Holo Scaling

Holo had told Lawrence she’d be back in just a minute. She began wondering if she’d be able to keep that promise. But there was something in this forrest, something that intrigued her, something that didn’t belong and made her hair stand on end.

That something was not the man stealthily tailing her.

“You can stop hiding, I know you’re there.”

A shadow moved from behind one of the trees as Holo turned. It kept on its guard as it revealed itself. At first Holo thought that it might have been a giant bat, or a bat god transformed into a human. But on closer inspection it appeared to be a normal human. Holo grimaced as she realized her ears and tail were fully exposed.

“You’re a very quiet one aren’t you. I only barely heard a thing. But there were a few key mistakes, perhaps you are more used to tailing people in the city?”

The man didn’t answer.
