Hey guys, as of today I will be joining Dungeon Realms as a Developer.  To pretty much all of you, me returning to DR after my previous falling out and extended period working on Practice Servers will come as a surprise.  Id like to take this opportunity to address and hopefully ease a few of the concerns that I know are shared by many in the community.  My goal in joining and eventually owning practice servers was always to eventually return and work for DR with the skills I had acquired during that time.  I am joining under very strict conditions, where I will be closely monitored and will not have any permissions in game for the foreseeable future, as I have no need for them.  For those who think I have some sort of anterior motive for joining DR, there is no concrete way for me to prove to you that my intentions are pure, so I will give my best shot to explain my motives for joining and why now.
Several days ago, I obtained a copy of the v1.0 source code, and while looking through it both in game and in the code, I realized how far ahead of any other previous version of DR this current version is.  My first instinct as a practice server owner was to use it, but when I joined the discord and talked to Kneesnap, I realized that he was at least open to the possibility of us working together.
As for my motives, I feel that working on practice servers now is no longer helping me improve as a developer, as well as causing me to pick up bad habits.  While it is no secret that I am giving up a sizeable income to join, money has not been the object for me for a long time.  I was way too addicted to this game back in 2015-6 as I began my college years and making this game about money was the best way to get me to focus on that rather than playing it.  Now it is not nearly as much of a concern, as I chose not to extort money out of players with crate sales and am selling my server for a fraction of what it is worth (around what it makes in 1 month).
I am not here to impose my will on DR, do my own thing, or cause some huge drama or havoc within the community, I am here to improve myself as a developer working along someone who I believe I can learn from, as well as help push DR forward and get things done.  Hopefully those of you who still hold grudges against me, I hope hearing this will at the very least convince you to give me a chance as a developer for Dungeon Realms before jumping to conclusions, as I will be spending many many hours working toward the game you all want to see grow.
