Q: What are you playing on?
A: A GameCube using a GameBoy Player.

Q: What are you trying to do?
A: Beat the game as fast as possible.

Q: What is the world record?
A: 2:04:20 by PulseEffects. My PB is two seconds slower at 2:04:22.

Q: Then why is the PB in your splits 2:03:56?
A: During runs, I start the timer about 26 seconds later to aid RNG manipulation.

Q: Why Leaf Green and not Fire Red?
A: I like having the option to catch Sandshrew, a version exclusive, as a backup Cut slave. I'm not sure this is more optimal than Paras, which is available in both versions, but Paras is annoying because it changes your shopping route and sometimes kills runs by breaking out of your balls.

Q: Why pick the girl?
A: Because she's adorable. The boy is only a few frames faster and has a disgusting sprite.

Q: Why are you resetting?
A: Probably because my Squirtle's stats are bad.

Q: What stats are you looking for?
A: A Mild, Rash or Modest nature with extremely good Special Attack (ideally 30-31 IV, but 28-29 can manage), good Speed (ideally 21+, but 16-20 can manage), and not terrible Attack (20+ IV Modest, or 4+ IV neutral).

Q: Why are you checking your trainer ID at the start of the run?
A: This enables me to RNG manipulate a good Squirtle, albeit with a couple of restrictions. Each ID produces a unique list of starter stats, so by checking my ID, I'll know which Squirtles I'll get on certain frames. If there's a great one at, say, frame 4200, I'll want to select it in Prof. Oak's lab 4200 frames after my trainer ID was generated. This method is inconsistent because the RNG doesn't always advance at the same speed, so I might get Squirtle #4195 or #4205 in the example above.

Q: How do you find this list of Squirtles by ID?

Q: What is your goal?
A: To PB by exactly one second, thus missing WR and giving me an excuse to continue grinding this fantastic speedgame.
