06[18:59] * Vesta follows in not long afterwards, dressed like it was a warmer day in her singed light jacket. She looks around expectantly seeing who's there. She nods hello to Trustable and does her ritual of looking to see what she has and comparing that to the menu
06[18:59] * Vermillienne enters the Roost, pausing to wipe her feet before making her way toward the bar. She opts to pull out a stool and sit at the bar counter.

06[19:02] * Auberion enters and stamps his feet clean before making his way inside, smiling to everyone as he waves to everyone and makes his way to the bar.
06[19:04] * Vesta smiles and waves to those that have just entered, her smile brightens considerably seeing Auberion "Hello!"

01[19:05] <@EV-GM> The roost looks a little different today.  Above the bar hangs a cloth, drapped over something that seems to float there, unattached.  Besides that, there is an empty table with a three board set up for the Game.  In the higher level, one of the sections has been drapped with neutral grey colors and a group of men: humans, elves, a pair of fera, feline and avian, and even a single Dragonborn of silver extraction all sit around a large table dicussing something in urget, hushed tones.

06[19:06] * Auberion grins at Vesta as he is greeted, "Hey there Vesta how are you this evening?"
[19:06] <Auberion> "Hello Trustable"
06[19:07] * Auberion while he greets the others his eyes catch the cloth just hanging there as he tries to make his way to the bar.
[19:10] <Trustable> It seems there's drama afoot.
06[19:10] * Taurak makes his way into the Roost.  He's wearing his own clothing today, since he doesn't have duty.   The Dragonborn pauses to look at the cloth that's... floating there.   And over at the board.   And the players.   He grunts softly, and plaintly debates whether he he's going to stay or go somewhere else.
[19:10] <Vesta> "Im doing much better now that my friends are here and I actually was able to help some today at the cooper." she smiles and looks at the gathering up on the top ring "Whats going on there?" she asks jerking her chin in the meetings dirction
[19:10] <Auberion> "Oh what happened at the Copper?"
06[19:12] * Auberion he blinks a moment as he focuses, "Master Jessa, it is good to see you here."
01[19:13] <@EV-GM> The owner of the Roost is actually behind the bar tonight, a human named Cas Tolvan.  He is tall and stocky, a cotton shirt strains at his weight.  He smiles as he serves his customers.
06[19:14] * Vermillienne pushes her stack of coins toward Cas, looking back toward the others as they begin to file in. She'd been so focused on her one nightly indulgence of ale that she hadn't noticed the decor. She turned and looked around the Roost, and toward the group of men.
01[19:14] <@EV-GM> The elf looks at Auber ion and nods slightly listening to  the others in their meeting.
06[19:15] * Trustable comes up with his usual order and just a bit of extra coin for Cas. "What's the festivities?"
01[19:17] <@EV-GM> Cas drops the extra into a bowl behind the bar.  "Its the annual trainer meeting before the races open next month.  I offered a comfortable place for them to meet."
[19:17] <Vesta> "I got to char the inside of the barrels for an order of buorbon casks today and nothign went wrong!" She looks from Auberion to one of the people and back "You know her?"

06[19:19] * Trustable drops some more coin. "A simple drink for them, on the media representation expert that everybody calls Trustable."
01[19:20] <@EV-GM> Cas looks at the coin and then looks at Trustable.  He shrugs and gets one of his servers to prepare a round of drinks.
06[19:20] * Vesta gasps at Cas "Ooooh~ Anything good you overheard?"
01[19:24] <@EV-GM> Cas gives Vesta a look, pursing his lips together.  "I don't eavesdrop, young lady."
06[19:24] * Lishel makes her way in to the Roost; dressed to impress... or distract, depending on where you're standing. "Evening, all."
06[19:26] * Vesta gives Cas a look back like she doesn't quite belive that.
01[19:29] <@EV-GM> He smiles.  "Well, I don't talk about it while they are here anyway."  He passes her a mug of ale and smiles.
06[19:30] * Taurak moves over to the bar by Vermillienne.  "Crowded tonight." He says softly, not intending for his voice to carry
06[19:30] * Vesta chuckles taking the ale with a grin "Alright fair. Can you at least tell us who's who though?" she asks

[19:36] <Trustable> Planning and negotiations for the upcoming Gryphon Race season.  All very exciting.  ((Considering the recent battles, Trustable's excitement scale might not be callibrated like everybody else's.))
01[19:37] <@EV-GM> Cas moves to serve Lishel as he finishes identifying the trainers.  "Just like Trustable said.  Just setting the ground rules for the races this year."

