- -- abysmalAirspace [AA] is leaning against a tree to make her silhouette less obvious, keeping watch over the plains to ensure none come close to the merry troll's encampment. --
- -- academicCatharsis [AC] is being led by her guide-lusus through what she perceives is a plain of some sort. Her hand on its side, she takes each step carefully so as not to fall. --
- -- abysmalAirspace [AA] calls out, her voice clear in the night air. --
- AA: <\ Turn back. />
- -- academicCatharsis [AC] stops when her lusus raises one of its large heads and stops as well. She raises her head slightly as well, suddenly hearing a voice in the quiet night. --
- AC: I'm simplψ passing through.
- AA: <\ To other places go. />
- AA: <\ Here, you are not welcome. />
- AC: I assure ψou, I mean no harm.
- AA: <\ I still cannot let you through. />
- -- academicCatharsis [AC] tilts her head slightly downward and to the side, as if thinking. --
- AC: For what reason?
- AA: <\ I am tasked to protect this place. />
- AA: <\ Proceed, and you will be a threat. I will take no mercy on you. />
- AC: What are ψou protecting this place from? As I said, I come here with peaceful intentions.
- AA: <\ I protect this place from all intruders. As you are. />
- AC: I have full intention of passing through this place sometime tonight, I hope ψou realize.
- AA: <\ Pass around us. />
- AC: I can't see where the borders are, and I would rather pass through as quicklψ as possible.
- AA: <\ ... />
- AA: <\ You cannot see? />
- AC: I cannot.
- AA: <\ ... I will guide you around. Please wait for a moment. />
- -- academicCatharsis [AC] stays in her place, her hand still resting on her lusus' side. --
- -- abysmalAirspace [AA] blows a silent whistle which the lusus might be able to hear. In response to the signal, another troll soon comes to join them. She explains the situation to them, and leaves them on watch, stepping out onto the plains. --
- AA: <\ Come. Follow my voice. I will guide you. />
- -- academicCatharsis [AC] pats her lusus a couple times and they begin following the voice. --
- AC: I thank ψou.
- -- abysmalAirspace [AA] leads them on a wide circle around the camp, to ensure that her lusus won't cause any trouble. As she walks, she keeps up her voice. --
- AA: <\ You are welcome. />
- AA: <\ This way. />
- -- academicCatharsis [AC] almost trips up a few times but she regains her balance and follows the protective troll. --
- AA: <\ Here... over here. This way. Please take care, there is a tree to your left. />
- -- abysmalAirspace [AA] leads her over until they've circled the camp. --
- AA: <\ Stop. We have arrived. />
- AA: <\ You are now free to continue on your way. />
- -- academicCatharsis [AC] nods her head. Her lusus nods its heads as well, as if thanking the guide-troll. --
- AC: Thank ψou, again. That was quite kind of ψou.
- AA: <\ I do it for my people. />
- AC: Ψour people are fortunate to have ψou.
- AA: <\ Thank you, miss. />
- AC: No need to thank me, I onlψ saψ what I perceive to be true.
- AA: <\ I understand. />
- AA: <\ May I ask what you are called? />
- AC: Ψou maψ call me the Academic.
- AA: <\ Then, Academic, I wish you well. />
- AC: Thank ψou. I wish ψou well in protecting this place.
- AA: <\ I thank you. />
- -- abysmalAirspace [AA] nods to the Academic. --
- AA: <\ And now I must go. />
- AC: Farewell, then.
- -- academicCatharsis [AC] turns and walks away with her lusus guiding her --
- -- abysmalAirspace [AA] heads a ways back to camp... but she'll watch, stealthily from behind a tree, just to make sure the Academic leaves on her way and doesn't double back to camp. When she's satisfied, she returns to her watch post. --
