself up and straightening out the suit that he hasn't even worn since the league that one day--of course he took the cape off--, he reeeeaches a hand out and

[20:00:20] <Camellia> The door opens almost immediately. Seems that Camellia had been waiting right by the door for at least a while. She peeks her head out looking every bit as nervous as Reinhard. She's dressed in a flowing green-ish blue strapless dress, with a light leaf pattern along the bottom edges. Her hair falls mostly over one shoulder, a brighter green ribbon tying it a few inches from the end. "...Hi."

[20:02:03] <Camellia> "I believe so...yes." A small nod. She has the good sense to keep her pokemon in their pokeballs now too, especially Oolong.
[20:04:15] * Reinhard almost hits himself when he realizes something and immediately scrambles for the flower he had gotten earlier in his pocket, awkwardly half-handing it over, unsure whether to try to stick it in her hair or just throw it or something. "Ah, y-yes. For you. Well, that is of COURSE it is but that's what you say."

[20:06:36] : Camellia takes it and tries to hide her sudden realization of her confusion. What DO you do with a flower now? Just hold onto it? "T-thanks. It's um, it's very pretty." She settles on trying to stick it in her hair, just above the ribbon. It doesn't look quite right.

[20:10:03] <Camellia> Oh right. Holding hands. People do that don't they? Camellia slowly takes Reinhard's hand. "Well, lead the way then." She smiles.

[20:15:01] <Reinhard> "Is there anything else you wanted to get done? I mean, if there IS I'd wait of course."
[20:15:48] : Camellia shakes her head. "No, I...guess it just slipped my mind that we were going so soon. I mean, I know other Wanderers are making similar plans to leave for this village, right? Everyone wants to get away from the chaos of this city."
[20:17:25] <Reinhard> "Are they? I'm afraid I don't actually hear as much about other people... or, guess I just have to try and listen more. Where did you decide on us going anyway, anyone going out that way?" And of course this whole thing is continued as they get in and get seated, and wait on waiters waiting.
[20:19:22] <Camellia> "I thought that was the general sentiment after our last mission, to get away. There's a peaceful village out west I thought we had talked about...maybe not? I talked to Sophia about it earlier today. You know, she helped me pick out this dress because I didn't have anything to wear and..." Camellia is obviously still a bit scatterbrained right now and takes a moment to center herself.
[20:20:05] <Camellia> "...Sorry. The idea is that we can head to this village, and there might be some other Wanderers heading out there as well. We all need a break."
[20:20:10] <Reinhard> "Oh, so someone IS going directly with us? Hm. I... that's probably better, isn't it? Did you tell her about the whole of everything we were going to do?"
[20:22:10] <Camellia> "...Actually, I wasn't aware of when we were going to leave, and um..." She starts rushing her words a bit. "I kinda thought you wanted to travel just the two of us for a bit so I told her to just meet us at the village sometime in the near future."

I'll admit that did cross my mind, but at the same time stopping you from bringing someone along... I mean last time we went all around like this it was with other people anyway, so no real problem... but thank you in any case."

[20:29:42] <Camellia> "I honestly hadn't thought that far. When I travel, it's either by train or I find it fulfilling enough to just wander the wilderness along the way to my destination. I've grown accustomed to living on the move." Camellia idly shakes her glass, now full of ice since she'd nervously drained it of all the water.

[20:32:29] * Cole bows slightly to them as he picks up the glass.  "I'll refill that for you.  Let me know when you're ready to order.  And don't even start on why I am here."  He goes back to refill the young lady's glass, certainly not slow in doing so.  Psychic powers tended to be good for a waiter.