06[19:38] * Auberion nods back to the Steels trainer but does not otherwise intertude and heads to the bar to order his nightly meal and drink from Cas.
06[19:38] * Lishel flashes Cas a smile as she raises her glass. "I wonder if they'd want to spice up the races with some pyrotechnics."
[19:39] <Auberion> "that sounds delightful Vesta, do you get any samples for the assistance?{
[19:40] <Trustable> Could be... I might have some moving-pictures work for you.
[19:41] <Auberion> "I'm sorry what was that Trustable?"
[19:41] <Vesta> "Im guessing the War is going to be a sticking point?" she asks Cas as she associates faces with who's who. Looking to Auberion though at his question she shakes her head "Nope Im afraid not. Im told it has to sit in the barrels awhile for it to get any good."
06[19:42] * Trustable hands Lishel one of his business cards, just in case Lishel hasn't gotten one yet. "We can talk later."

06[19:47] * Lishel arches an eyebrow as she takes the card. "Not sure I need representation, thanks."
01[19:47] <@EV-GM> Cas smiles at Taln and waves as he is serving drinks.  He turns to one of his servers and speaks softly, starting to pour another drink that is ready for Taln by the time he gets to the bar
06[19:51] * Auberion after getting his food and drink from one of the servers he goes to find his usual seat, waving to Taln as he enters.

