  1. Backstory: Tamiko lived a basically ordinary life up until the age of 13. The only thing that was different before 13 happened when she was 9. Tamiko had travelled to England with her family, but got extremely lost, not seeing her family for over a day. It was something she would never forget, however she met her best friend Carol Bridger there, who was a year older than her. Fortunately, Carol spoke a bit of Japanese and Tamiko spoke a bit of English. She grew a love for travelling from this experience, as she learnt how many people there are out there. This also caused her to grow to appreciate people even more. Tamiko began to read books about socialising and always working to make friends. When she was 13, her life changed. Carol was reported missing. Tamiko and her family went to stay with Carol's family in England, as her parents were quite close to Carol's. Tamiko began to use her social skills to talk to Carol's friends, despite the language barrier. There was a group of four people in particular who she got along with: Kaori Hayami (who was Japanese and moved to England), Will Birch, Robyn Lippett and Tom Watson. The four of them would plan how to find Carol, but they knew deep down there was nothing they could do. Tamiko managed to help them through a little bit, thanks to her social skills. A couple of weeks later, Tamiko and her family had to return to Japan. When Tamiko was 14, her brother, Sora, died, by suicide. Tamiko blamed herself for this, if only she talked to him more, maybe she could have done something. Tamiko worked even harder to improve her socialising skills, to hopefully prevent this in the future. She wanted to learn how to read people's emotions too. Tamiko took it upon herself to try and be there for her parents and her sister, believing she had the skills. And she did, but it was stressful. She did not stop to think about how much she was suffering from the recent disappearance of her best friend, and loss of her brother. Half a year later, Tamiko turned 15. Her family were still not over the loss of Sora. Carol's whereabouts were still not known, but she was presumed dead, but Tamiko believed in Carol. Tamiko was still talking to all of her friends from England, and they all believed Carol was okay. She had to be right? Tamiko was excellent at socialising, knowing what to say to change people's moods and how to manipulate people, anything to do with talking. She was one of, if not the most popular person in her year. She had a considerable following online too, people attracted to her way with words and her charisma. Unfortunately, Tamiko's constant studying of people and how to talk to them made her neglect her school studies. She struggles in school a lot due to this. She refuses to stop though, always believing there is more to be learnt.