[20:35:26] <Reinhard> "Oh, that I suppose... but really, I meant more... tell me about you. What's your family like, what do you generally do to relax... Most I've heard about all of that is quite a lot of talk on tea."
[20:38:18] * Cole returns the table with the new glass of water, pulling out a notepad in order to take some orders!  "So are you ready to order yet?"  He was told to try not using his psychic powers too much; wouldn't wanna be creepy or anything like that.  Besides, these were friends, sort of.  He wanted to be nice.  Or...try to be nice.  God, it was hard to be social and not dig into people's brains.
[20:38:31] : Camellia smiles. "The tea is a family thing, and just like you have your dragons, Assam is from a long line of Torterra the family grows for tea. Just...care for plants in general. My brother's an apothecary, so we spent a lot of time as kids just in the forest or among the berry bushes."
[20:40:22] : Camellia has not taken a look at the menu yet, with the whole 'eating' part of dinner completely slipping her mind in her nervousness. Not wanting to seem absentminded though, she flips it open and picks a fish dish almost at random and just kinda gestures at it on the menu. "...that one. I mean um, may I have the flame broiled finneon, please?"
[20:41:35] * Reinhard snaps back from listening when WAITER. "Ah? Well... hm. You know, I always get steak, everywhere, but... no pokemon around so quite frankly I am okay with a torchic salad today." And then back to Camellia! "You did? Never ceases to surprise me how much we actually have in common here. Your brother... I guess you haven't wrote or called him or anything about this whole thing yet, hm."
[20:42:51] * Cole raises an eyebrow; it didn't take a psychic to figure out that she was just coming up with it on the fly.  But, he figured it was for the best, writing the order, resisting the urge to telepathically expedite as well.  Dammit, if not for his decision to try behaving like a normal person while working here...
[20:43:58] <Reinhard> "I suppose it figures how much tea really factors in there. Back at that tea shop, I noticed most of your pokemon had those names."
[20:44:02] <Camellia> "Well, I did in between training at the Ecruteak gym." She pauses as something hits her and she laughs a little. "I guess we do, and if things had turned out a bit differently at home, I might have sought out the same path to the pokemon league you did. But, I had focused on...more of the supernatural arts, and those were easiest to study on the move too."

[20:48:40] : Camellia has tried to discreetly flip her left hand, hiding her palm, as this topic of conversation came up. The scar tissue is much more noticeable up close after all.
[20:49:02] <Reinhard> "It's--it's alright, though, whatever you need to do, I mean you're in the line of danger anyway..."
[20:50:38] <Camellia> "I was meant to work at the towers eventually, and I apparently had a knack for the skill. The basic theory behind it is that to emulate the abilities of ghost pokemon without natural psionic talent, it is necessary to bring oneself closer to death, and the shedding of blood accomplishes that in a symbolic manner." The quick lesson is recited as if it had been repeated many times.

[20:52:08] * Cole appeared to be running around like a Torchic with its head cut off, having to use psychic powers at certain points to keep up.  Even with that, though, he still got the food to the couple in lovely timing.  "Enjoy, guys."  He continued about his way after bringing the food, both to not bother the duo, and because he was SO BUSY.
[20:53:11] * Reinhard can't help but stare just a little while he thinks that over. "It... does make sense, I suppose, though even we have never really done much like that with dragons--" a nod to Cole, "--at least as a tradition anyway, but what's all this about towers? The last time I really traveled was a long time ago, and I imagine your home must have such a history..."
[20:55:09] <Camellia> "Thank you." Camellia nods to Cole as well before returning to face Reinhard. "Two towers that once held legendary pokemon, or so the stories go. A blue bird that ruled the teas and a rainbow-winged bird that symbolized rebirth. They both left when one of the towers burned to the ground, but the priests of Ecruteak maintain the old traditions there anyhow."

[20:58:53] <Camellia> "In a strange way, it relieves a lot of the pressure to know that under current circumstances, I can't really return. Whereas, I suppose you could return at any time to be tested, correct?"
[20:59:56] <Reinhard> "I could, sure, but at the same time it's very hard to tell just when I'm ready for it. There's still such a long way to go, I've been considering attempting to simply make it my eighth badge. And of course, they may have a mind to test YOU if we let anything on..."
[21:00:41] <Camellia> "Uhm..." Camellia had not considered this as a possibility. "What? Is that really how your family does things?"
[21:01:03] <Camellia> "I mean, it's not bad, it's just...I didn't expect..."
[21:01:12] <Reinhard> "Ha, only in a sense."
[21:01:59] <Reinhard> "I mean, if we stay there for any notable period of time I'll likely have to help out with the ranching, and it'd be easy enough for you to just step in and help too, that's probably all they'd need to see."
[21:03:05] <Reinhard> "...Probably. In any case, if I make my case well enough, just the fact that I've decided is enough. Never dated before, but I DID have an arranged marriage meeting at one point far earlier... I objected to the concept of course, they gave me enough time to decide and I gave a rather firm no, but if I hadn't ended up with anyone, I do wonder..."
[21:04:43] * Reinhard shakes his head after getting all that out. "I'm sorry, you probably didn't even need to hear all that."
[21:04:47] <Camellia> "I imagine dragon ranching is quite different from what I'm used to doing with ghosts." Camellia bites into her fish as she continues to listen and chokes a little at 'arranged marriage' as she stifles a laugh. "Oh wow, my family's quite traditional as well, but arranged marriage hasn't been a part of how we do things for generations."
[21:06:19] : Camellia shakes her head. "Is that really so bad after I invited you to the library with no warning that I was about to drag you into a story of malicious spirits and legendary pokemon roaming the region?"
[21:06:22] <Reinhard> "Mmm. Mother... Our current fortunes, nearly all of the prestige with our name and us having taken as big a spot as we used to have after a very long slump is, quite frankly, mostly due to her. The downside to that is that a return to form is also a return to tradition in many ways, but I can't say I haven't learned."
[21:06:41] <Reinhard> "Oh, that? Ha. No, not at all, though I imagine you could've chosen worse people to spring it on."