06[19:53] * Vesta waves to Taln from her spot as she sips her Ale next to Auberion and keeps glancing up to the meeting of the racing minds like she hopes to see or hear something grand
01[19:54] <@EV-GM> "I have something I want you to try, Taln.  It will be out in a moment.
06[19:54] * Shayllyndel makes her way in, briefly glancing around before she moves to the bar to order a drink
[19:56] <Taln> "Of course, for you anythign Cas." He waves to Vesta before he takes a sip of his drink."
06[19:57] * Auberion looking to Vesta, " I feel a little terrible, I did not to get to ask Taln about the charter last night.":
[20:02] <Vesta> "Well he's here now." she says and seeing Shay come in, she hesitates but waves to her too. "Oh look, its your friend."
06[20:03] * Taurak puts coin down for his own drink, and for Vermillienne, too.  She'll probably buy him a drink again later.
06[20:04] * Auberion smiles when Shay enters, waving "Hello Shayllyndel!"
06[20:05] * Shayllyndel nods politely to Vesta offering a small smile in greeting, then nods to Auberion and his over enthusiastic greeting.
[20:10] <Auberion> "I hope she'll join us."
01[20:10] <@EV-GM> As people mingle another woman comes in, A young human, wearing the leathers of the plainsfolk that roam the wilds of the Blood Throne.  Her long black hair is pulled back into a knotted ponytail, and her deeply tanned skin seems out of place in the snowbound city.  She looks around and moves to stand by the fire to catch some warmth.
06[20:11] * Lishel sips her drink as she watches the room. "Another busy night for the off season."
01[20:12] <@EV-GM> A server comes out and delivers to Taln a plate with what looks to be a small round cheesecake on it, ivory white with a crust only on the bottom and a white chocolate drizzle.
[20:13] <Trustable> The anticipation brings them.  The need to stake out the best tables, check out the piano.
06[20:13] * Vesta notes the human woman curiously as she pushes out a seat for Shay with her foot at the table they're at. "Join us?"
01[20:14] <@EV-GM> She shakes her head and just watches the bar from her place by the fire.
[20:14] <Taln> "Oh this looks lovely Cas, what is the reason for this?"
01[20:18] <@EV-GM> Cas shakes his head.  "Just something the chef came up with for this season.  I'm not sold on it yet."
06[20:20] * Shayllyndel carries her drink over, accepting the offered seat "thank you. How are you both this evening?"
06[20:20] * Taln takes a fork and opens up the tiny cake. "It looks nice though, I think people will like it Cas."
06[20:21] * Taurak glances over toward the woman near the fire.  Somewhat curious.    He leans agiainst the bar, and listens to the conversation around him.
01[20:23] <@EV-GM> Cas nods as he watches the clerk tase the dessert.  Meanwhile the meeting of the trainers seems to be breaking up, most of them standing, shaking hands, and then heading for the door, waving and thanking Cass for his hospitality.
06[20:27] * Trustable glances over at the rare dessert offering. "Something for the upscale clientelle?"
[20:28] <Auberion> "Well doing very well, there seems to be some excitement regarding the races going on tonight. How are you?"
01[20:28] <@EV-GM> Cass nods.  "We get a lot of big spenders here after a win.  People win big and then spend it away."
[20:28] <Vesta> "Im doing pretty good! Its exciting! We're so close to the start of the next racing season! and seeing this really hammered that home!" she looks to Shay "How about you?"
[20:30] <Shayllyndel> I am well, it has been busy, but well, thank you for asking
[20:31] <Trustable> Could bring in a big racer for publicity.
01[20:34] <@EV-GM> In the curtianed off area, the elf trainer that Auberion seemed to know is still sitting there.  He knocks on the table, looking at apprentice race.  The sound carries quite well over the bar.
[20:36] <Auberion> "How about you Shayllyndel, are you exicted about the races?"
[20:39] <Trustable> Oh, could the topic be new racers?
06[20:39] * Shayllyndel smiles politely "yes, of course"
01[20:41] <@EV-GM> "Topic?" Cas asks.
06[20:42] * Vesta nudges Auberion "Hey I think he's, looking for you." she says quietly nodding to the Steals Trainer
01[20:43] <@EV-GM> The woman standing by the fire seems to have warmed up and walks back towards the bar, passing Shaylyndel's table and running her hand through the half elf's hair as she moves past ending up beside Taurak at the bar.
06[20:43] * Trustable looks to the race-officials having their enthusiastic conversation
[20:44] <Auberion> "Oh, one moment, if you will both excuse me please."
06[20:44] * Auberion does actually wait for permission to depart.
06[20:46] * Vesta nods and shoo's him to go, but looks to the human woman strangely as she runs her hands through Shay's hair she looks to Shay curiously
06[20:47] * Auberion nods and departs heading to Master Jessa, "Master Jessa, can I be of assistance?"
01[20:47] <@EV-GM> The elf nods and kicks out a chair.  "How quickly can you put together a hunt?"
06[20:48] * Taurak puts down coin.   "A drink for the lady," he says loudly enough for one of the barmen to hear it.  Not necessarily Cas, unless he just happens to be nearer
06[20:50] * Shayllyndel seems just as surprised as Vesta, jumping a little as someone she does not know takes it upon themselves to play with her hair. She glances at the woman, watching her a moment, before turning her attention back to Vesta and Auberion, trying to focus on them again, though clearly a little flustered now.
[20:51] <Vesta> "Do you know them?" she asks Semi-Concerned
06[20:51] * Shayllyndel give a little shake of her head "no"
01[20:51] <@EV-GM> She smiles and looks at the server.  "Cider, please."  Her voise is soft and almost out of place with the tougher exterior she seems to possess.  "Thank you...?"
06[20:52] * Trustable glances over at talk of a hunt, but his attention is pulled back to the race officials.
06[20:55] * Vesta frowns at Shay and looks to the strange woman "Hey lady, where do you get off touching others without permission?" asks the fire genasi
06[20:57] * Taurak nods to the woman.  "You are welcome."   Missing the cue completely that she's wanting his name.   "You are new to town?"  Polite, without flirtation
01[21:00] <@EV-GM> She starts to reply when Vesta calls her out.  She turns and looks at the Gensai cooly before she truns back to her drink.
06[21:03] * Auberion takes the seat that is "offered" , "Well sir I have already been talking to a few, and I think I can have it together in about a week or less."
01[21:05] <@EV-GM> He nods to Auberion.  "You are ready to race in the Freeforall, yes?"
06[21:05] * Shayllyndel just gives a small shake of her head, not willing to make an issue of it. She speaks softly to Vesta
01[21:06] <@EV-GM> The woman looks at Taurak.  "Not very new.  New to this place, yes.  So who is  it that is polite enought to buy me a drink?"
[21:08] <Auberion> "I believe I can be yes sir just get my partner and I should be set."
[21:08] <Vesta> "Hey I asked you a question! I'd-" she starts, but taking a glance at Shay she catches her look and listens a moment before looking back to the rude woman with a little heat in her eyes, grumbling.
06[21:09] * Shayllyndel gives Vesta a small smile
06[21:10] * Shayllyndel bites back a laugh at Vesta's response and nods in agreement
06[21:12] * Shayllyndel orders another round of drinks for herself and Vesta
[21:12] <Taurak> "I am called Taurak most often.  sometimes less polite things, but that can hardly be helped."  his tone is dry.  He has a drink from his own glass.  He waits to see if she'll give a  name as well
01[21:13] <@EV-GM> The trainer nods.  "When you have your hunt together, let me know and I'll show you were to go.  Don't make a big show of this, and don't talk to the other racers.  I'm tryinbg to give you a head start."
01[21:15] <@EV-GM> "I am called Nolece.  It was pleasant to meet you."  She drinks back her cider and smiles to him before suddenly turning and heading for the door.
06[21:22] * Vesta watches the woman go, tracking her as she leaves and frowning. She sighs when she's gone and drinks deep from her cup before looking to Shay. "You know the phrase 'Stare hard enough to burn a hole through someone?' I have to be careful, because that can sometimes happen with me." she chuckles and relaxes letting go of her indignation.
[21:23] <Shayllyndel> I can imagine.  But thank you
06[21:24] * Taurak watches Nolece go.  That was odd.   He has another drink from his own glass.
[21:25] <Auberion> "Of course Master Jessa, I will keep it to just myself and my team."
01[21:25] <@EV-GM> The elven trainer stands and nods.  "Good.  I wish you a good season, Auberion."  He turns and walks out of the Roost

