  34. Commentary : The Gunners have been one of the youngest, consistent and promising sides in COCANEFA for a last while, and have won 2 LigAnaia Nord titles to prove their excellence. And now, back in Q-League, this may be a perfect time for them to win...once again. Arsenal is a team that may not have the explosiveness of their recent rivals Koreana and CSKA, but they are strong and stacked in all positions and won't be dropping in form. To start they have the LAN's Golden Boot for last 2 seasons in Schottian wonder woman Corinne Martel-Burns (18), who will most likely burn the league alive with her goals and celebrations, an excellent, oft-underrated attacking midfielder in Joo Weon Park (20) and core midfielders Rudy Valencia and Mandela. Their defence is still young, but is a very well-organised squad led by 20-year old Eugene McNair (the long-touted successor to Karl Varsteeg, also) that should easily slide 18-year old Emmanuel Fosu-Mensah into the fold. Neville McKinley will be rarely tested, but if he does, he will respond with a consistency. That said, the team's strengths in all fronts should make St. John's Arsenal a challenger to Montreal Koreana, though it remains to be seen on whether they can overcome the lack of offensive options aside from declining Curtis Quinn and young CMB. If they win the title, great on them. But don't be surprised if they come out empty-handed mostly because of how good this Montreal squad they'll be competing against.

Commentary : Montreal Koreana, after 3 disappointing seasons that should not be mentioned to any of their fans, finally look as if they're one of the most, if not the most explosive teams in Q-League this year. Longtime legend (both as player and manager) Sook Jin Yi returning to the sidelines, the Koreana has a squad that's expected to be stronger and dominate this year; 10 of the starters will be back, with the goalkeeping being the only exception in addition of Evan Katsouranis. Katsouranis, the current starting GK for Brenecia, is expected to be a starter but also as mentor to the 19-year old Ricardo Costa, the hyper-talented Guayabalense who looks to be their starting goalkeeper for a long time. Speaking of preventing a goal, Koreana defence finally looks to have completed the transition in the shape of youths Yang Joon Seok (20) and Georges-Kévin Porsan-Thauvin (23) joining the steel-nerved veterans Aaron Bowen and Andrew Hyun. Midfields are solid and stacked in depth, though it remains to be seen on how Julie Bishop will match up with stalwart Aaron Shin. Since the departure of Schneiderlin to Falourr Aaron Shin's been paired with many midfielders, but have yet to find success.....so that will play a huge role on their season given that they employ 4-2-1-3 system. And now, their infamous artillery's back once again, with the Sunrisian duo Rolando and Rolandinho (congrats to them on their World Cup win, wooo), talented Nepharim veteran Felix Keller and 17-year old Aymeric Fortin, with the latter having scored 14 goals in 24 appearances so far. With the squad looking to be at their best shape ever, since that dominant LigAnaia season won by the Blue Devilsa while bay, anything less than a double would be considered a disappointment and titleless campaign an utmost disappointment.

  198. Commentary : If Nunavut North Stars, at this point, may be the most overrated Q-League team right now, PLI Islanders may be the most underrated team to start this season. The backbone of this team is staged by Chromatik international Jillian Nier, who is expected to charge the new generation of goalies playing in the league right here, centreback Mila Lahm and Jeremiah Douglass-Boucard, midfielders Gordon McKay and Samuel Marchand, and their 34-year old talisman Michal Javecik. Them, on top of promising wing-back Sang Gi Park and strikers Samuel Poirot-Gauthier and Soren Fauskanger, should thrive in defensive, chemistry-driven football under manager Andrew Tomlinson, whose transition from club legend to manager is anticipated with much excitement. With the entire island's support and advantage in their isolated location, PLI has a chance to surprise everyone.

Despite questions surrounding the defensive assets on this team, with Valerie Boag-Blanc their only top-calibre back, the United has hopes and promises for bright future with their firepower; they boast the likes of Emmanuel Garincha, already one of top wingers in the league, unpredictable football alien in Ramon Cortez and solid option of Alicia Cleveland straight from Nepharim Premiership, as well as the command centre of this team in Josh Pegahmagabow. And of course, don't forget about 16-year old Sauron, the soul-crushing defensive midfielder whose impact on other players is simply scary. Their gifted offence and free-wheeling approach could lead this team to a UICA spot, though whether that'll be successful or not lies on how consistent their defence can get over the course of the season.

Unlike their rivals United, Spartak has struggled a lot in adjusting to COCANEFA and have not recovered much from a significant loss of talent to other clubs (even those in lower tier, yes) thanks to administration that got themselves pretty much into it. So in a move that was done to prevent further decline of the club, the management has hired elderly Owen McMillan with high hopes and anticipation. It remains to be seen on whether the team, even with McMillan in helm, can survive the lack of talent depth and overreliance on playmakers Ivan Iwaszchenko and libero Jose Varela. Both are very good players, no lying on that, but this is a team sport and Spartak may have to require lots of things to happen, so that they have a chance in staying in Q-League.

On paper, Kingston has a very strong squad in midfield and front, with Nuevo Caracas captain Raoul Seguin expected to anchor what's a squad full of young prospects (but not as hyped as that of Sherbrooke, per se) and 23 and 21 year old Fabiano Alba and Fabio Ventresca looking to make some splash. However, that's all they have, as this team has a significant issue in defence and goalkeeping; it amazes many with the failure to sign any big or even serviceable goalkeeper who can perform often enough, or a veteran defender who can certainly keep the defenders off partying. With this in mind, it looks to be a very long season for interim manager Ho Jin Kim, who's handed reins to a very flawed team and expected to do more than getting half the players suspended or arrested in an unsanctioned gathering. I mean the Grim Reapers are notorious for doing that the best in Multiverse, but come on, they do that with success and consistency. Not the same with this squad. Poor guy....