[21:07:02] <Reinhard> "That sort of thing was a usual bedtime story for the three of us, really."
[21:09:39] <Camellia> "That makes some sort of sense. My family has never had aspirations of bringing their tea outside the immediate area before. No marketing campaigns, no attempt at mass manufacture, none of that, so I've never worried about keeping up a brand name so to say." Camellia sighs. "My place at the towers though...I may be neglecting that more than I should, now that I think of it."
[21:10:51] <Reinhard> "It's a question more to dwell on than to decide on immediately, I suppose."
[21:13:11] <Camellia> "Of course. I...shouldn't be dumping all of my trite stories on you. Let's figure out these travel plans. Do you want to set out on foot or just take the train system?"
[21:13:32] <Reinhard> "Trains going most of the way is probably easier."
[21:13:53] <Camellia> "And we might as well take advantage of our perks if we're going to get so many calls."
[21:15:40] <Reinhard> "Of course. You know though, taking trains everywhere always feels to me like I have to work harder, you know. At some point down the line we won't even need those, though likely just for the neighboring cities... If Evangeline can live up to her name and line, she could just take us everywhere."
[21:17:06] <Camellia> "That'd be rather lot more fun than taking a train too, wouldn't it? Flying on the back of a dragon."
[21:17:28] <Reinhard> "Oh, it's wonderful if you never have before."

[21:18:52] <Camellia> "I can only imagine. Back in Johto, all the dragon trainers gathered in one spot, a city called Blackthorn, so they were even more uncommon to see."
[21:19:55] <Reinhard> "REALLY now? I suppose we might need to visit sooner than I had thought I would have to. What about that, then, is there any sort of... approval process? Do you think they'd approve of me?"
[21:21:20] <Camellia> "Well..." Camellia ponders Reinhard's first question first, hesistance crossing her face. "I suppose there's the whole notion that, with training, one can act as a conduit for the legendary pokemon that bless Ecruteak, and I had an experience the elders insist was much like that, but I'm frankly uncertain now that the rest of my life has happened. As for Blackthorn..."
[21:22:14] * Cole would check on occasion to see if Reinhard and Camellia were done with their foodstuffs, but otherwise kept out of the two's hair.  After all, they weren't there to see him, they were there to see each other.  He was a bit surprised they were together by themselves, though.
[21:22:15] : Camellia thinks a few more seconds, then shakes her head. "Sorry, I don't really remember much. The gym leader trained dragons, and she had some sort of test to be taken in a cave behind the gym. Those not seeking out such a challenge don't generally learn much about it." She shrugs.
[21:23:12] <Camellia> Cole probably notices that again, Camellia is having a hard time remembering the 'eating' part of this whole thing. She's only managed to finish about half her plate by this point.
[21:25:03] * Cole didn't really seem to mind the forgetfulness of eating; he's seen it before, by now.
[21:25:39] * Reinhard has never stopped being himself, having eaten pretty quick and efficiently, though taking painstaking care to not spill anything. In any case, he just smiles and reaches a hand out for hers. "Don't worry too much. We can figure things out as they come."
[21:27:50] : Camellia reaches out a hand as well, figuring this was the thing to do. The one that doesn't regularly get cut up. "I suppose that is for the best. Let circumstance bring what it may, and make of it what you can." She smiles back.
[21:29:19] <Reinhard> "Doesn't... exactly hurt to plan, you know, but this is too wonderful of a night to be ruined by something as hard as thinking about the future! Maybe on our way."
[21:29:38] * Cole was about to go get Reinhard's plate, but stopped himself, seeing that there was a moment going on; it didn't take a psychic to realize.  He'd just wait a minute.
[21:30:55] <Camellia> "Indeed. We've spent enough time today at the library occupying ourselves with the serious matters, so we've earned the right to just enjoy ourselves now."
[21:32:48] <Reinhard> "And speaking of, is there anything else you'd like to do while we're still out? We have the whole night, though I imagine we want to have some sleep. I chose the meal, so you have the right to choose the... activity? Hm."