01[21:29] <@EV-GM> As the Trainer leaves, some of the servers break away to start to take down the clothes and curtains, reveling the red seating area again.  While they do, the door opens again and the wolfen Assani Hfarin walks in, her red fur speckled with snow.  She smiles and walks to the bar, standing behind Lishel as she gestures to Cas for a drink.

06[21:31] * Shayllyndel gances a moment to the door, her look speculative, before turning back to her drink
06[21:36] * Lishel had been letting her mind wander, and didn't immediately register that the wolfen was there. Once she did, she turned, offering Assani a grin. "Ah, hey there, player."
06[21:36] * Vesta looks to Auberion as he returns "So, what was that about?" she asks looking curious
06[21:38] * Auberion just blinks, after the trainer leaves.,..."Amazing..."
06[21:39] * Auberion he sits a moment staring at where the man was, then seems nearly unable to contain his excitement, rocking ever so slightly.
06[21:40] * Shayllyndel raises an eyebrow. "it was a good discussion then?"
[21:40] <Auberion> "I am going to be racing this season!"
01[21:40] <@EV-GM> The wolfen smiles.  "Hello yourself, fire mage."  She reaches for her drink, sliding her arm around Lishel as she does to do so.  She pulls back and nods to the table with the Game set up.  "Care to keep a girl company while I earn my keep?"  Without waiting for an answer, she turns, thawping the Gensai with her tail and walking over to the table.

06[21:43] * Lishel chuckles, "Well, when you ask like that, how could I refuse?" She follows after Assani, settling in next to her at her table. "But were you asking just for the company? Or for the distraction I provide?"
[21:45] <Trustable> How would you feel, Auberion, about taking a recording crystal with you on your first race?
01[21:47] <@EV-GM> Assassin smiles as they sit down close to each other.  "Can it be both?  I mean your are distracting enough to me to say I want your company."  She sets her drink down and pulls the cloth aside, to reveal the board.
[21:47] <Auberion> "I think that is a brillant idea Trustable!"
06[21:48] * Auberion spins a little and then looks at Shay and Vesta, "I feel incrediable!"
[21:48] <Lishel> "Good answer. So, given any more thought to that offer you got?"
[21:52] <Auberion> "There is so much to do!"
01[21:53] <@EV-GM> She nods, pickinhg up a piece to gently polish it as she talks with Lishel.  "I have.  I think Its a good enough reason to stay around for a bit.  The scenery here in Que is quite nice."
06[21:53] * Vesta grins hugely "Thats amazing! How can we help?!"
06[21:57] * Lishel gives the wolfen a playful nudge with her elbow. "All the rolling hills and plunging valleys, I'd imagine."
[21:57] <Trustable> We'll work up something so it doesn't interfere with your riding.

06[22:01] * @Assani nods, smiling easily. "I do like to look at them and while away my days. So have you thought about where we should go first?"
[22:04] <Auberion> "Well I need to go and find my Gryphon."
[22:04] <Auberion> "That is going to be the big thing."
[22:05] <Trustable> A whole process... we could document it for your story.  The rookie racer, how he reached up.
[22:07] <Lishel> "I did have an idea or two. Have you ever been to a Certemain duel?"
[22:08] <Auberion> "No, I'm sorry, that we cannot record."
[22:13] <Trustable> What can we record?
[22:14] <Vesta> First race?
[22:15] <Vesta> The Free for all is just over a month away. Im sure you can record the trainings leading up to it.
06[22:15] * @Assani shakes her head. "No, I haven't. Don't tell me you are a duelest."
[22:16] <Vesta> In the mean time, I'll be glad to help you find your gryphon though!
06[22:16] * Shayllyndel listens quietly to the discussion
06[22:18] * Lishel laughs, "Okay, I won't." Then she sighs, "I'm not anymore, anyway. Got barred from the dueling league for 'unreasonable levels of public risk'. But the matches are still fun to watch."
01[22:21] <@Assani> The wolfen laughs, caressing her tail as she she does.  "Somehow, that seem to suit you, Lishel.  I think thge duels sound fun."
[22:23] <Lishel> "That'll be our first outing then. Shouldn't be hard to find some time soon with a few exhibitions scheduled."
01[22:24] <@Assani> "I place myself in your hands."
[22:27] <Trustable> Auberion, tonight you celebrate.  Tomorrow, we discuss what can be recorded, what can be disclosed, and what has to wait.  When I know the rules I can work out the story.
06[22:27] * Trustable claps him again on the shoulder before heading out.

