  3. NOTE: I don't take my ratings *that* seriously, and so neither should you. But given that Backloggd encourages its users to rate games on a scale of 1 to 10, a scale in which what each number actually means is very poorly defined, and the fact that I am a very pernickety person, I thought I would take the time to write up what I actually mean when, say, I give a game a 7/10 as opposed to an 8/10. I would write it in my profile description but Backloggd doesn't give you enough space.

  5. Honestly, I'm not sure why anyone would actually be interested enough in this to click this link, but... here you are! Hope you're doing well today. Anyway, without further ado...

  7. ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
  8.
  9. 1/10 – Unplayable
  10. Fundamentally broken or dysfunctional. Severe technical issues, incomprehensible design, or outright failure to function as a game. The tier for kusoge.
  11.
  12. 2/10 – Atrocious
  13. Barely functional. Basically zero redeeming qualities. Playing it feels like a complete waste of time.
  14.
  15. 3/10 – Very Bad
  16. Technically playable, but deeply flawed in most areas. Poorly designed, and offers little to no meaningful enjoyment.
  17.
  18. 4/10 – Bad
  19. Consistently weak. Has some redeeming qualities, but is undermined by poor execution, bland design, or persistent issues.
  20.
  21. 5/10 – Mediocre
  22. Just bang average. Neither particularly enjoyable nor offensive. May have some decent ideas or a solid core, but fails to stand out or fully engage.
  23.
  24. 6/10 – Decent
  25. Competent and enjoyable. Noticeable flaws, but enough solid elements to make it worth recommending to the right audience.
  26.
  27. 7/10 – Good
  28. A genuinely enjoyable experience. Delivers on its core ideas well, with some shortcomings that don’t significantly detract overall. I was left feeling satisfied by the credits.
  29.
  30. 8/10 – Great
  31. Highly enjoyable and easy to recommend. Strong across most areas, with only minor issues or a missing spark that keeps it from the very top tier. 8/10s and above are strongly recommended.
  32.
  33. 9/10 – Excellent
  34. Outstanding. Nearly top-tier in execution and impact, with only slight limitations preventing it from being a personal all-time favourite.
  35.
  36. 10/10 – All-Time Favourite
  37. A deeply personal, defining experience. Not flawless or a ‘masterpiece’ (whatever that means these days), but resonates on every level and leaves a lasting impact on how I see games.
