Position Overview
The Systems Engineer is responsible for the modeling, design, and testing of mechanical, fluid, electrical, instrumentation and control components that will be integrated into optimized power conversion systems. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Systems Engineer will be responsible to work closely with the project team and outside contract engineering resources, component and subcomponent vendors to ensure timely execution of deliverables.  The Systems Engineer will focus heavily on research and development programs commercial systems to deliver a technical solution to respond to customer needs on a cradle to grave basis.

More detailed responsibilities include:
•	Perform steady state and transient modeling of complex systems and processes including heat engines, heat pumps and other energy conversion systems and devices.
•	Systems Design and Modeling (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, GT Suite or other).
•	Thermal and fluid systems analysis.
•	Engineering-based test planning and analysis to support component and systems performance validation and verification.
•	System design for assembly, manufacturing, reliability and serviceability.
•	Minor travel to conferences, project partners and suppliers’ sites to collect data, view and disseminate results and reports, and witness and verify system and component testing.  Travel would be in the range of 5-10%.
Candidate Requirements
•	Master’s degree in Engineering or
•	Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of experience working in a similar or comparable role;
•	2 years of experience in complex process system design and/or demonstrable experience working in one or more of the following areas is highly preferred:
	Gas turbine packages
	Heat recovery steam generator technologies
	High speed turbo-machines
	High pressure fluid systems
	Other complex engineered products that produce power or work
•	Strong written, oral and presentation skills.