[22:40] <Lishel> "I does. We'll work out where all the hands go soon then."
[22:41] <Auberion> "I feel a bit bad about telling him no but....this is scared and I don't want people seeing how you do it..."
06[22:42] * Shayllyndel considers for a few moments "I will need to think it over
06[22:45] * @Assani smiles and flicks her tail out at Lishel. "If that's true, then I'll definatly take the apprenticeship."
[22:51] <Auberion> "Oh...well is there somethingI can do to change your mind?"
[22:54] <Lishel> "So, where will I find you while you're studying under this Player of Que? Still going to be haunting the tables here at the Roost?"
06[22:56] * @Assani nods. "I'll be here or at the inn across the street, when I'm not busy with work. This is how I'll pay my way. Dad always told me to save my winnings for when I need them, so as long as I can make a living playing, I'll just keep saving what I can."
06[22:58] * Lishel arches an eyebrow. "So this apprentiship is just a chance to learn, not an all expenses paid stay in the city, huh?"
06[23:00] * @Assani chuckles lightly. "Oh no. Players are cheap bastards at heart, especially Masters. I'm lucky I'm not paying for the privledge."
[23:04] <Lishel> "Hmm, with a name like 'the Player of Que' I would have thought they could cover something at least."
06[23:08] * @Assani shrugs. "Its an old tradition. Only a few players are rich. Most of us get by like this." She gestures at the board."
[23:11] <Lishel> "Not a bad way to go, as long as it lasts."
01[23:13] <@Assani> "I agree, but then again, I've never gone hungry or had to play for coppers, so I keep ahold of my coin.  When I'm a master, I'll be just as miserly as they are."
06[23:16] * Shayllyndel chews her lip lightly "as you well know.. it is much more involved than simply finding a Gryphon"
[23:18] <Lishel> "Next in a long line of stingy jackasses, huh?" She chuckles, "At least tradition is comforting."
01[23:19] <@Assani> "I'll just look better doing it."
06[23:23] * Lishel grins over at Assani. "No arguments there."
06[23:25] * @Assani smiles and sips her wine. "Luckily I can't blush. Do Gensai blush?"
[23:28] <Lishel> "You'll just have to come up with something creative to test that. No fun just telling."
06[23:30] * @Assani looks at her and licks her lips for a moment and nods. "I'll have to think about that one." She leans over and gives Lishel a kiss on the cheek. "I think this wine has gone to my head."
06[23:34] * Lishel grins. While she doesn't blush, the elemental markings on her dark skin do glow a bit brighter. "Best thing for it is sleeping it off. Or vigorous exercise. But I always opt for a bed when it comes to that."
01[23:35] <@Assani> "Excerise in bed?  That's what I'm hearing."
[23:39] <Lishel> "Now whoever said something like that? Honestly, Assani, the places your mind goes..."
06[23:42] * @Assani smiles. "So I like to think ahead. Nothing wrong with that, especialy when you have interesting things to think about."
[23:46] <Lishel> "Must be why you're so good at the game, hm?"
01[23:48] <@Assani> "Excatly."  She takes her drink and sips it again.  "I should go to bed while I can still walk."
[23:50] <Lishel> "Good idea. I'll walk you to your room. To make sure you get there safely."
06[23:53] * @Assani smiles and stands. "Promise I'll be safe?"
06[23:56] * Lishel gets up as well. "Probably. If anything dire comes up, don't stand next to anything flammable."
06[23:58] * @Assani nods and takes the last of her bottle. "Well, let's not waste any more time. I'd hate for you to have to carry me."

06[00:45] * Shayllyndel nods and finishes her drink. She stands and nods to Auberion, then looks to Vesta "It was good to see you again, please do stop by my shop anytime"
