Sword Technique part 1

was at this point angry that none of his training up to this point, which was Katon would actually help his friends and comrades, so many lives were lost one after the other, Daichi's death was one thing, then Mitsuru. For her death he'd feel more guilt than ever in his life, some days ago his sensei Hifumi organized a squad that would lead them to the Village Hidden in the Mist, where the Inuzuka girl was appointed to fight to the death with  a Kaguya, a meaningless fight over something primitive, and that was a test to actually see which village had a better military. The way Etsuko acted towards him, completely ignoring how he felt and not even trying to figure out what had happened like a true friend made him sad at this point, and he'd somehow use those feelings to better himself, if similar behaviour like this was shown to him from people he cared about he'd truly become a loner.

Soryen stepped up to a tree in his village's park, he thought of increasing his kenjutsu skills at this point, the boy was nimble on his feet and could perform swift moves with his katana but lacked any actual given moves with a set pattern, today he'd plan to create a signature move.


The boy unsheathed his katana ,he'd stare his blade as he pondered on what to actually create, most people he actually encountered didn't have many weapons and close combat with swords didn't seem like a good choice for many unless they could actually weild a kunai or a weapon of some sort, he'd resort to creating an offensive move,something with a trick to it to baffle his opponent and give him a chance to land a finishing blow, his style revolved around quick attacks, getting struck by a heavy blow wouldn't be good as he wasn't durable as most.

Soryen already had a plan set in motion , he'd remember how Reiya made a combo on him one day when they had a spar, a low kick followed by another kick to his body was enough to send him flying , he'd think of something similar

The boy slashed his sword horizontally, but rather slowly, he'd aim to imagine a redirection of a kunai thrust in melee range, the tree infront of him acted as that enemy, he'd slice a branch off as he did so and immediately stop his sword, a swift twirl would follow, something the boy had gotten down to habit at this point in his katana career. The blade would perform a counter-clockwise motion and and point directly at the tree as Soryen placed his left arm, which was free on the sword's hilt and pushed it directly into the tree, he didn't have exceptional strength but employing the katana in such a way doubled it's thrusting power, he'd repeat this proccess several times.