[21:37:18] <Reinhard> "Ahaha, if you like! Stargazing... do you have a spot, though? A spot for either, really?

[21:39:26] <Camellia> "Several good spots actually..." Camellia pulls up her phone or her Wandererdex if it doubles as such and pulls up a map. She actually has a few points on the equivalent of Google Maps bookmarked.
[21:40:19] <Camellia> "I um, actually don't really know where the karaoke places are and..." Well, she can't admit she only said it to try not to sound boring. "But I've wanted to scope out the city for fun places like that for a while and maybe we can just look one up?"
[21:41:26] * Cole speaks up, seeing a chance to collect up Reinhard's plate, and Camellia's if she had finished it.
[21:42:02] <Reinhard> "Hmm. HMMM. Maybe... I'm not so sure on my singing voice really, I think--ah, thank you--that it might be something best tried maybe next time we're around, possibly with others. I mean just the two of us isn't all that much..."
[21:42:43] <Camellia> At some point this evening Camellia remembered to eat! And so her plate is now rather neatly cleaned. Must've gotten lucky picking the dish.
[21:43:57] : Camellia nods sagely, secretly relieved to be able to take the other option. "So, stargazing? Unless you had some other idea. I mean, I usually try to match up my traveling to the various festivals and events around Altho, but I hadn't bothered since new year's this year..."
[21:44:41] <Reinhard> "No, I don't particularly have anything. Do you have a blanket or something? It'd be a shame to ruin your dress."
[21:44:57] <Reinhard> "Or maybe there isn't grass wherever you're choosing, how silly of me."
[21:46:06] * Cole gets Camellia's plate, too, then!  He was just gonna take those to the back to wash, leaving the bill there for them, and a note apologizing for actually charging them.
[21:46:06] <Camellia> "I usually lay out some cloth on Assam's back, near his tree."
[21:47:26] <Reinhard> "Clever. I guess there's the upside to having the variety that you do."
[21:49:06] <Camellia> "Variety?" Camellia's gaze falls to her bag where her pokeballs are kept, then back up. "...I hadn't really thought about that. I guess I got a bit sick of the ghosts after all the hauntings. I only have 3 here."
[21:49:27] <Reinhard> "Well, even among ghosts, you have different sorts, no?"
[21:51:06] <Camellia> "I guess Astrid is the oddball. Chammy and Oolong have been with me so long I hardly notice. There are so many others though. Golems like Golurk, dolls like Banette..."
[21:51:36] <Reinhard> "Exactly. Dragons, or at least natural ones, simply tend to be... dragons."
[21:52:58] <Camellia> "...Isn't there one that's like a puffball bird?"
[21:54:15] <Reinhard> "I'm not sure anyone knows exactly why Altaria is a dragon, but it is. Surprisingly they get along much better than you'd think, all considered. Well, as good as they get. The first rule of dragon ranching, you see, is that dragons hate each other."
[21:54:51] <Reinhard> "Can't keep them separate enough while still technically wild, or they start squabbling and snapping at each other over everything."
[21:55:16] <Reinhard> "In many cases, in fact, other dragons will be their preferred prey."
[21:55:57] : Camellia nods. "Sounds...dangerous. You can't keep ghosts together, but for an altogether different reason. They'll band together and plan and perform practical jokes until you're miserable."
[21:56:05] <Camellia> "But at least it's mostly harmless."
[21:57:02] <Reinhard> "Sounds like something to see, at least... In any case, the bill seems to have been taken care of! Are you about ready to go?"
[21:57:26] * Reinhard slips a tip for the poor bastard stuck waiting instead of adventuring under his napkin when he takes it off.
[21:58:24] <Camellia> "I'm ready. Let's go." Camellia gives a parting nod to Cole as she gets up. Inside she's a bit envious, having not recalled seeing him at any calls recently and realizing he's probably had a hell of a more peaceful month than her.
[21:58:53] * Reinhard gets a little closer than he was when they first went in. "You lead the way if you've decided."
[22:02:07] : Camellia shifts slightly closer as well. The rule of the night for her seems to be to mirror whatever Reinhard's doing since she has no idea how etiquette goes on these things. "Then, well, I usually head out of the city, but there's actually a section of town here where you can get on the roof of a building with a nice view. They're doing construction on it, and workers keep the doors propped."
[22:03:04] <Reinhard> "And light pollution isn't an issue? Though I imagine some of the street lights may be cleared off some..."
[22:03:44] * Cole collects the tip with a surprise, and making sure the whole thing was taken care of, Deius the whole time in the back cleaning dishes...
[22:05:29] <Camellia> "It's as good as it'll get. The immediate outskirts don't get much better than the edges of the city. It'd take some traveling to get far enough out for it to make a difference. If you have time though..."
[22:08:26] <Reinhard> "Hrm. Do WE have time seems to be the question. How early or late would you mind getting up tomorrow?"
[22:10:07] <Camellia> "Early enough to have some tea before lunch. Without getting a call, my daily routine is pretty flexible actually."
[22:11:50] <Reinhard> "I'm looking forward to see what you usually do then, I admit that I don't really... get out much, guess you could put it as."
[22:13:24] <Camellia> "Just about everything in this city there is to do costs money. There are the occasional art festivals, free museum events, that kind of thing, but...they're a bit boring alone."
[22:13:56] <Reinhard> "Mhm. Well, next time we're here!"
[22:16:57] <Camellia> "Of course, of course, though there's a lot to see in the other cities of the region too, which is why I like to keep on the move so mu- ah here we go." Camellia leads Reinhard up to a side door of a building. It's clear on the inside that some painting and remodeling is being done, and the door seems like it should be closed and locked but is instead propped open by a paint can.
[22:17:03] <Camellia> "Or we can continue on to the outside of the city?"
[22:17:15] <Reinhard> "Hmm..."
[22:17:36] <Reinhard> "I don't know, the decision here's pretty hard. If you like this spot, though, it'll do!"

