Yes, it's happening.

One of the annoying things about having a job working in an airport is that you're quite vulnerable to global trends. For example, when a global pandemic hits and people stop travelling, suddenly you, and everyone you know, are out of work.

This actually isn't the worst thing that could have happened to me - my wife's work is considered essential, so we still have some income, and I had been on the point of leaving that job anyway. What this gives me is a few months to reset my priorities. So first and foremost, my fitness has lagged significantly in the past year or so, despite being on my feet all the time - I was unable to do much of anything else in terms of training because of the issues my job was causing on my back and my feet, in particular. So that's definitely something I want to prioritise.

The other is that, since I don't want to pick up another physical job that will cause me the same problems, and that's pretty much all that's going around right now... I think it's time to try my hand at streaming again.

If you've watched my streams in the past, my intention is for them to look a little different this time around. There won't be nearly as much speedrunning, and certainly not as much Sonic speedrunning - I've spent enough of my life doing that and I don't need to go back there. Hopefully being able to be more relaxed with my content will help me to be more engaging and less deflated by bad performances.

I don't exactly know what I will stream - I don't have a Genesis any more and I don't have an HDMI splitter to stream Switch - but there's a few ideas I'm floating around:
* I have a few games I'm halfway through at the moment that I'll probably finish on stream or just start from scratch - Shovel Knight, Tanglewood, I still have a lot of the extra content from Celeste to complete, so there's definitely things I can do.
* Something that just popped into my head while writing this is that I could do a series of streams of all 100 games (actually, it would be slightly less) from my GDQ 100 collection: https://pastebin.com/kjgc2Bnn I think that would be fun, and then after I finished each game we could all watch the run in question together afterwards.
* Something I used to run a few years back that I want to bring back: new subscribers get to pick a Sonic fan game for me to play on stream. I know there's a lot of good ones but also a lot of trash! Both are welcome.

In the next 24 hours I'll open my Discord back up and we can discuss these ideas further. I must stress though, that at the moment this is only temporary. As it stands my job will resume in mid-June (although I think that's kind of optimistic) and my time and inclination to keep doing this will probably go with it. And it's very possible I will have the same problems now that I had that caused me to stop in the first place. But I think in the current circumstances, it would be remiss of me not to find out.