[22:19:21] : Camellia nods. "Watch for wet paint though." and she guides Reinhard through the building, up some stairs, down some hallways, before reaching a ladder leading up to presumably the roof. She steps aside to allow him to climb up first.
[22:22:14] * Reinhard goes straight up and looks down, holding out a hand for when she's up.
[22:23:54] : Camellia smiles as she takes his hand climbing up, and, once up on the roof, releases Assam. The Torterra looks around for a second and quickly settles into a spot near some skylights, seeming to have developed a liking for the particular position over time.
[22:24:30] * Reinhard sweeps her right up as soon as she's up and damn near carries her there, staring up.
[22:25:49] : Camellia smlies, looking quite amused at this whole situation. "I see the tradition and old ways of your family have certainly rubbed off."

[22:27:23] : Camellia blushes a bit and nods. Once up on Assam, she unfolds a worn cloth from her bag and lays it out in front of the tree.
[22:30:48] * Reinhard plops down and gets as comfortable as you can on a covered turtle shell. "Well... I guess you were right. Best view you can get in the city."
[22:32:18] : Camellia nods slowly, seeming unsure about something for a moment. Then she slowly rests her head on Reinhard's shoulder. "Enjoy it while you can. I'm sure they'll finish up remodeling someday, and well, Oolong has offered to phase through and undo the lock for me, but I'd feel worse about that than just walking through the open door."

[22:36:38] <Camellia> "And more than enough nights to enjoy the sky. I...really am feeling good things about this trip, taking the pace of things into our own hands, being on the road again..."

[22:37:23] <Reinhard> "Let's try to keep this feeling then, no matter what happens. I imagine there might be hard patches, considering what we intend to do, but nothing we can't handle eventually."
[22:40:39] <Camellia> "We'll just have to be like water, flow towards our goals and not strain ourselves forcing it." Camellia has a hell of a hard time recalling her semi-Taoist teachings from her childhood and an even worse time actually following them. But she felt that appropriate for the moment.
